Any chance J. Harrison pushes Droughns? (1 Viewer)

I've been reading a bit about Jerome Harrison and seems to be having a very solid camp and turning some heads. IMO Droughns is a solid grind it out kind of back but nothing special. Can anyone forsee Harrison pushing Droughns for playing time as the season wears on or will he be strictly relegated to a 3rd down role? How are the other parts of Harrison's game? Recieving seems excellent, but how about blocking?
0% chance he pushes Droughns, he will be a nice change of pace back though. Droughns is the perfect style back for what Crenell wants to do with the offense. Smack mouth football.

Coaches also like production. If Harrison continues to produce, he will see more playing time.

Impressive moves, but there is really no footage of him running up the middle. Everything is in space. Now, sometimes in the vids his cuts are just so sharp that he creates his own space, but I'm still not sold on if he can be effective between the tackles without seeing it first.
I'd say he's been running b/t the tackles on at least 75% of his preseason carries.

With Suggs cut and Green on IR this might get interesting for J Harrison. He's basically guaranteed some touches now.

Of course Cleveland could still grab a cast-off veteran RB, otherwise they only have Jason Wright at RB on the roster with Droughns and Harrison.

Harrison has a 0% chance of beating Droughns this year, but Green has a 0% chance of taking Harrison's roster spot and about a 50% chance of taking Wright's.

First - injuries happen - so there is always a chance. But I think he's a good compliment to Rubes right now.

Personally, what I noticed from the video you provided was the increase in leg muscle mass on Harrison from college to his first pro game. I thought he had chicken legs in college, but it looks like the weight room is doing a body good. I like the shifty moves, I could see the galloping ghost comparisons.

Unfortunately its not the 40's and players are much faster. He runs upright, which at some point will get him killed. Usually fater players get away with it longer, so its a concern with him. Id like to see him get his pads lower.

After watching Emmitt for years, IMO speed definitely is overrated. I like Harrison (even without speed) to be a capable NFL back, but I'm not sure he's a finished product as a runner in the NFL just yet. I think give him 2-3 years to grow a little more.
