As a spinoff of Doug's game, find the best combo (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE) by franchise that played their entire career for that franchise.

For example, Redskins:

QB Sammy Baugh 22,211

RB Larry Brown 8,360

RB Cliff Battles 4,057

WR Charley Taylor 10,598

WR Hugh Taylor 5,240

TE Jerry Smith 5,496

Total 55,962

Of course, you'll probably either need to go way back or use current players that just haven't played for another team yet.

Steelers:

Terry Bradshaw 27989

John Stallworth 8824

Hines Ward 8420

**** Hoak 5417

Barry Foster 4747

(Running Backs are difficult -- Franco Harris closed his career in Seattle, Bettis began career in STL, Hodge ended career in CHI. Also note that if FWP gets 1409 combined yards this season, he will pass BFoster)

Bennie Cunningham 2879

58,276

Cowboys:

QB Troy Aikman 33958

RB Don Perkins 7527

RB Julius Jones 3365

WR Michael Ervin 11905

WR Tony Hill 8072

TE Doug Cosbie 3728

Total yards: 68555

Browns

QB Brian Sipe 23713

RB Jim Brown 12312

RB Leroy Kelly 7274

WR Gary Collins 5299

WR Ray Renfro 5508

TE Ozzie Newsome 7980

Total 62,068

Better than I thought.

Another One,

MIAMI:

Dan Marino 61448

Tony Nathan 7135

Lorenzo Hampton 2903

Nat Moore 7546 7795

Mark Duper 8859

Bruce Hardy 2455

Total 90595

The New York Football Giants;

Phil Simms - 33,462

Tiki Barber - 15,631

Rodney Hampton - 8,206

Jeremy Shockey - 3,609

Amani Toomer - 8,267

Lionel Manuel - 3,985

Total - 73,160

KC

QB

Bill Kenney - all of his stats are in KC; was the #3 QB in WAS his final season and never saw the field - 17277

RB

Christian Okoye 4897

Ed Podolak 4451

Larry Johnson is @ 4205 and will bump Podolak off this list soon

WR

Otis Taylor 7306

Henry Marshall 6545

TE

Tony Gonzalez 8710

With Kenney it is 49,186....take Kenney out and it gets ugly @ QB.

Frank Gifford totaled 9043 yards. You could probably even justify using him at WR over Manuel, since he played both RB and FL. If not, he at least beats out Hampton.

That's going to be tough to beat. If Denver can use Elway, they have Elway (54882), TD (8887), and Rod Smith (11737) totaling 75506.

:lmao: I made the school boy mistake of forgetting that Doug's excellent Historical Dominator goes back no further than 1960. :lmao:

PATRIOTS:

QB -- Steve Grogan (29,062)

RB -- Sam "Bam" Cunningham (7,358)

RB -- Larry Garron (5,483 ... Tony Collins played 1 game with the Dolphins to end his career)

WR -- Troy Brown (6,544)

WR -- Gino Cappelletti (4,591 yds., plus 176 FG and 342 PAT)

TE -- Lin Dawson (1,233 ... ugh!, only because Graham is gone)

Total: 54,271

Iggles

QB McNabb 24806

RB Westbrook 5888

RB Anthony Toney 3325

WR Mike quick 6459 (Carmichael played for Dallas for one season and had one catch. Otherwise this would be about 2000 yards more)

WR Pete Retzlaff 5783

TE LJ Smith 1991 (Two TEs that would have beaten him out played one season in another city, each with just 1 catch that year)

Total: 48,252

Interesting to note that three are still on the roster.

ColtsPeyton Manning 38287
If Manning ends up playing for another team at some point, then the Colts will be left with Art Schlichter at QB!Well, more likely the slot will just end up rotating to whoever is starting at that point, but right now my calculations have Schlichter as the #2.

According to my calculations, the Seahawks' QB is Seneca Wallace. Either him or Kelly Stouffer (who was drafted by, but never played for, the Cardinals). Am I missing someone?

Seahawks:

QB: Wallace 1217

RB: Alexander 10148

RB: Mack Strong 2274 (Lots of options barely fail- may not be the guy)

WR: Largent: 13172

WR: Blades: 7776

Total: 42,898

I'm pretty sure the 4 other than Strong are right.

Ninuhrs:

QB: Brodie 31548

RB1: Gore 2303

RB2: Hofer 1746

WR1: Clark 6750

WR2: Taylor 5598

TE: Jones 5195

Total: 53,140

I'm not entirely certain on the RBs (which are rather pathetic), but I think the rest are right.

You got the RBs, but you forgot about Billy Wilson at WR. How could you forget Billy Wilson???!!!?

Jaguars - this might set a new low

QB - Byron Leftwich 9042

RB - Fred Taylor 11718

RB - MJD -1377 (Stacey mack played 1 year in houston)

WR - Reggie Williams 1329 (Jimmy Smith was on Cowboys/Eagles first)

WR - Matt jones 1075

WR - Ernest WIlford 1476

TE - George Wrightster

Interesting that Wilford has more career yards than the 2 first rounders.

TE - George Wrightster 692

That's not low. The Ravens (now that Jamal Lewis is in Cleveland) barely have as much as Taylor alone: Kyle Boller 6454Jason (Who?) Brookins 596Musa Smith 403Mark Clayton 1413Randy Hymes 578Todd Heap 3658for a grand total of 13102Edit to add: Now that Carr is gone, I assume Houston will be the lowest.

Wells did play for the Colts during last years pre-season, but was released prior to opening day.

Don Woods played for the 49ers for a season. I think Terrell Fletcher is the guy.Eric Parker instead of Jones at WR.

If we're going by "NFL career":Buffalo Bills

RB: Roland Hooks 2,632

WR: Elbert Dubenion 5,620

WR: Jerry Butler 4,333

And, yes, I'm truly bored.
