I agree with this. This is basically the best buy low window there is, or the best sell before he's worthless window. This is the week. Chip's getting heat. Murray openly griping about carries. Saints defense is atrocious. If he can't do it this week, then full on panic mode.
I used to watch Eagles games all the time last two years, not much this year, but the numbers sound a lot like what McCoy was going through last year.the Curse of 370 claims another victim...
EDIT: to add something a bit more substantial, i never felt like murray was a pro bowl talent to begin with. i think of him as this generation's shaun alexander, i.e. a product of a studly o-line. so you take the change in situation and that would be why you see such a dropoff for a relatively young guy with no issues.
A little bit. The line is playing awful but Chip just isn't committed to the run this year either. He sees the line get blown up one or two times and then abandons it completely.I used to watch Eagles games all the time last two years, not much this year, but the numbers sound a lot like what McCoy was going through last year.the Curse of 370 claims another victim...

yea, it seems like the eagles are playing reactionary. Garrett used to do this all the time. Drove me nuts. Get down by a score, or not get decent gains on a few runs.....abandon it!Insein said:A little bit. The line is playing awful but Chip just isn't committed to the run this year either. When he signed both Murray and Mathews I thought for sure that Chip wanted to run the ball 500+ times this year. He's supposed to be this gutsy coach that takes chances and challenges the norms but he half asses it. He gets scared in the moment like not going for it on 4th and 1 in the Falcons game. Like going away from Murray after he opened with a 30 yarder and then lost 3 on the next play against the Skins. He's coaching scared. Like he's worried about what people think of him.yea, it seems like the eagles are playing reactionary. Garrett used to do this all the time. Drove me nuts. Get down by a score, or not get decent gains on a few runs.....abandon it!Why the hell did he pay Murray?! Did he watch him play last season? Murray needs touches. You need to get him warmed up, poundin the rock! As a fantasy owner its frustrating to watch......I know Im preachin to the choirInsein said:A little bit. Would be more excited if it wasn't against the lowly saintsWe have a pulse! Tempering enthusiasm because it was the Saints but the offense looked real good today.
we pleaded to the league to substitute New England or Green Bay, but they refused. Sorry.Would be more excited if it wasn't against the lowly saintsWe have a pulse! Tempering enthusiasm because it was the Saints but the offense looked real good today.
I'm debating it. I do think the Eagles offense is starting to get it going but its still a 3 headed monster. I think in Chip's mind his ideal stat line would be Murray 15-100-1, Mathews 10-80-1, Sproles 5-60-1.Anybody looking to sell high(ish)?
The TDs and extra catches help. It's nice that the Offensive design has him involved in the passing game whenever he's out there because they want to be able to do everything with all 3 RBs.Sabertooth said:Don't look now, but Murray is averaging about 15 points per game, good for 11th in the league right now. Weird, I guess I expected him to be closer to 20th.
good thing he has no value.Sabertooth said:Don't look now, but Murray is averaging about 15 points per game, good for 11th in the league right now. Weird, I guess I expected him to be closer to 20th.
Due to byes I may have to start both Demarco & Matthews. I hope Chip's mind is correct.I'm debating it. I do think the Eagles offense is starting to get it going but its still a 3 headed monster. As a Murray owner, I think I'd take 16 PPG in a heartbeat.I'm debating it. I do think the Eagles offense is starting to get it going but its still a 3 headed monster. Wow man....I hope that works out for you but no way I would have done that. I have Yeldon on a team. He's nice. I want no part of Mathews. Rivers could be the key for you though. The way it looks he's going to best manning. Hope it's a 6 PT Td league.Sold on the bump up this week. May regret what I gave up but couldn't wait any longer.
Demarco, Peyton, Hankerson, Desean
For
Rivers, Yeldon, J Matthews
It's not but Rivers is currently the 8th QB at 25.6 pts a game. Peyton is 30th at 15 ppg. I just don't see Peyton turning it around unfortunately.Wow man....I hope that works out for you but no way I would have done that. I have Yeldon on a team. He's nice. I want no part of Mathews. I think Jordan Matthews may be the jewel of that entire trade. That kid is so close to having a monster year. The drops are a concern, but I'm betting he works that out. Snaps and targets are there. Along with red zone looks.Wow man....I hope that works out for you but no way I would have done that. I have Yeldon on a team. He's nice. I want no part of Mathews. Ideally they all are. Just hasn't gone according to plan so far.I have him in 1.5 points per reception league and if he gets enough throws he's OK.
Is any RB decent ton a Chip team?
update? His value has just vanished. I don't think I recall a guy whose value declined so quickly at age 27 who didn't have off the field problems.

Personally...I think that offer was more than generous. As great as Freeman has been, Murray is a heck of a sweetener on top of Evans (assuming PPR dynasty...in redraft I could see wanting to hold onto Freeman)Hey guys. His value has certainly rebounded. Glad I was wrong but I haven't gotten any trade interest in him at all. I offered Demarco and Mike Evans to the Freeman owner in my league and was told we were too far apart to warrant a counter.

you do realize that a player's value can fluctuate, right? If not, it explains your fantasy failures. His value has just vanished. I don't think I recall a guy whose value declined so quickly at age 27 who didn't have off the field problems. His value has certainly rebounded.![]()
A) NoI'm really trying to sell. I'm worried that the inconsistency we've seen so far in his usage will continue.
Edit: I just saw the Wisenhunt news. If Chip Kelly decides it's always sunnier in Tennessee, and the Eagles get a new coach mid-season, then I have hopes for Murray.
So, you're saying there's a chance?A) NoI'm really trying to sell. I'm worried that the inconsistency we've seen so far in his usage will continue.

B) Hell no
C) Logic
The chance of Lurie letting Chip go before his contract is up is 0.00. The chance of the Eagles hiring a new coach mid year I s 0.00. To even use that as consideration on what to do with an Eagles player, even in a joking manner, is pure stupidity.

Murray's return 'could' be interesting.... I think some people have seriously undervalued how much impact that DeMarco Murray had on the team last year...
Peters is key to everything but he has been banged up even before this game. It's not going to be a good thing. Hopefully it isn't bad.Anyone think that LT Jason Peters being downgraded to OUT for tomorrow's game also downgrades murray? Or just Bradford? I don't watch a lot of Eagles football. Except when they play the Giants. Is peters key to the run game?

No only because they've practiced all week without him. I think it'll be fine. That is to say I don't think Murray's line will be changed much from him being out.Do you downgrade murray for tomorrow on this news?Peters is key to everything but he has been banged up even before this game. Ideally Mathews doesn't take over because he gets hurt at the drop of a hat. Hence this random groin injury despite him running a 65 yard TD with it and a week off to heal.So when does Mathews take over??? He is so much better for this offense.
I agree. Matthews can't handle a full workload, but he certainly seems to have much more burst than Murray.Ideally Mathews doesn't take over because he gets hurt at the drop of a hat. Hence this random groin injury despite him running a 65 yard TD with it and a week off to heal. You don't want Mathews to get the full load but he should be getting 10-15 touches a game with Murray getting 15-20 in the perfect scenario. Both stay fresh and do what they do best.So when does Mathews take over??? He is so much better for this offense.
