Any reason to even start FWP this week? (1 Viewer)

Jags have owned the Steeler offensive line and Parker over the last 3 years. Why expect anything different when the oline is worse and the field conditions could be bad (FWP is not a mudder). He has 2 TDs all season and they don't have any confidence in the run game inside the 10 yard line.

I am thinking I shouldn't give it another thought. Sure it depends on what other options you have, but I would say even part time players would do better.

I may roll with Stecker.

I think people who bench FWP may regret doing so. He has not scored many TD but with 3 games still left it would not suprise me to see FWP end the season with 6TD (not including playoffs). The law of averages are in his favor here even if he has to score from a distance.

Even if he doesen't score the yardage has been solid. He does lead the league in rushing yards. So unless you have some serious powerhouse RBs to start over him I dont see how u bench FWP. A Denver RB need not apply. The Texans run defense is pretty good. At least as good as a JAX D minus Stroud (unless Ryans is a scratch).

JAX will not have the same success with their running game against the Steelers as they are used to. This will put additional pressure of Gerrard to keep the chains moving and could lead to turnovers. I do not see JAX being able to win TOP easily in this game like they are used to doing.

All of these things will help FWP. I don't see many scenarios where I would consider benching FWP

So now the "he is due" has changed to "the law of averages are in his favor"? Being that it is now week 15, he is about to run out of weeks for this to happen. I like Parker, but unfortunately he isn't used in the redzone like he has been in the past.

I am in the camp that believes you've got to start FWP unless you have some crazy talent at RB on your roster.

One word of caution: the weather in Pittsburgh is lousy, the field will be a mess and Parker had a hard time holding onto the ball against Cincy when the conditions were similar.

I hate doing this, but Im starting Brandon Jacobs over FWP this week. Ive been faithful to FWP all season and probably would have started him today too if it werent for the mucky field and the stinker he put up two weeks ago in the muck. I hope I dont regret it...

I am with you. Starting Fargas instead. I was ready to roll with FWP, but the weather, the field, the opponent, and his recent struggles with putting it on the ground all lead to a very untimely benching. These are the moments that define a season. Unfortunately, the definition usually becomes a synonym for a few 4-letter words for me when I have to make these calls.

Starting Stecker over FWP. don't like the opponent or the weather
That is exactly what I am doing....here at 11:16 AM. I just have this horrible feeling if I do it FWP does what he used to do and break a couple long ones.ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  hh

DT Stroud - OUT

MLB Peterson -OUT

DE Hayward - OUT

Meanwhile the Steelers still have the best defense in the league and are playing at home where they are 7-0 so far this season.

I just do not see how people think Jax is going to be able to control this game and keep FWP from having a good game. Especialy with all the key injuries on Jax defense.

I wouldn't underestimate Jacksonville. They are a good team.

I have Parker in now and I am telling myself I'm crazy since I'm thinking of putting in KJ or Maroney.

I'll probably decide 5 min before kickoff.

I have AD and Jacobs in now so I guess thats why I'm thinking of rolling the dice.

Currently rolling with Jacobs over FWP in a no-ppr.
You guys are getting me 2nd guessing..I've got FWP, Jacos, and Edge to decide from for my RB2...I've pretty much eliminated Edge, and have had a tough time between Jacobs and FWP, but currently have FWP penciled in..I think I'm going to stick with what I have -- I watched the Giants game last week and Jacobs looked horrible..Parker has looked bad most of this season too, but I feel like last week may have been a turning point for him..Tough choice though...I wish I could've moved FWP, Edge, and Jacobs for an LT a few weeks ago in a 3-for-1....

I would go with Edge and Parker if I were you.Whould you start FWP or Stecker this week?

No, I only need to pick 1 [Ryan Grant is locked at RB1] and I'm going with FWP [for now anyways] thanks...Parker and Stecker is a close call -- you've gotta decide that -- this isn't ACF... I don't think you'd be wrong going with either one -- an argument could be made either way...

Yes. I play IDP and own Peterson. He is out.

I dont see how I am in any way underestimating them. However 3 of their best players on defense will not play.On the same token the Steelers are also a good team. Perhaps one should not underestimate their ability to play defense and run the ball.
