Anybody Else Concerned About Dallas' Offensive Line? (1 Viewer)

On paper the Dallas offense is loaded. Romo has the potential to throw for 35 TDs- Austin, Witten, Dez and the RBs all will be catching those balls and those RBs should have many TDs on the ground as well............however,

the offensive line is really hurting right now and I'm not sure if I should be afraid of this situation or if everything will be alright-

I have had a "man crush" on Romo and his schedule is perfect this year for throwing the pigskin but if he doesn't have time to throw then he could be a bust.

They looked like crap blocking against the Raiders first team last week. But then again so did the Bears (sans some nice run blocking on the Forte run).

Not sure if that's indicative of anything as the Raiders D could actually be pretty good.

I am backing off of Cowboys this year because of their OL and their offensive coordinator simply not being all that reliable in the red zone. He tries to get too cute. I'm keeping Miles high (top 5) ... dropping Romo behind Brady. Moving Witten down a touch (lack of TD's again thanks Garret). Moving Felix way down to undraftable ... someone will take him before the 8/9th ... something's not right. MB3 in the 6th is a good bargain. Flier on Choice who may emerge yet. Dez is the wild card probably still take him as a WR3/4. Defense remains top 10 if not top 5. Buehler hard to draft.

I have 4 things to say:

-Last year the lack of a run game killed them...not the passing and protection.

-It's preseason and waaaay too early to get too worried.

-Starters Kosier and Columbo are out with minor and short term injuries.

-Kosier is glue that keeps the line together

The groups is certainly flawed and far from perfect, but there are better days ahead.

Half empty version

And this is more of the glass is half full version.I tend to gravitate towards this end.I've been saying this all along, what will get the Cowboys a division title and another run at the SB is the defense. The Dallas defense the 2nd half of the season was dominating. The offense just needs to not put the Dallas D in awful spots and that alone will get them an 8-8 record. The truth of the matter is the Dallas offensive line has been a concern since last season ended. It is the one flaw on the entire offense. They have Rb's, they have WR's, they have a defense, they have a QB, they have a TE.....the offensive line lacks depth and if they're unlucky and run into injury problems, it will definately hurt.Banker is right though, the current injuries to the line are minor. They will be back before long.....but what is scary is waiting all season to see if something is going to happen to one of them.As far as not playing well in the preseason, do not put too much stock into it. The fact that Romo didn't play well is absolutely no concern whatsoever.Keep in mind the year the Detroit Lions went 0-16 during the regular season......they went 4-0 in the preseason before losing all 16 games. If that doesn't tell you something right there, nothing will.

Not enough to adjust my board, but I'm aware.

The only Cowboy I'm not still targeting is Witten. I've gotten all of Romo, Felix, Barber, Austin, Dez, and even Choice in various leagues.

I am always worried about the offensive line. Losing Flozell Adams will be a huge positive once the season starts.

Redball always worries me as well and I dont like him at all but he always manages to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Cowboys looked like crap last preseason too and there was no way we could overcome losing Terrell Owens. Remember those posts? Ended up alright.
