Anthony Gonzalez (1 Viewer)

The day us owners of AG in dynasty leagues have been waiting for is here. With Harrison not making the trip to Jacksonville, and unlikely to be a Colt next season, Gonzalez is now a top 20 WR. I also think the Colts offense will run more smoothly without Harrison in the lineup. He was a great player, but he hasnt looked like himself this year, and was probably hurting the offense more than helping.

I'm still considering starting him tonight, but have zero confidence. My other options are not good. Harrison has been hobbled and ineffective, and AG hasn't even been able to beat him out. AG has been targeted 7 times in the past 3 weeks combined. I don't know why people think he's ready for a big game. Anything more than 60 yards tonight will be a surprise to me. I hope I'm wrong.

He's not been on the field as often with Harrison, Wayne, and Clark playing most of the snaps. With Harrison out of the way, he will be on the field for most snaps. That will no doubt make a difference in his targets. Gonzalez has a very good chance to have a good game, but he may not. One thing for sure is that over the long haul he will be a top 20 WR with Harrison out of the way.

Im looking for 6-80-1 tonight. With Dallas Clark its tough for a #3 WR to get many targets. As the #2, i think those numbers are easily obtainable. I dont think AG was ever going to beat out Harrison, he is a legend there, and the Colts are not going to just bench him as long as he was somewhat productive. I was impressed with Gonzalez last year when he was filling in for Harrison, i see no reason to think he will do any worse this year.

This is championship week in most leagues. Gonzalez hasn't been a quality starter all year. Can you really pull the trigger now?

Of course it depends on who else you have, but i would have GonzoII as a top 20 WR this week.
Let's assume most teams have been rolling with a solid but unspectacular ppr option at WR3. A Derrick Mason or Lance Moore type...
Hypothetically speaking of course? I would easily play him over Mason, toss-up between him and Moore, but i would lean towards AG.ETA, just noticed you said PPR, which would make it closer with Mason, but probably puts a slightly bigger gap between Gonzalez and Moore.

Gonzalez or Bess for me, pretty sure im gonna stick in Gonzalez before I leave for work tonight.

first it was AG, which i get....... but Gonzoll?????? if you had typed his name it would have been one more letter.

As I posted before he is only 3 points worse than Harrison in one of my fantasy leagues. Their numbers are almost identical to this point. I think that he has huge upside as a WR3 and should have a nice night.

Considering him but i have holmes, ward or chester taylor available at flex....i can't see myself pulling the trigger but i do think he'll have a good night and be over 10pts.....of course that is only if he is on my bench....not playing for my opponent. :lmao:

I have been going back and forth between Gonzalez (personally, I don't think he's earned a nickname yet so I will call him by his name) and Braylon Edwards. I also have Dallas Clark on my roster. I think I am going with Edwards just because the matchup is better. Jags are 17th vs WR and 18th vs QB. Bungles are 26 and 23. Plus Edwards has gotten a huge number of looks from Dorsey. If he can just catch them.

(How obvious is it that I am still trying to talk myself into going with Edwards)

This thread was geared more towards his dynasty prospects, not for asking lineup advice. Like i said earlier in the thread, i look for him to get 6 for 80 with a pretty good shot at a TD. If you have someone you think will do better, play him, if not, start Gonzalez., but dont turn this into a WDIS thread.

My choice at WR3 this week...

A.Boldin (will he play if so how much?)

I.Bruce (against the Rams)

A.Gonzalez

A.Johnson and Clv.Johnson are my WR1 and WR2.

Think I'm going to let Gonzalez slide tonight, and decide on Sunday between Boldin or Bruce.

7 targets in the past three weeks is what I saw in another thread, including 0 catches vs Detroit when Manning passed for almost 300?

his dynasty prospects are the same as they were yesterday, last week, week 1, last December.... Harrison is old and Manning is good... do the math.

Again, nobody cares who you guys are starting, this thread is to discuss his dynasty prospects.
Again... We are now discussing his dynasty "prospects" for TONIGHT. Carry on.
Fair enough, i just heard on NFL network that he will be the #3 WR tonight, and that Roy Hall will lineup as the #2. WTF?
wat?
For what it is worth Mooch on NFL Network said Gonzalez will be the #2 WR.

ok, I'm rollin with Gonzo over Santana Moss.

W/ Harrison out and presumably gone next year, the Colts should be thinking about test driving the future - Gonzo's time is now.
