i drafted this guy early in the year, then i read about his change to SLB but i decided to keep him on my roster

he has had a great year so far, mostly because a lot of LB got hurt in Buf

what can i expect from him next year ?

should i sell this guy or keep him ?

He should be a solid low end LB2 or thereabouts, in FBG scoring or similar. He is consistent, was ranked 21st in 2005, is 19th right now, and would have been in the low 20's last year if not for missing 4 games. I really don't see any reason to not hang onto him. It's hard to argue with his numbers. He is solid and consistent. I consider him a mid 20's ranked LB or so.

expect more of the same. he'll still play in the nickel after Poz returns, and he'll probably wind up as the dime backer too so he'll never leave the field unlike most SLBs. Poz might steal a few more tackles than DiGiorgio does, but Crowell could get more big plays to make up for it.

Bumping this thread to keep the scheme thread relatively clean of specific 2008 outlook.I agree with what Aaron posted last month. The Bills are reportedly unhappy with Keith Ellison's play as a starter, but I can't see them drafting a rookie so highly that the nickel package (Crowell/Poz) would be challenged. There could be some question about whether the Bills will use a ROLB/LOLB alignment if a name rookie was drafted, but my guess would be that the SLB/WLB alignment sticks next year.

What about the options of DiGiorgio in the middle and Poz moving to WLB, or vice versa?

I believe that Paz was an OLB at Penn State.

I suppose it's possible that DiGiorgio played well enough to make the Bills consider something like that, but the team seemed to have both locked in at MLB last preseason. Aaron may know something different, but the general feeling I'm reading is that the team wants Ellison and DiGiorgio as depth and will look to acquire an OLB-type in the offseason.

Alot of the coaching staff likes the speed Dig plays with and also the heart the kid had coming into this year.I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to slide Dig over to the strong side and Crowell will play the weak. All of this of course if they don't bring in a LB to take the position.

I know poz went down early... but you cannot overlook his play... the games he played he was a tackling machine... DiGiorgio was a great fill-in.. but i expect him to play back up to poz... he's their future at that position and just like any other position it would be stupid to not give him the full reps to get the experience under his belt.

In regards to Crowell... i expect him to play the WLB... and keep Ellison on the strong side... Crowell looked like the the quicker more athletic linebacker and the saying goes "if it ain't broke... don't fix it"

How do I find out (linebackers) who plays in the nickel and dime packages on each team? This info would be extremely helpful. Fantasy football is all about opportunities and we all know that if there on sitting on the sideline then they can't help your fantasy team. I really noticed this with a few of my LB'ers this year when they played pass happy teams. This is an area that I really want to brush up on this offseason...Please Help!

I let that thread slide partway through the season. I'll bump it with some current speculations.
