Anybody buying on Demarco Murray? (3 Viewers)

If things break the way they appear thy will, looks like I play the Julio Jones owner next week, plus he has Forte. This news is going to even the playing field a bit. Too bad cuz my team with a healthy Murray is easily better. Now, ugh. Awful timing. I sure hope Randle is the lead dog.

Roto is saying Randle would start and see early down work with Dunbar getting passing down work..BUT that's not what happened last night. Dunbar had 5 carries to Randle's 2 and was the first guy in there to start series when Murray was given rest.

SO..who's the pick up in PPR? Would Randle definitely get goal line?

Yes, because Murray was healthy enough for early downs. Randle is the one you want unless they go into throwing mode.

right but Dunbar started a few series when Murray was resting....not Randle

Rotoworld:

DeMarco Murray (hand) practiced for the second-consecutive day on Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Murray was officially listed as "DNP" on Wednesday even though he was observed by the assembled media as practicing. Either way, Murray continues to get reps, and has even been catching passes with his left hand wrapped up. It sure seems like the Cowboys expect him to suit up against the Colts, though it's possible he'll officially be a game-time decision. Murray comes with much more risk than usual for the fantasy finals, but owners in season-long leagues have to play him if he's active. Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar will form a committee if Murray can't go. More of a pass catcher than Randle, Dunbar's role figures to be bigger than usual even if Murray plays.

DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys

Following Sunday's win over the Colts, DeMarco Murray admitted his broken hand was "hurting throughout the game."

Murray predictably didn't catch a pass for the first time this season, but gutted out a 22-58-1 line on the ground. He figures to be closer to 100 percent in Week 17 if the Cowboys choose to use him. They've clinched the NFC East already, yet can get a first-round bye if they beat the Redskins and both the Cardinals and Seahawks lose.

Mr. Glass will never be healthy for 16 games though.
Are you referring to Murray or Felix? Serious question.
It applies to both of them, but Murray is the ultimate Mr. Glass. He has been injured pretty much constantly since his Oklahoma days. Bad luck? Nope. He's just brittle and not built for the rigors of featured back duty.
Murray is the ultimate Mr. Glass?

"He's just brittle" played all 16 games. with 1845 rushing yards and has proven himself built for the rigors of featured back duty. despite your prediction.

DeMarco Murray rushed 19 times for 75 yards and a touchdown and secured 3-of-4 targets for 22 yards in the Cowboys' Wild Card Round win over the Lions.

The Cowboys' run game was largely stuck in mud in the first half, but Murray found a second-half rhythm and contributed chain-moving gains in the final two frames. His one-yard TD plunge narrowed the deficit to 20-14 in the third quarter. Murray wasn't a game breaker in this one, but kept the sticks moving. He will have a better matchup against the Packers in the Divisional Round.

Putting him at 471 touches on the year.

His 449 regular season touches broke Chris Johnson's record of 408.

is murray still limited by the hand injury? it seemed like he was not on the field for most passing situations yesterday.... is that normal?

DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys

DeMarco Murray says his hand hasn't been an issue since he broke it in Week 15.

Murray has been wearing a padded glove, and will do so for Sunday's Divisional Round game in Green Bay. "It’s been good," Murray said Thursday. "It’s a lot better than any other injury I’ve had. ... I’ve worn the same thing, because it feels comfortable for me. I haven’t changed anything." Murray's claim is mostly supported by his production, though he's averaged a pedestrian 3.8 yards per carry across three games after boasting a 4.8 mark heading into Week 16. He's scored three touchdowns in the process, however, and even caught six passes. Green Bay's run defense allowed 4.3 yards per carry in the regular season, and is not an imposing matchup.

This guy is going to be the poster child for the anti-injury prone argument on this forum for years to come. Always missing time, labeled by virtually everyone as injury prone and that he will never make it through a season, then damn near sets the NFL record for rush attempts in a year.

The funny part is that now that he finally showed to be durable and that he could play in all 16 games, the talk I hear is how you better sell because of the heavy workload and that he'll break down next season because of it.

I think murray is a good sell high cause you can get a boatload, but not for those reasons.

Can you, though? I'm going to be looking to sell this offseason and I'm kind of expecting most buyers to be cautious and to value him quite a bit lower than his recent production dictates.

It only takes one person, and you know damn well 1 out of 12 would pay a lot for him.

And I mean I would sell cause you can get a boatload, I wouldnt sell for the reasons stated previously. Just my philosphy. When a RB goes nuts and his value skyrockets, I look to sell.

I think he will be just fine going forwards, but I will go after top tier WRs instead.

DeMarco Murray rushed 25 times for 123 yards and a touchdown and caught a five-yard pass in the Cowboys' Divisional Round loss to the Packers.

The Packers largely held Murray in check until he lost a crucial third-quarter fumble, knocked loose by OLB Julius Peppers. Murray might have gone to the house if not for Peppers' play. It was Murray's first fumble since Week 8, and Peppers' sixth forced fumble of the season. The Cowboys' offensive line took over late in the third quarter, however, and sprung loose Murray down the sideline for a 26-yard sprint, before he dove in from a yard out on the next play to give Dallas a 21-13 lead. It wouldn't be sufficient as Aaron Rodgers engineered a comeback Packers win. Murray wraps up his historic 436-carry season with a rushing touchdown in seven straight games. Due to the massive workload, Murray will be a very interesting case on the free agent market. He slowed down the stretch and turns 27 in February.

Rotoworld:

Bryan Broaddus of the Cowboys' official website does not believe the team's 2015 starting running back is on the roster right now.

In other words, Broaddus believes that DeMarco Murray will walk in free agency and Joseph Randle/Lance Dunbar won't be handed the gig. Perhaps that's because of a strong 2015 running back draft class, headed by Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley. Or maybe Jerry Jones will make a play for Texas native Adrian Peterson. Murray's 2015 landing spot is obviously one of the biggest dominoes fantasy owners should be tracking come March.

Jerry isn't letting go of Murray. He's always pretty proud of his 'diamonds in the rough'. See Romo, Miles Austin, etc. Even if he hits the open market, Jerry will outbid any other team for him.

They are right at the cap and Dez is a free agent as well. Murray is going to want a big (relative to RB salaries today) contract and I don't think they will be able to sign both.

Yes, I think any RB that is 27 who just blew up is a great sell high. I think he has 3 more excellent years, but when you can sell a RB for close to top 5-10 overall prices and get a nice haul (depending on the haul obviously), I think it's a good move.

Plus also the real chance he sucks or get hurt, as is the reality of the even fluctuating value of RBs.

Also the chance he leaves Dallas (which I dont think will happen but ya never know). I don't see a better place for him to land IMO.

Well, let stupid season commence. Murray will be rumored to go to every team, killing trade value for the current RBs on those teams until he signs.

He will easily get more than 4 years 16 mill by Dallas. It's quite early.

And I can see him take a little less from Dallas than somewhere else, as long as the guarantees are good.

Murray's was a third round pick so this is his only chance to cash in the $$$. If Bryan Broaddus thinks Murray is gone you should believe it.

Rotoworld:

DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys
Speaking Thursday, Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones acknowledged it would be a "challenge" to re-sign both DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant for 2015.
Since Bryant is widely expected to remain in Dallas either via the franchise tag or a long-term deal, that makes Murray the odd man out. Murray put the Cowboys on his back in 2014, but has a long injury history, and turns 27 next month. Those are two strikes against a running back, though the situation is obviously different in Murray's case since he just led the league in rushing. Murray will likely reach free agency, but could end up back in Dallas if he doesn't like what he hears on the open market.

They used him up this season, he had 500 touches including the playoffs. That's an obscene amount of touches.

If he leaves Dallas he is going to be grossly over-drafted this coming season.
