I wouldnt downgrade Warner because of Boldin, I think Breaston would normally step up. However, the weather would concern me.Buffaloes said:uuuugh. Between this and the weather is anyone else significantly downgrading Warner?
http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/playerpag...8&sport=NFLESPN's John Clayton reports that there is a "good chance" Anquan Boldin (shoulder) will miss Sunday's game at New England.
Clayton says the Cardinals' staff wants to give Q a week off after putting too much on his plate, which they think affected his play. They had Boldin playing QB in the Wildcat in addition to his normal receiver duties, and it may have impacted his focus. Boldin then banged his shoulder in last Sunday's loss to Minnesota. Expect Steve Breaston to start against the Patriot
This is my biggest concern. I won't be happy at all if I see Leinart come out for the second half. Frankly, since I have Leinart on my roster, I'd rather they just decide to sit Warner from the start.Ketamine Dreams said:I wonder how long some of the other starters will stay in? Wow, I've heard of resting your starters, but New England is only going to start one player? Who is it, Troy Brown?About the only thing i see

i'm not quite as confident...arizone does need to win to regain momentum, but they would much rather win a playoff game. historically, west coast teams have fared terribly traveling 3000 miles to play on the road. now add in terrible weather conditions and i think ARZ would much rather get healthy and regain momentum when they are back in the warm confines of their home stadium vs. seattle...Hmmmm I love how people jump to conclusions. Boldin might very well play. Dude had his faced busted up and came back in what, 3 weeks? And STILL put up Gaudy numbers.Dude is a BEAST and I wouldn't be surprised if he plays and plays well at that.
i agree that this game can help them prepare, but if your star play is hurting and runs the risk of further injury to the point where he could miss significant time (i.e. more than just a meaningless game), then your primary concern is health and preparation for Round 1 of the playoffs.since boldin is a tough mother#@%@@#, i suspect he'll try to play and maybe even get in the game. i'm just not optimistic that (1) he'll play a significant amount of time (either re-injures or gets pulled early) or (2) be productive in the conditions forecasted. Then why play their starters at all then? And what makes you think they won't play in these conditions again in the second round? They are best served playing to prepare for these condidtions again if need be.
True, I'm refering more to assertions that Kurt will sit at some point in the game. I don't see why they would do that when they have so much to improve on to prepare for the playoffs.i agree that this game can help them prepare, but if your star play is hurting and runs the risk of further injury to the point where he could miss significant time (i.e. more than just a meaningless game), then your primary concern is health and preparation for Round 1 of the playoffs.since boldin is a tough mother#@%@@#, i suspect he'll try to play and maybe even get in the game. i'm just not optimistic that (1) he'll play a significant amount of time (either re-injures or gets pulled early) or (2) be productive in the conditions forecasted. Then why play their starters at all then? agree...i'd be worried too about sitting warner after a half or so...leinart conveys no confidence...glad my opponent has fitzTrue, I'm refering more to assertions that Kurt will sit at some point in the game. If it's ppr (especially) I wouldn't be that confident going up against Fitz with no Boldin myself.agree...i'd be worried too about sitting warner after a half or so...leinart conveys no confidence...glad my opponent has fitzTrue, I'm refering more to assertions that Kurt will sit at some point in the game. Which is another indicator the Cards aren't coming to NE to lay down even if they have less to play for regarding playoff seeding. After their recent terrible outings, they should be more motivated to win the next two games as momentum/confidence builders. Also they may play in NE like conditions again (provided they make it to the second round of the playoffs) so this game would help prepare them for that scenario.I'm stating the obvious, but I'm sure they didn't just bring him on the trip to be a cheerleader or give the Patriots something to think about. No need to take a guy on a long plane ride away from your rehab facilities if you don't think he can play. They may decide to sit him in the end (it would be better for me if they did), but someone in that organization (maybe Q himself?) thinks he has a good shot to play.
ROTOWORLD: Anquan Boldin-WR-Cardinals Dec. 21 - 11:03 am et ESPN's John Clayton reports that Anquan Boldin (shoulder) is unlikely to play Sunday and may miss Week 17 too.The Cardinals have taken the mindset that they don't want to risk players getting hurt before the playoffs.
