Will Champ matchup with AJ all game? Champ seems to shutdown WR's. Any concern here?
Why?He's played every week.Kubiak's gametime decision call is just nonsense. There's been no evidence that AJ has suffered a setback.KYWill Andre play seems to be the more important question.

I get that but why risk his long term health with nothing on the line to play for? I am benching Andre for Nicks unless I hear that he is full go and even then I hesitate.Nothing to play for? It's his job!!!!
Shut down Bowe when Bowe was hot as hell a few weeks back (0 catches) and Cassel said pregame he was going to identify where Champ was every play (he shadowed Bowe all game) and throw elsewhere. Now I understand that AJ is a beast, and I wouldn't sit him if I owned him, but Champ is still very good and still gets a ton of respect from opposing players and coaches.I'm not sure it matters. I don't think that 2010 Bailey can be a shutdown guy against elite WRs anymore.
I have no doubt Andre would go out there if called on, but will Kubiak require him to go out there if he's not 100%?Nothing to play for? It's his job!!!!
Kubiak is coaching for his job. Also, Kubiak used to work in Denver. I don't think he wants to walk into mile high and lay an egg.Add to that AJ NOT being a wuss.I'd say the odds are 99.9% that AJ plays...as he has every other week. And if you look at the last AJ/Champ matchup, Champ didn't lock onto him.KYnothing to play for makes me look at it more seriouslyWhy?He's played every week.Kubiak's gametime decision call is just nonsense. Hope you're right, my alternatives are thin.I'd say the odds are 99.9% that AJ plays...as he has every other week.KY
Last week was the same as this week. He hasn't been 100 percent all year. Your comment does not make any sense. Yeah, and part of Bowe being so hot was when he had 186 yards receiving against Champ in Week 10. Patrick Crayton then put up 105 the next week. Austin Collie had 171 yards Week 3. And Andre Johnson is a hefty step above every single one of those guys. Johnson is also a bigger receiver than those guys as well with better hands and body control than Bowe.Shut down Bowe when Bowe was hot as hell a few weeks back (0 catches) and Cassel said pregame he was going to identify where Champ was every play (he shadowed Bowe all game) and throw elsewhere. Now I understand that AJ is a beast, and I wouldn't sit him if I owned him, but Champ is still very good and still gets a ton of respect from opposing players and coaches.I'm not sure it matters. The last time they played was in 2007 and AJ had 4 catches for 86 yards and a TD. On one of those catches he was tackled at the 1 so he was a yard away from a second TD on the day.AJ is playing, that much is a given. The bigger issue/problem is AJ vs. Champ. What has AJ done against Denver in years past? Someone in this thread said that they were benching AJ for Nicks. Well, most people don't have AJ, Nicks (and then another WR that is better than both of them) on their roster. But perhaps you are better off starting Austin over AJ. Or Mike Wallace over AJ etc... Basically, does anyone think that Champ will shadow AJ and hold AJ to something like 4 catches for 50 yards?
He wasn't GTD the past few weeks. Look, I'm not saying hes going to be out, I'm just going to be checking on it come kick off. We have no idea what happened this week after the game. If you're confident enough to plug and play then that's your call.As for Champ if AJ is playing, I'm playing him.Last week was the same as this week. He hasn't been 100 percent all year. thanks for the input TDPeople have speculated that Kubiak was just saying GTD to get the media off of his back for the remainder of the week and when asked the level of concern regarding Andre's ankle he said something to the effect of it was the same level of concern as it was at this time last week. Seems to make sense to me and I think he will play.
And Champ is not the same player he was in 2007. Regardless, you have to start the guy unless you can plug in guys like White, Wayne or Nicks over him.GroveDiesel said:The last time they played was in 2007 and AJ had 4 catches for 86 yards and a TD. I don't know, but I like it.theplayer11 said:A.J. needs 284 yards over the final two games to become the first receiver in NFL history with 1,500 yards in three consecutive seasons. Kubiak confirms that the record is meaningful and has been "on our mind" this week.Is he serious?...who is thinking of this meaningless record?...AJ, coach?..both?..loser mentality
yeah..if he or they are thinking about some 3 year record over AJ's ankle... Maybe a 1 year season record, but some 3 year record that no one cares about?(but themselves apparently)When you're having a season like the Texans are, it's nice to have a few bright spots at least. Having the leading rusher and receiver qualifies. You really gonna call out one of the classiest/best WRs in the game for a loser mentality?
