What's he going to do this time? Cuss out the fans, flip the fans off, push big Ben to the ground, or just pout?

The hate for a guy who can't play because he has a torn groin tendon is a bit odd.
Not hate, just wondering what he does. He acted like a big baby when the Patriots beat them and wouldn't even shake ex-teammate Rache Caldwells hand and cryed about how mean the Patriots were and ripped on the Patriots coach for good measure. Then the last time he sat on the sidelines with his helmet over his head the entire game pouting and crying, it's a valid point that he is the biggest sore loser in team sports.

And the next season the Patriots got caught cheating. LT= Nostradamus.

Have you watched professional sports at all in the last 10 years? It's not just an LT thing. Also, the helmet head on the sideline should be a non-issue... the guy got hurt in one of the biggest games of his career. What's he supposed to do, pick up a pom-pom?

Cant fault a guy for not playing due to missing part of his crotch. Cut him some slack.

With that said, I was actually more worried about Sproles today then LT. Hes one of the fastest little buggers I have ever seen out there. They should play the roadrunner sound when he gets the ball. I still think that guy could be an every down back.

ftfytrying to interpret what's going on from a few quick reaction shots is moronic

The tip isn't a fluke though. Thats good play by a lineman.

The Weddle job is obviously a huge fluke.

And neither of those plays resulted in any points.

They contributed to San Diego having only one play in the 3rd quarter which was really the turning point in the game. What does it matter anyway? Those plays happened and SD lost.
The game was close in the 1st half but the Steelers dominated in the 2nd half. You can blame it on a couple "fluke" plays and thats fine but the Steelers had control in that half. Although the Chargers got a few scores at the end, I was never even remotely worried at that point. They dominated the first game as well and the score was a lot closer than it should have been. The Chargers had a nice run but this was not their year. They'll be back...........they were clearly a better team than the Steelers the last few years.

Did Rivers say the game was "decided by a couple fluke plays"???
It wasn't?
Not even close. The biggest decider, easily, was the play of the two defensive units.
Pitt D gave up 24 pts. Charger D gave up 28 pts.
Pitt gave up 14 of those at times when it had a 3 score (17+) advantage in the 4th quarter. And the last one was academic.
Exactly. The "Pitt D gave up 24 pts. Charger D gave up 28 pts." while accurate is one of those cases where the stats are completely misleading and not indicative of what happened. This game wasn't that close.J

"We were standing on the sideline and it was like, 'We were in for one play in the quarter and it was an interception," Rivers said. "There was a little bit of disbelief. ... You can't call it a fluke, those guys made plays, but that was crazy."
Link :lmao:

What's with the  ? Where does he say it was a fluke?

What's with the  ? Where does he say it was a fluke?
Making up reasons to hate Rivers is a part-time job for some people.
Seriously? The guy is a fiery player that runs his mouth way more than most QBs. I'm pretty neutral on him but it's pretty obvious to me why some people don't like him if you watch him play much.J
Its pretty obvious to me too. The spread of misinformation being the biggest factor. I'm still waiting to see where Rivers said the Chargers lost because of a couple fluke plays.

I just don't understand the hate for LT. The man had a major groin injury. It's one of the worst things that can happen to a RB! And you expect him to be playing like he's 80, 90, 100%? I don't care if it's the SUPER BOWL! If the man wouldn't even be playing at 50%, why would he play? Hell, at least he's thinking team-first and not trying to play through it and likely harming his team by not producing/making it worse. By making the decision early, it gave Sproles and others more time to practice with the first stringers and get everything down. Lot of good it did, but hey, it's better than if they had LT looming around...

It's isn't obvious to me.
Mostly stuff like this.
For lots of folks, thats' fine when it's your guy. But that kind of trash talking to the other team isn't something usually seen by the QB. :coffee:

Okay, I'll bite. Seeing running his mouth has nothing to do with watching him play, what is it about his play that makes it so obvious to you why people wouldn't like him?

Did anyone else notice that yesterday's game was the first game LT missed since 2005?

Gotta love the spoiled, "what have you done for me today" mindset of America today.

It was a fluke the 8-8 Chargers were even in the postseason.
It will be a fluke when they are in the playoffs next year tooANd its a fluke that the 9-6-1 eagles and the 9-7 cards are still playing and one will be in the superbowl

rather be fluky than good I guess
The best thing the Chargers have going for them right now is being in the weakest division in football. That's not going to change any time soon as it looks like all three of their division opponents will have new head coaches in 2009.

If any two year stretch has demonstrated this to us, it's been the last two years:

IT'S LT2 PEOPLE - there is only one LT. When LT2 is mentioned as a possible greatest ever bar none, then we can start talking. When LT2 revolutionizes the game on both sides of the ball, we can talk. When LT2 stops looking for complaints and excuses and wins a championship - even an AFC Championship - we will talk.

It must have been downright balmy yesterday - he was standing up the entire time.
it was warmer/balmier (both actual and wind chill) than the AFC champ game in NE last yearplus his agent probably got to him and said "i don't care if you get frostbite, stand the entire game"

Don't get me wrong- I'm not part of the crowd that bashes LT for not being tough. That's an asinine argument given his track record as a player, and also given how little information we have about injuries to NFL players. I do, however, think his body language in last year's playoff game out and out sucked, and reflected poorly upon him. I also think that he gets prone to whining and searching for slights - real and imagined - from other players, and that doesn't reflect well upon him either (he does a weekly interview on L.A. radio, and I've never liked his interviewing style for that reason).

and that was actually just resting him for the playoffsthis is the first game he's ever missed due to injury in his career(although it could be argued that he only made token appearances in a couple other games)

Looking at next season's schedule it looks like 9-7 will win it.

And LT is under contract until 2012... scary!

Everything I've seen from him just shows he's highly competitive and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I was building a team I'd take the controversial fiery player that wants to win so bad that it hurts over the guy that appreciates the business aspect of the game and if you win you win and if you lose you lose attitude. I have respect for LT and his work ethic, don't understand the hatred. He clearly puts his heart and soul into the game, anybody that's not as emotional after a huge loss, isn't a real football player.

I could not agree more. The touchdown record won't get your team to a Super Bowl but the greatest defender to ever play gives you a god chance to win a couple. LT2 needs to shut up and heal. IMO he is feeling a little left out now that his star is fading and Rivers, Gates, and to some extent Sproles have captured the spotlight.

LT and Rivers never lose a game because it was their fault. there always seems to be an excuse with these 2.
