Anybody feel guilty about rostering Mike Vick? (1 Viewer)

And my league doesn't award points for games not played, so he's 10th, not 1st. If FF pts per game played was a viable stat, Steven Jackson would have been a consensus #1 for a couple years. If the season ended right now, Vick would be 10th.
You do understand that you don't get points in the current matchup based on past performance right? Then again, in your crazy league maybe you do.

Are you moralists serious? I picked up vick immediately when kolb got hurt because I had kolb (also have eli). If I had any guilt about it I would donate some of my winnings to the ASPCA. Methinks some of the people complaining about people picking up Vick got crushed by Vick owners.

We don't have this issue in my league. It is well known if you try to pick up Vick, I will drop him from your roster, you lose the guy you dropped to pick him up, and you're still paying the $5 transaction fee. Thus, he's unrosterable.
lol at the top fantasy qb not being rostered in your league.
$5 transaction fee? sounds like you guys are "gambling" in your league. tisk tisk tisk.... :lmao:

Hey! Congress has addressed this! Not gambling!

To the poster whose holier than thou league has "banned" Vick, Big Ben, and Stevens... Well, let me first say that I consider such practice to be utterly ridiculous. Nonetheless, it IS the prerogative of you and your league mates to run the league as you see fit, so I won't add anything to the above criticism. My question, though, is this:

Where do you draw the line? I mean, shouldn't you also ban anyone from owning the Ravens D because its star player is a murderer (or, if it's an IDP league, from owning Ray Lewis himself)? If you're going to run your league with this misguided sense of self-righteousness, should you not at least single out all of the purported criminals/scumbags/deadbeats/etc.? What I'm saying is, you need to be an equal opportunity discriminator.

In my 16 team big $$$ league, Vick was available to be drafted just like every other player, but there was a catch. Anyone who drafted Vick, traded for Vick, or picked Vick up as a FA, had to donate 1K to the local humane society.

An owner shockingly did pony up the 1K and draft Vick in the final round because he only had drafted 1 qb. Same guy just traded Vick a few weeks ago to another owner desperate for a qb and he donated the 1K to the humane society too.

So everyone can feel good about letting Vick play in our league, because we raised a couple thousand dollars for a good cause.

Cool idea, but that must be a league of some pretty high rollers. Not many have that kind of cash to dispense just to own Michael Vick on their team, no matter how good the cause.

I would be so verbally abused if I tried to pull what $2 does. Not cause anybody is a big fan of Vick, but because its so juvenile. Reminds me of when I was 12. This stuff doesn't fly with grown men. Soooo weird.

Reading this post and all I can picture in my head is that scene in Titanic where the men retire to drink brandy and smoke cigars. You must wipe your ### with hundos

What is the buyin for this league? Just curious.

I got Vick, no shame. I hate pit bulls, they are worthless animals, should be outlawed I'm alright with Pitbull abuse. You would feel this way too if your 8 yr. old daughter was pulled down by one. Now I know all you pit bull owners are going to say "Oh but not mine!" Sorry but thats crap, its a killer breed often owned by scumbags (like Vick).

Just b/c an animal isn't good around children, that doesn't mean it or the whole breed should be abused. Vick is scum and if you win, you should give at least 10% to the ASPCA. If not you'll have a K9 hex on your family for 7 years. :lmao:

Crappy owner, not a crappy breed. But whatever.

There have always been players that I disliked enough to never draft that did far less evil than Vick. Nope, I root for him to crash and burn in the worst possible way. I'd prefer he got treated the way he treated dogs, but I'll settle for less.
You sir are a racist.Your statement = Man (black) < or = DogsBut you are compassionate by wishing less harm on human being. I'm going deer hunting next weekend, do u wish me shot? "but just in the nuts and not dead" right?!?

Seems like a slick way to quit this league would be to pick Vick up and get rid of your own players one-by-one.I can only assume Donte Stallworth, Ray Lewis, Ben Roethlisberger, etc are similarly unrosterable...-QG
