Anthony Fasano top 10 TE? (1 Viewer)

Don't shoot the messenger!!

Dolphins beat writer Ben Volin believes that Anthony Fasano could be a top-ten fantasy tight end this season.Volin projects over 600 receiving yards for Fasano and "6-8 touchdowns." It's an extremely optimistic guess, but it's nice to see beat writers talking fantasy football. We're anticipating about 400 yards and 3-4 scores for Fasano.Source: Palm Beach Post

I like Fasano's situation and drafted him late in a startup dynasty league.

Not that it means everything, but isn't he still 2nd string behind David Martin?

It was an intriguing situation for Fasano before Pennington, and it's even better now. Low risk, high reward.

Been a favorite late round target of mine this year as a TE2 (if other TE's got taken too early, or better value was there when I considered TE2's)

As a guy that bit on Scheffler - you've got my attention. :lmao:
I'm w/ you here, though I did also take Fasano in the last round as my TE2. That's what I get for waiting till R13/18 to go TE...Phins D looks improved, but they will still be playing from behind and throwing a lot more than they'd like. Add in Penny who isn't a 'long ball' threat, and a QB who can read a defense / check down - and I'm reasonably optimistic. Still going to work the WW and look for a trade if Scheffler vanishes though. Fasaon could turn into a decent bye week filler, but I doubt many owners want to start him regularly.

I really like Fasano too. I did reluctantly trade him and A. Pittman for Scheffler in a 14 team 2ppr TE dynasty. I am willing to gamble on Scheffler over Fasano at this point, but what do I know?

Buy Scheffler Buy Fasano.

:fishing:

ND TE's do not translate well into NFL success..and he's probably going to be used as a blocking TE more than anything else..

Not making a comparison or anything and am admittedly going old school here: Mark Bavaro is a Notre Dame TE that made good for himself.

Nope
Guess NFL.com is out of date. Still listing Martin as #1 while miamidolphins.com has Fasano as #1.

I'm on board the Fasano wagon. With Ginn and Ricky/Ronnie, Fasano could see quite a few targets in the middle field. I don't see him having a huge ypc average, but the addition of Pennington should only increase Fasano's value as a safety net/chain mover.

NFL.com is always out of date
The NFL took back all the team websites to some degree. Some of the same content(roster, depth chart, rss feeds) will be at both team sites and the main NFL sites soon. This prob should be over with soon.

he's off the a great start

I have that "I knew it" feeling with this guy, have him on almost every FF team. Feels good to have a "hit" with all the misses

I drafted or traded for this guy in every single league I am in. I even started him this week in Hyper Active 1 against Peens. In another league I started Keller over him :bag: and in another I went with KWII. I have the feeling he's going to be my starter in the two leagues I don't have KWII every week....

I just put a blind bid in for him, going to drop Keller or Boss. I bid high.
That's funny because in the league I started Keller, Fasano and Boss are my other two TE's. Yeah, Fasano is going to be the starter from here on out....Guy was a Mackey award finalist his senior season. Was in a pro style O and had an NFL caliber QB throwing to him. The problem was the situation he landed in. Now all he has to do beat out Martin? I think I could beat out Martin and I'm a whopping 5'10" and 210 with something like a 6.4 forty and about a 24 inch vertical leap and slightly above a average hands....

Miami threw for 130-140 yards and 2 TDs to the TE today. Martin had a 50 or so and a TD

Who says Pennington doesn't have a strong arm? OK, maybe this confirms it....Can we have the first ever TE2 on a team that is worthy of a start every week? Then again, who else could he throw to?

I'd be interested in seeing how TE's have fared historically being a primary option on a team with a limited supporting cast and what kind of ceiling to expect over the course of a season?

Scheffler in a dynamic offense where he is a role player or Fasano in a poor offense as an immediate threat?

(*non ppr)

tony gonzales comes to mind.... ( not that fassano is as good as gonzales)

Fasano will be gold especially if your in a PPR league

Chad Pennington's thought process every time he drops back

Ball is snapped, Chad drops back

Thought 1: Holy #### my line sucks

Thought 2: Is Ginn open? Of course not. (or he's so far down field Chad knows he can't get the ball there)

Thought 3: Throw to Fasano

Thought 4: Ok Fasano has 2 guys on him...guess I'll throw to Martin

Thought 5: Laveranues...my love for you is eternal.

Thought 6: Great...Martin dropped the ball...note to self...just throw it to Fasano from now on.

I had T.Heap and V.Davis....Fasano was on the waiver wire this week.

I know it's only Week 1 and it might be a "panic" move, but I dropped Heap and picked up Fasano. When I drafted Heap, I said "let's just hope he can stay healthy for awhile". Week one: -1.5 points and a hurt back :hey:

Goodbye "headache Heap".... I'll let somebody else worry about him every week.

:lmao:Dropped Gaffney and picked up Fasano this week to start over Owen Daniels. We'll see if he continues that kind of target pace. Targeted Fasano in the subscriber contest as great value.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I dropped Devin Hester :hophead: (at least he was a 16th rounder)Let's hope great minds think alike :lmao:

I dropped Heap for Fasano also, and felt good about it.

Dropped Scheffler for him. I think he's good for at least 4 catches a game. I do not see Scheffler with that many catches a game. In a ppr, catches matter a lot

I'll say 68 catches, 700 yards, 8 scores

Ginn isn't going to catch dink and dunk passes. Fasano is a steal this year.

If Fasano isn't available in your league, look at John Carlson of the Seahawks. IMO, he will be the top waiver wire add for this next week as far as TE's go.

By the end of the season, Fasano will be ahead of Heap, Olsen, and Vernon Davis on most dynasty TE boards. He will probably be equal to what Chris Cooley is just below the elite (Gates, Witten, Winslow). BUY BUY BUY !!

I am tempted to drop Derek Hagan for Fasano. The only problem is that Hagan is now in the starting lineup. He could finally come into his own.

For those of you current and prospective Fasano owners that don't use CBS:

The Dolphins released starting FB Boomer Grigsby on Monday after telling him they were going to use their tight ends more. That could be great news for TE Anthony Fasano, who could now see the field on practically every down.

I snared both Fasono and Rosario for $26 and $16 respectively in a blind bid waiver-wire transaction ($100 allotment) to add to Owen Daniels. I dropped V. Davis; Martz is talking crap about no guarranteed receptions. Rubbish!! I don't have time for his nonsense; I'm tryining to earn 1 million bucks. Sheessshhh!!!!
