Plants vs Zombies is free today from Amazon App Store for Android phones. Unfortunately, it's not compatible for all phones, for example, it doesn't work with my original Moto Droid. :(
Here's the link with details for you guys that can use it though. It's a great game. http://kotaku.com/5806966/android-owners-can-grab-plants-vs-zombies-today-for-free
Oof. I've been debating whether or not to install Liberty.I think you just settled it for me.I think I have a problem. I recently rooted my Droid x. I thought I followed the instructions on how to install Liberty 2.0.1 but I had some minor issue. Finally I got liberty installed but I don't know if I got myself backed up properly. The problem is once Liberty booted up I lost my contacts, my textx, and allmost all of my apps. The most important app I lost was tvshowsstream because I paid for it and now it can't be found in the app market but when I look in my system folder I can see all the apps that are no loner listed where apps are normally listed. What did I do?
Did you check and see if your apps are reloading from the market? When I just installed Liberty a week or so ago , all the apps reloaded from the market. The contacts , if your using a google account will resync when you set up your phoneI think I have a problem. I recently rooted my Droid x. I don't know what you mean by reloading. They are in the market and look like it is recognized as a app that I have but I wish I didn't have to go back to the market for each one.Yes, once I resynched my contacts came back.Did you check and see if your apps are reloading from the market? are you still rooted? if so, go to TiBackup and go to backup/restore. hit the menu button and choose "batch" it will give you an option to restore all of your apps and/or data.if you aren't still rooted, just re-root and then restore.'flyingsushi said:I thought I did?'-fish- said:did you backup your apps with titanium backup or something similar?'flyingsushi said:I think I have a problem. I bet I didn't get backed up properly because it is not in my apps. I got TB back from the app store and followed your directions and when I got to the final screen there is nothing there and I tapped run and no changes. So am I screwed? Its not that bad. turn off notifications in the default text app. both will still have the messages, but you'll only get the notification from handcent. Can anyone tell me how to make a different app the default text app? I can't seem to find a setting for that on my Droid X. I prefer Handcent over the default, but every time a text comes in it pops up the default app.
you may have lost it. if you're rooted, you should get droid x bootstrap recovery. once you have it, you can make a nandroid backup that gets saved on your sd card (or you can move it to your computer). once you have that backup, you can always get back to where you were with all apps and data intact. it was a lifesaver for me when I fell off a boat last weekend with my phone in my pocket.I bet I didn't get backed up properly because it is not in my apps. That doesn't do it. I don't get the default app notification in my status bar and it doesn't play a sound, but it still pops up with the message.turn off notifications in the default text app. both will still have the messages, but you'll only get the notification from handcent. Can anyone tell me how to make a different app the default text app? go to settings>applications>manage applications>all then scroll to messaging, tap it, and then clear defaults, then when you click on handcent it should ask if you want to set a default. That doesn't do it. Best app I have ever tried. Definitely worth purchasing.I use DoggCatcher, too. Very satisfied with it for $6.99.No one (myself included) like pay apps, but I was not a big fan of the Google listen app and wanted to find something out there for my podcasts.
I found DoggCatcher and have been very happy with it. $6.99 is a little steep but worth the $ in my opinion. I also broke down and bought Power Amp, great app for all of the music I have on my phone.![]()

Probably the one app I use on a daily basis.
I like DoggCatcher, but have been having the same problems with it as google listen with FBG podcasts not reading correct time elapsed and overlapping when I pause and restart later. Amazon has Pocket Casts as its free app of the day today, so I downloaded it and am going to give that a try.Best app I have ever tried. Definitely worth purchasing.I use DoggCatcher, too. yahoo messenger is pretty good if both parties are on wifi. It's meh on 3GIs there any Android-based video calling apps worth a darn? (I'm on Sprint, so I can't use Skype). I've tried several (fring, tango, etc.) and haven't had good luck. Any ideas?
Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is an anti-virus app a good idea for android phones or just an unnecessary resource hog?just got a htc incredible. do I need to install a antivirus program? which one?

try Menu/more/reply all... which does not show up if something is just sent to you.Is there a way with Android to see if a text was sent specifically to me.... or if I was just included in a mass text to tons of people?
I recently started using Swype full time - I dig it. I had used the stock Froyo keyboard one prior to that. Check this out: How To Find The Right Android Keyboard For YouP.S. Today's Amazon Free App of the Day is pretty cool - it is a Folder Organizer. I dig it so far.Anyone have a replacement keyboard they like?
I like Swift. It learns your habits from existing email/texts and predicts words based on that. Just seems to get better and better at knowing how to finish my sentences which means i just tap the space bar to accept the words.Things used a lot 'I'm on my way' end up being - type the I, select I'm then space, space, space sendAnyone have a replacement keyboard they like?

I saw that, I am going to check it out.UPDATE: downloaded and installed. Not sure I am going to test it out yet though, as mentioned above, I just started using swype and am digging that at the moment. There are some features on SwiftKey that I really dig though, I am sure that if I quit swype I'd roll with SwiftKey over the stock android keyboard.Speaking of Swiftkey....SwiftKey X is FREE in the Amazon Appstore today!![]()
Downloaded it, set it as the default for a bit (over Swype.) Just want to see if it is as good as the hype. Fairly impressed, although I have to get over the desire to swype. I do find myself having to retype words in swype a few times or remove words (yoy instead of you, for example) that it predicts.'Jaysus said:I saw that, I am going to check it out.UPDATE: downloaded and installed. I've been using Cardio Trainer and I love it. Seems like either Cardio Trainer or Endomondo would work just fine for most people.I really like endomondo for keeping track of time/distance/etc. when taking walks.

I think a lot of them are apps that sit on top of the stock calendar. I installed several widgets and calendar apps. Stuck with simple calendar widget and touch calendar free. What is a visually nice calendar app that syncs with Google Calendar?
