Any chance that Tebow becomes RB eligable? (1 Viewer)

I seriously doubt it, at least not on the respectable sites. Maybe on Yahoo or Espn, although I doubt even there.

If you want 2 QBs, then just make a 2-QB league! They are better anyway....

Even if he did get RB eligibility (which he won't), why on earth would you want to start him at RB? He'll get very few rushing yards and score very few touchdowns. That would be a complete waste of a valuable RB spot. If he's actually playing QB and getting passing yards, then he clearly won't be RB-eligible.

Eligibility can only be exploited when things work the other way, like when Marques Colston had TE eligibility but put up top-shelf WR numbers.

What type of numbers do you think Tebow will put up to warrant even using an RB spot on him? Are you predicting an Orton injury or Tebow starting?

I don't think his numbers will be great but lets say he was used sparingly as an H-Back while Orton started and then later Orton got hurt. You would be able to put him at RB/Flex and get some QB points out of him.

None of the FF sites take eligibility away mid-season. So if Tebow played a RB role and got RB eligility, then later got the starting QB job from Orton, he would still have his RB eligibility even though he was the starting QB.But yeah, there's no way he gets RB eligibility in the first place.

One thing to keep in mind is that the NFL only allows 1 QB on the field at a time - as defined by the one with the radio in the helmet (and the green sticker on the back).

If Tebow goes in along with Orton on a play, he will not be wearing the QB helmet so Orton will call the play.

I don't think it's as far fetched as others might think. Tebow has worked out at several positions in the past including slot receiver. He obviously has good hands (as demonstrated in the receiving of shotgun snaps) and would challenge a LB to get open.

If Vick was never RB eligible, why would Tebow be?
Vick played quarterback exclusively. He never appeared on the field with another quarterback (except for a couple trick plays in 2009, IIRC).But if the Broncos decide to put Tebow and Orton on the field at the same time, then one of them will have to be listed as a running back (or WR or TE).

I haven't seen any indication that the Broncos would use him as anything other than a QB. Why would they use him as an H-Back?

It's not like you have to have radio to snap the ball. Quarterback yes but...I'm just not going down that road-see Wildcat and rules.I agree I don't think it's far fetched but lean toward the WR part. I imagine the folks at MFL, RTS, Yahoo, ESPN etc don't want to classify him as another position as it's opening pandoras box for them. However, if he lines up wide many times, they will probably have to. At some point it will become "he should be a quarterback" which is irrelevant-only where he actually lines up is relevant. Think of all the Kiwi IDP guys that discussed him going from DE to OLB to DE. Where he should have lined up just didn't matter.

Didn't the Broncos say right after he was drafted he would developed exclusivly as a QB? Im sure that has some effect on his elegibilty and packages he is used in.

If he wears the #10 jersey, isn't he limited to playing QB, WR, TE, and kicker? Are there any rules that specifically limit where #10 is allowed to line up?
