The penultimate episode was so far superior to the 2 hour finale in my mind that it was a bit of a step back.HFS that was one of the best season finales I've seen for any show.
I didn;t mention it here but I stated that the only far fetched things was the killer finding Bullett right as Bullett found out he was the killer - seemed a bit far fetched.
Glad to see they tied it together tonight.
I'd say the first hour was a "Red Herring" hour..The penultimate episode was so far superior to the 2 hour finale in my mind that it was a bit of a step back.HFS that was one of the best season finales I've seen for any show.
Certainly the best season of the show but still feel like the writer should hand over the reins when it comes to finale night.
Reddick out when he yelled" I told Skinner, I told Skinner!!
about was Holder getting to the cabin at the same time they got to the back road.Re: the bolded, the whole drive up I was expecting this to happen, and it make sense. If you're skinner, you're not going to speed -- you don't want to risk getting pulled over under those circumstances. But Holder could double the speed limit the whole way up. So it's conceivable he could make the drive in half the time.I'd say the first hour was a "Red Herring" hour..The penultimate episode was so far superior to the 2 hour finale in my mind that it was a bit of a step back.HFS that was one of the best season finales I've seen for any show.

They basically gave it away that Reddick wasn't the killer the second they had Holder and Linden find the photo on the wall of Reddick with the first victim.
Then you just had to piece together the episode when HolderReddick out when he yelled" I told Skinner, I told Skinner!!
All that was left was the final reveal and the second I saw Linden staring at Skinners daughter hugging him I knew they were going to zoom in on the ring.
The 2nd hour was great though, IMO. Really enjoyed the back and forth with Linden and Skinner.
The only part on the 2nd hour I wasabout was Holder getting to the cabin at the same time they got to the back road.
He was detained by IA for who knows how long.. Then has the confrontation with Reddick, then drives to Skinners house and asks about the Lake house.. and yet arrives right when they do.
I was pretty sure throughout most of the drive time that Adrain was dead in the trunk as I couldn't figure out Skinners end game.. Was kind of cool that the guy that was portrayed as a "bad cop" ended up being the one to figure out where Adrain was hiding.![]()
The ending seemed to play homage to the Movie Seven.. right down to Holder's telling her "this is what he wants" and his response to Lindens shooting Skinner the 2nd time.
Overall definitely the best season and I hope there is a season 4.
Maybe I am not clear - in that episode Bullet found out about the killer and then the killer finds Bullett within a few hours - at the time it was way too convenient - the odds of that being a random event are huge. Seemed like a weak point in the story at the time.I didn;t mention it here but I stated that the only far fetched things was the killer finding Bullett right as Bullett found out he was the killer - seemed a bit far fetched.

Reddick called Skinner and told him Bullet was trying to get a hold of Holder because she knew who the killer was..
Skinner then takes her out.. There was plenty of things to call the writers out on but, IMO, this wasn't one of them.
Quite the impact last night.. It was one thing to see him drop.. yet another to watch him struggle.![]()
So Ray showed up afterwards... Doesn't seem like Ray was covering for anyone.. He blamed himself for her death and was why he took the blame.. had he stayed like Adrian yelled at him to do she might still be alive.
I understand Adrian not wanting to speak as he blamed his dad.. or maybe he fears for his own life as they still haven't answered how he knew about the burial grounds in the swamp area.
If I recall he had a tree house in the back yard.. How far away is their house from the burial grounds??
Maybe he was in the tree house and witnessed someone dumping a body.. Killer saw him and Adrian knew he saw him which is why he was so angry at his dad leaving that night as he knew he was caught..
He hides in closet, killer shows up and threatens the mom to tell him where her son is or she is dead, she doesn't give him away and is killed.
we also still haven't found Kallie...
Previews show Holder and Linden figuring out something is a littleand that a cop may be in on it.. They also find a new body in the trunk of a burned car.. could be Kallie in her moms car??

They only had a 20 minute head start (remember Skinner's wife said they left 20 minutes ago), and they weren't speeding, and they even pulled over at one point, and got out of the car and Linden puked. It's very conceivable that Holder caught up.The only part on the 2nd hour I wasabout was Holder getting to the cabin at the same time they got to the back road.

They tied it together with the explanation last night.
Not calling them out - recognizing that they resolved that point nicely.

If they decide to stick to the formula of the first "killing" maybe there are 3 people involved.. Cabbie, Reddick and Skinner...
2 hour finale next week
Maybe he said it, but what was the significance of him cutting the ring fingers off?
Was it symbolic to say because they were overdosed prostitutes that they will never get married or be worthy of marriage?

First thing I thought about when she was running through the woods at the beginning was Jodi Foster in Silence of the Lambsit will be interesting to see where season 4 starts from.
Will Holder and Linden cover up the shooting and make it self defense? Or will Linden turn into Hannibal Lector and solve murders from inside a maximum security prison?
And will they explain whatever happened to Kalli?it will be interesting to see where season 4 starts from.

Didn't he say she is in the lake at the cabin? He mentioned the lake is deep and cold and Linden asked if that is where Kalli is at.And will they explain whatever happened to Kalli?it will be interesting to see where season 4 starts from.

He didn't remember her, but maybe goes to show how much of a monster he was that he lost track of all them.
He didn't remember her, but he said there were many more then the 21 and they were "dumped" in the Lake, as well other places, where they would never be found..HFS that was one of the best season finales I've seen for any show.
So who was it?
Read above....Linden's lover.. now you just need to decide if that is Holder or SkinnerSo who was it?
This bothered me as well. I don't have problems with timelines and coincidences but it really was way out of character. For that matter I found all of her smiling this week a bit creepy and her being all warm and fuzzy. I know it was to set up her happiness for the final moments but it was just weird.Great episode. While they were driving up to the cabin, my wife and I were wondering how the hell he could have grabbed Adrian, went to the cabin, came back to get his kid from dance practice...then go home. Didn't even think about that he didn't have Adrian![]()
So I guess his plan was to just leave forever if Linden never came there? Or go to the lake and kill himself?![]()
Crazy move by Linden killing him not knowing where/if there indeed are a bunch of other bodies as Skinner said.
I don't think it's too out of character considered she was sleeping with him and trusted him. I took it as more of a "now he'll never be ever to get one over me again" or "I can't believe I slept with this monster". If it were anyone else she wouldn't have pulled the trigger. This bothered me as well. I don't have problems with timelines and coincidences but it really was way out of character. I think it was just a passion killing. It WAS out of character for her, that's the point. Given everything she had already been put through, and the way her whole world had been turned upside down, she just lost it. Keep in mind this case haunted her for years and put her in the crazy house for a period. Now it all comes full circle and she learns all of this, it just devastated her. And in that moment when he mentioned there were lots of other bodies -- you can see the realization in her eyes when that possibility dawns on her -- and he confirms it, that was the straw that broke the camel's backI don't think it's too out of character considered she was sleeping with him and trusted him. Yeah, she's totally f'ed in the head. I don't see them covering it up. She's off to the nut house. I can see the next season without her with maybe just some cameos of Holder coming to visit her. Very good season.Correct - it was an emotional response.I don't think it's too out of character considered she was sleeping with him and trusted him. Last we saw of her he was filming her "porn" flick.. So guessing she left it behind afterwards..I forget, but how did Joe Mills get Cali's phone?
AMC has canceled "The Killing" — again.“We have made the difficult decision not to move forward with a fourth season of 'The Killing,'" AMC said in a statement. "We want to thank our great partners at Fox Television Studios, creator Veena Sud, an extraordinary cast and the dedicated fans who watched.”
You all know the story of "The Killing" by now: greeted as the next great thing from the channel that gave us "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad," then with frustration as its first season consumed too many red herrings at the expense of interesting plots or characters, then with anger and incredulity when the first season didn't solve the Rosie Larsen mystery in a way the ads had implied, and then apathy by the time the Larsen case was closed at the end of its second season. AMC pulled the plug, then reconsidered when scheduling needs changed and a it looked like a deal could be made with Netflix to help pay some of the budget for a third season.
That third season was a creative improvement over the first two, but only to a point: the non-police characters were much better integrated into the storytelling (and the performances by Peter Sarsgaard and newcomer Bex Taylor-Klaus were terrific), but cop heroes Linden and Holder remained gullible at every turn, and the finale was another disappointment. The ratings were about on par with the second season, but despite that, the Netflix deal and better reviews — not to mention the big holes in the schedule that are about to be left after the final seasons of "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" (and the probable one-and-done fate of "Low Winter Sun") — AMC decided to move on.
(CNN) -- "The Killing" was AMC's real zombie show.
Netflix has struck a deal with Fox Television Studios to resurrect the rainy crime drama for a fourth season.
That's right: "The Killing," a show that's been canceled twice, is coming back to life for a second time.
AMC axed "The Killing" after its second season last year, only to pick it up again after talks between the studio and Netflix sparked interest in another round. The third season aired this summer on AMC to fairly modest ratings (ending with 1.5 million viewers). In September, AMC cancelled the increasingly ironically titled "The Killing" — again.
But apparently those cable executives didn't execute a proper double-tap to the head.
Because Netflix is bringing "The Killing" back with a six-episode fourth and final season. Stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman are on board, and so is showrunner Veena Sud.
"The rich, serialized storytelling in 'The Killing' thrives on Netflix, and we believe that it is only fitting to give Sarah Linden (Enos) and Stephen Holder (Kinnaman) a proper send off," said Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix. "We are looking forward to offering fans — both existing and new — a series that we know is perfectly suited for on-demand viewing."
Netflix previously revived Fox's cult favorite "Arrested Development" for a 4th season, and is often a company that studios call when their shows are axed to see if there's any interest. The move could be a smart play for Netflix since it gives the company an exclusive lock on the conclusion of the show without a big episode commitment (AMC is not part of the deal). Whenever viewers stream "The Killing" for years to come, if they want to see how the series concludes, they'll have to watch it on Netflix (or a company that makes a distribution deal with Netflix).
Unless ... of course ... this is not REALLY the end of "The Killing." A Netflix rep assures this order will conclude of the show, but unless the final shot of season 4 is Linden and Holder skewered on top of the Space Needle, there's always going to be a few fans wondering if The Killing could rise again, rainier and more murderous than ever.
Linden did kill her ex-partner at the end of season 3, and Holder tried to get her to stop. Season 4 is only going to be 6 episodes. You don't have to watch. What's really to conclude? Will Linder and Holder ever screw?
ETA: I really like the series...but it's not like there are these huge cliffhangers for the entire show that are out there
