Andrew Luck..... Love fest inside.... (2 Viewers)

I'm all in on Luck this year.  I think he is a smart guy and he learns every year.  He'll take less hits this year but continue to fling it.  I would love to see indy really add a true 1 for wr, a bigger body that catches everything, but other than that they will be in some shootouts this year

Good thing monecrief is going to end up as that true #1

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe expects Andrew Luck's next contract to be a four-year deal worth over $100 million.
The Colts have the option to franchise tag Luck in 2017, but the two sides are working to complete an extension before training camp. Luck would be smart to take a four-year deal so he can hit the market again when he's still in his prime at age 30. The former No. 1 pick is expected to become the first player in NFL history to sign a deal worth more than $25 million in annual salary.

Did some say Luck ia the #1 fantasy qb for 2016?! Wow some people really buy thw hype huh? One good year does not a fantasy stud make. He's been a borderline  bust since entering the NFL when you take in the fact that he was everyone's cant miss player of the century..gets hurt a lot. Turns the ball over a lot.

Doesnt throw a heck of a lot of TDs.

I'll bet Eli , Rivers, Brady even missing 4 games , Carson Palmer, Rodgers, Big Ben all throw more TDs than Luck in '16.

I'll go on a limb and say Bortles will too, and Osweiler. Indy cant pass protect Luck gets the snot knocked out of himself.

Oh , and he's on cover of  the 2016 fantasy index magazine ..he's toast.the jinx continues.

The Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder says he has been "a bit underwhelmed" by Andrew Luck through the first week of training camp.
Holder clarified that he was "underwhelmed, not concerned" with Luck's play so far. Luck's ability to bounce back from an injury-ruined and ultimately ineffective 2015 campaign is one of the biggest storylines of the 2016 fantasy season. We like Luck's chances of making a big rebound, but notes like this from beat reporters watching practice almost every day are worth passing along.

According to the Indy Star's Zak Keefer, Andrew Luck has had an "uneven" training camp so far.
This jibes with observations from other Colts beat writers. Per Keefer, Luck has "made some throws that only a few quarterbacks in the league can make," but also "plenty he'd love to have back." Keefer does believe Luck has begun to shake off some early-camp "rust" and "looked like his old self lately." Whether Luck can bounce back from a concerning 2015 campaign remains one of the biggest storylines of the 2016 fantasy football season. Luck, T.Y. Hilton, and Donte Moncrief are all being drafted as if Luck will rediscover his previous-year form.

Where has the love fest gone?

I'm rolling the dice on Luck to bounce back in a big way this year.  But the O-line has me concerned.  Still I see a very talented and mobile QB who has weapons in the passing game and will have to throw for the team to be competitive.

But the line and Luck's own recent play do not instill a lot of confidence right now.  At least confidence in terms of him being an elite FF QB this year.  What are people thinking headed into the season?

Signs point to bring overrated by the FF community IMO. I like him as a player but would not reach for his redraft ADP. I own him in dynasty and hope his oline shapes up enough to allow him to last the season. Indy needs to supply a running game in order to take some pressure off him however I do not have much hope of that happening this year.

I doubled down on him this year and the way their front looked against the Eagles did not make me feel like I made a smart decision.

I feel the same way.  All of the projections I have seen invariably rank him in the top 4 - some at #2.  This is a case where I hope my feeling is wrong.

Colts' Andrew Luck: Limited with shoulder injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2 hrs ago) Luck (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Luck has taken every snap with the first-team offense in the preseason and training camp without any issues, so this injury is likely minor. Still, check to see it isn't something more serious the next two days in practice.

Colts GM Ryan Grigson said Andrew Luck (shoulder) is "all good."
"I’m just saying he’s going to be ready for the game this weekend," Grigson continued, "and we have a plan that we think’s best for him, and one he feels good about, and that’s what we’re doing." It sounds like the Colts could limit Luck in practice all year, but his Week 1 status is not in any doubt. He is a high-end QB1 against the Lions.

Where there is smoke there is fire. I have a bad feeling about this. Big implications this season to Hilton and Moncrief as well if this ends up being a serious issue.

Andrew Luck completed 31-of-47 passes for 385 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Colts' Week 1 loss to Detroit.
He scrambled three times for 21 yards. Following major preseason concerns regarding the Colts' offensive line, Luck was well protected against the Lions. He took only two sacks and was mostly comfortable in a clean pocket, most notably finding Phillip Dorsett repeatedly on deep-ball connections and Donte Moncrief and T.Y. Hilton closer in. Luck's four TDs were good to No. 2 TE Jack Doyle (twice), Dwayne Allen, and Moncrief. Luck engineered a valiant comeback after the Colts fell behind 21-3 early, but it wasn't enough as Indianapolis' injury-depleted defense simply could not stop the Lions' offense. Still, it was a very promising game for Luck's going-forward fantasy outlook. Unfortunately, he'll have to deal with Denver's defense next.

He looked like a different player.  That defense is so bad though.  I'm not sure they can rely on those quick strike drives like that all year.

For now I just hope he makes it out of Denver alive.  That Indy line protected him pretty well against the Lions.

This is from Will Carroll last Friday, who was the one who reported on the frayed Labrum, basically saying health concerns were overstated.

"There’s a lot of misinformation about Andrew Luck. He has been great and now he has a big contract, but the injury concerns from last year have to be addressed. His kidney laceration has healed without issue. Unless he gets hit like that again, it won’t recur. The shoulder is more of a concern. He has a small tear (or fraying) in the labrum of his throwing shoulder.

Don’t freak out, though. It’s small and asymptomatic. He can make all the throws and doesn’t have any issues right now. Could it get worse? Yes, of course, if he is overworked or if he takes another big hit. You might notice a theme. The Colts’ offensive line has to protect Luck if this is all going to go well. In Week 1, we’ll get a good gauge as they take on a tough Lions front seven."

I was going to post this before the game but didnt get around to it.  Off to a good start.  Let's hope he can stay healthy and the Colts D continues to be a sieve.

ProFootballFocus:

"Strong offensive line play allows Luck to go to work

One of the reasons for Luck’s struggles last season could have been poor offensive line play, which caused him to constantly worry about pressure and affect his play. That wasn’t the case today, as the unit played very strong against a very good Lions’ defensive line. The Colts offensive line allowed just one sack and seven total pressures on 51 passing plays. That pass-blocking efficiency of 89.2 ranks fourth among all teams that have played so far this week. The left side duo of LT Anthony Castonzo and LG Jack Mewhort was particularly strong, allowing just one hit and one hurry combined."

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/09/25/chargers-colts-creating-strange-dynamics-in-las-vegas/

...Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. And that’s apparently triggering some unusual dynamics regarding the betting line for the game.

The contest has gone from Indianapolis being a three-point favorite to a pick-’em proposition. In some locations, the three-point swing was preceded by the game being taken off the board.

So maybe Vegas knows something about Luck that the rest of us don’t, yet.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said there is no serious issue with Andrew Luck's shoulder.
No serious issue is not the same as no issue. Still, Irsay said Luck will not need surgery, and the shoulder will not cause him to miss a game this year. The Colts will continue to manage Luck's practice reps all season, but there is no reason to believe it will affect him on Sundays.

Chud's system of throwing to RBs a good deal doesn't look so good with this duo of Gore and Ferguson.

They have some big play guys in Hilton and Dorsett. But they need to get that OL in order. It's really bad. Luck on a better team would be an elite QB imo. I get he is overhyped. But he is one of the better gun slingers in the league easily.

"I honestly think Andrew Luck's playing pretty good, despite some of the O-line woes that they're having," Wayne said. "A lot of people are wanting to criticize Andrew Luck instead of really, in my opinion, going after what the big problem is. I think that big problem is a lot of the front office decisions. Whether it's draft picks or it is free-agent picks, they've missed on a lot of guys.

"They went in free agency they got LaRon Landry and got rid of Antoine Bethea who is a Pro Bowler; that was a swing and a miss. They had Arthur Jones who hasn't found his way in there yet. You still have Trent Cole, who is now out, who hadn't given them anything last year. You went and got his teammate Todd Herremans from Philly, also who didn't give them anything. So they missed on so many guys and also picks in the draft. You have Bjoern Werner who is now out of the league. Khaled Holmes who was playing center from USC -- he came and left. There were so many decisions that they made in there and they just missed. And don't forget the Trent Richardson trade. They got rid of a first-round pick to bring in Trent Richardson who ended up not doing anything for them ...

I agree with this assessment. The biggest problem with the Colts is their GM. To compound that, Pagano does not look like he is a good enough coach to make things work with lesser talent. He needs the GM to bring in good talent. Luck will be just fine if he has a better line and a better running game. Right now he is on pace to get sacked 60 times this year. If the Colts don't get rid of Grigson after this season, they are just jeopardizing (and wasting) their greatest asset going forward, which is Andrew Luck.

It's Luck's bye week. Who are we going to start?

I picked up Wentz last week (12 team league). Home versus Atlanta so hoping for a high scoring shoot out.

Picked Bradford up 3 weeks ago because he was putting up a solid floor every game but flacco is on waivers now so I'm hoping to get him since his matchup against Cleveland is pretty good

Someone cut Palmer last week so I scooped him up. v Niners they should be able to run at will, but hey, maybe Palmer gets some love too. Seems like an easy 250 and 2 if the Niners can put up a fight?

Luck and Carr on bye so I'm going with Wentz in a must win game. Alex Smith is my other QB.

Tex
