American Horror Story: Hotel (Season 5) (1 Viewer)

That normal pic is by far the most kind one out there. Still an amazing contrast.
Oddly enough, this comforts me. I get freaked out by severely damaged people (like they care). To know that they didn't hire (exploit) a person who actually looks/acts like the character makes me feel a little better. God bless that actress for being willing to play her.

True. They did it last year.

ok whats up with the aliens? the ending was pretty sick. so hes a nazi doctor, right?
You know as much as anyone about the alien storyline, which is pretty much nothing. It looks like theyre putting that storyline on the backburner which I think is wise.I dont recall anything so far saying Cromwell was a Nazi or related to them thus far, but based on the preview for next week's show that is obviously the case. This week's show already felt much less muddled like people were complaining about after 1 episode. Having the kid possessed last episode now has a much clearer purpose with the nun. I think Im most interested to find out the backstory with the woods creatures at this point.

There was one Image pop up of the Alien when Jessica was :banned: and wandering the hallways.. So it seems they will just continue to leave it hanging around as a possible connection, or make you wonder if are they dreaming :tinfoilhat: I agree the show is getting better..

Not quite to season 1 level yet, but the ending of this weeks episode was definitely one of those   moments.

This show is bat #### crazy. They're throwing way too much #### at the wall, but don't seem to give one flying #### if any of it sticks.

I've always been one to forgive a lack of inner logic if I'm entertained (Walking Dead), but this series blows past all of that. It's just visceral thrills/scares without any wasted time on "why would he/she do that?". These characters just do dumb crap.

The actors seem to be having a blast. Lange's drunken intro to the movie may well be one of the best soliloquies I've ever seen.

Lange was so grating last year that I worried about her being a central character on the show. But after seeing the first 3 episodes, I have to say she's really outstanding. You know an actor has range when they play such a strong character on one show and the very next role you don't even think about that character while watching.

Hmm...see I figured that as 1 of the backwoods creatures, but you might be right.Unclear at this point if the backwoods creatures would be willing to enter/break into the asylum. Maybe if they get hungry enough? Maybe thats how the asylum goes down in the end?

did you not see the alien Jessica Lange bumped into in the hallway? and all i did was asked a question whats up with the aliens? youre acting very defensive for some reason.

 Like I said in a previous post, I thought that "thing" was a backwoods creature but certainly it could be an alien.

This is the FFA, not the shark pool. Dont take everything so seriously.

They rally seemed to push the aliens angle in the first episode with the kid having the bright light, and they continue it on with the thing come out of his neck. i like how it is a story line, but very secondary and they don't get into it much at all. if they want to make the alien made up like she was drunk or a dreaming thing, i am not sure how they will explain the thing from Tate's neck. and the only thing i think that foreshadowed Cromwell a bit as a nazi was one of the times in one his speeches he really accentuated "jews", i think it was when he was checking into the alien from Tate's neck and he was slicing into it more.

either way, i think the season is doing real well too. yes it is a lot of random things they are throwing at once, but i love it that way. I do wonder what they will do with the Adam Levine storyline with him and his wife in the "present" day asylum, and what the kids dressing up like bloodyface (from this week) have to do with anything.

Enjoyed the episode but I think I realized watching it what is "missing" to me.

Last season was spent in the "now", with flashbacks to the past with their ghost entering the now.

This season has spent more time in the past with flash forward flashes to the "now".

Still enjoyable but that, IMO, is what is missing from season 1.

 im having a hard time figuring out why that matters

 seemed more of a ghost/horror story to me last season. This year, so far, has been more of gross horror than "spooky" horror.Again, enjoying it as it is very well done. Just finally figured why it felt different and slightly under whelming to me compared to last year.

This is why I am not enjoying this season as much as last, but am still liking it.

great episode last week.. this show is gettin good
Chloe Sveginy's stump creeps me the #### out. And the whole Bloody Face stuff is getting good
yesfor a while i thought bloody face was the nazi guy
We still don't know who the present day Bloody Face is- a 70-something year old Quinto is unlikely........unless it's a former lesbian-serial killer rapey love child all growns up. Is this show even THAT crazy to go there??

season one is available on netflix now. i've streamed the first three and find myself enjoying it quite a bit. i'm not usually one for horror genre but this is more creepy as hell than anything.

Now when I see that new Aaron Rodgers discount double check commercial, I freak out a littler. That little girl in class is a killer!

Show keeps getting better I think, at least for this season..Jessica Lange getting a smaller role (or none) I think is coinciding with Quinto getting a bigger role as Bloodyface. Also love that he is who Bloodyface ends up being, I think that really sets up the 2nd half of the season for a lot of things. Pretty clear the current scenes are a copycat of some sort, but Im hoping/guessing they lean more on that storyline as the season goes on.

I loved last season but didn't love episode 1 of this year. They are all sitting on my DVR taking up space.

Should I watch or delete. I think one episode didn't tape when sandy rolled through.

Thanks

Looks like they could be going there after all...I don't think this show has any boundaries at this point.Last night's episode a little disappointing in how Lara's back where she was a month ago. At least it buys her a little more time as they seem to be dropping characters left and right.

I'm gonna say its the kid that the reporter will soon have with the crazy dude. For some reason both of their names allude me.

I remember watching season one on the FX website but missed last night's episode... I went to FX and they don't seem to be streaming season two after an airing...

I missed the start of season 2, and don't really have the patience to catch up on all the past episodes. However, if there are any creepy sex scenes as there were in season 1, I'd really appreciate one of you fine folks letting me know. I'll go watch that episode.

1st episode had a very interesting beginning.. Simulated sect with girl strapped down and simulated Oral.. Then there was the making of the demon child

Episode 1 check!

Episode ?

Yeah last episode bored me to tears. I still cotend way too much going on between the devil, aliens, and a serial killer. The serial killer story is the only that interests me right now.

i read somewhere that there was supposed to be a hint during the episode of where the next season will take place, anybody catch anything?

I just got caught up with season two. I agree with shadyridr that it's kind of all over the place. There's no coherent story; they're just throwing a bunch of stuff at the wall. But it's entertaining enough.

what the hell was up with that song and dance number? I get that she was imagining it but it really went on way too long. Still enjoying the show but yeah, it's all over the place.

Almost every show devolves into this type of drivel. It's like everyone on board has to prove they have these singing and dancing chops in order to fulfill some requirement. I hate these type of episodes.

I take it this is done in one take, not spread out throughout the whole episode? I have it dvr'd so just need to know that when the singing starts I can skip forward without missing anything.. TIA
