Anybody rolling with Sage this week? (1 Viewer)

Nah this is still solid, even though not great. With the way points work for QB's in my league he has already matched Kitna's mark for last week, and there is still a quarter to go.

He has me 18 points right now, 6 better than Kitna did last week by my scoring system, so as far as I am concerned this is alright with me.

jus as I was typing "it's too early write off Sage's performance this week. There's still time."

he goes and throws a TD.

YES!

I agree, joey. 2 TD's is good any week, but especially when one is a rushing TD. And frankly Sage looked better on that drive than he has since the first drive. That is fairly good to see with 10 mins still to play.

Sweet. Sage pretty much is at my personal over/under mark for Big Ben....170+2Tds. Rest is GRAAAVVVYYYY.

Go Sage, Go Brandon, Horray BEER!!

I agree.

As it stands, Sage still did as well or better than 9 weeks of the 13 played for Kitna so far. Had AJ reached out for us, it would be 11 of the 13 by my system. 20 points right now, and I will take it. Today as we discussed it, if you had told me you will give me 20 from Sage no questions asked...I would have taken it.

MAN, only a half-yard away from his second 200yd+, 3-TD game in a row in the most critical time of the year ... not bad Sage, thanks for your efforts these last 2 weeks!

My Toilet Bowl foes don't know what's hitting 'em

Any others out there who rolled with Sage making it into the final? I got lucky that my opponent had just about as bad a week as I did.

Sage outscored Manning (his starter) so how can I complain?

Might have to roll with him this week if Manning looks like he will rest. Other options: Croyle, Bulger. Not Pretty.

I will certainly consider him again this week, though admittedly Kitna against KC does not seem as bad this week as it did a few weeks ago. After seeing Cutler put up big numbers 2 weeks ago and Vince having a strong day yesterday Kitna in the dome against KC does not seem awful right now.I will have much thinking to do this week.

I will be debating between Sage vs IND, Kitna vs KC, Bulger vs PIT, Croyle vs DET, or Collins vs MIN. I think its gonna come down between Sage and Kitna again. KC's def doesnt care me especially in DET but I have a feeling theyre gonna run the ball a ton. But Indy's def is #3 vs QBs but will they rest defensive players. I got some time to think about it. Hopefully I can make the right decision again. Crazy but Sage was one of the top QB scorers this week.

I made it to the finals with Sage as my Band Aid QB.

Same as many in this thread, my other option is Kitna vs KC

next week.

Houston O is doing pretty well lately:

- Sage has thrown for at least 1 TD in every game he's played.

- Hou has scored 20 pts or more in 5 of their last 6.

Gonna be another tough decision this week. Sage did well giving

me 18.3 pts this past week but Kitna scored 20.08 (we don't

penalize for INTs in the league in question). That was Kitna's

first game over 20 pts since week 6 (though, in fairness, he

scored in the high-19's in 2 of those weeks).

We will see. I'll be staying tuned to this thread for more great insight.

That corn hole play by Andre Johnson cost me the finals. Lost by less than 3. Freakin' corn hole!! That and a myriad of other plays.... worth 3 points.

But yep, I am at peace with starting Sage. It was the right move.

It looks like there are a few of us with the Kitna vs Sage pick this week.

Just looking at the stats that Football guys puts together each week, here is what we are looking at depending on your scoring system:

Sage:

Indy gives up the third fewest points to QB's in FF points with an average of 174/1.0/1.4

Kitna:

KC gives up the 5th fewest points with an average of 215/1.1/.9

Others Waiver Fodder - Croyle

Detroit gives up the 2nd most behind Cleveland, averaging 279/1.9/1.1 to QB's. Obviously a good matchup, but a horrible player.

If I had heard that the Indy players might take any time off this week, I would certainly lean toward Sage. But as it is, I think I have to lean towards Kitna and his 5 INT throwing ### this week. Hard to believe that any of us who drafted him as our #1 are playing for a SB but we take what we can get, eh?

MD Im leaning towards Sage again. Here's my reasoning:

1. Indy has nothing to play for. I think this will mean resting of some slightly injured defensive players.

2. Andre Johnson. As long as he's playing he's usually good for 1 TD at minimum so therefore Sage is usually good for 1 TD minimum. Plus hes playing on turf!

3. Indy should put up some points early in this game at home. Therefore Houston will have to score points (which they havent had a problem doing recently). If Indy is blowing them out then Sage could get garbage pts.

4. Houston has no running game although Dayne could have a solid game. Still not enough of a running game to take over IMO

5. Kitna sucks and throws way too many INTs. INTs are -2 in my league

6. I think Detroit tries to run the ball a ton. They play better at home and KC sucks so this should be a lot closer game.

7. Kitna has no stud to throw to yet like Sage does.

I hope thats enough to convince you :) I need you with me, :goodposting:

That is all solid reasoning. Specifically the fact that Andre has clearly made a world of difference with Houston, when he is around. The thing that worries me (and you convinced me correctly last week so I am sure you can do it again) is that over the last 2 weeks Indy's D has been very good against opposing QB's and KC's has rolled over to them. Admittedly, Oakland and Baltimore were who Indy played and Tennessee and Denver were who KC played, so it is certainly mismatched in that regard, but you see the numbers and they stand out.Last 2 vs KCYoung - 192/2/0 32/0Cutler - 236/3/0 22/0Where as IndyMcCown/Russel - 104/1/0 16/0Boller/Smith - 165/1/3 39/1Sage was a rock last week, though. And there is just no getting around that.

That worries me as well. Not sure I can convince you again as I am not convinced myself.

Almost cost me as well. If Kubiak hadn't stupidly used his challenge on the Scheffler TD I think he could have challenged this and won. Regardless, AJ should have scored there. This week, I'm rolling with Big Ben over Sage and Kitna, but I do think Sage could put up some decent numbers this week.

It is a tough one this week, especially given it is the SB. We don't have weather to worry about in either case....we don't have either team really playing for anything other than pride at this point...we do have an opponent in Indy who has clinched everything they can clinch and who has a coach that has shown he is willing to sit guys (though he came out and said he would not this week) vs an opponent in KC who looks to have given up as they have gone on a 7 game losing streak.A tough one for us Kitna owners for sure.FYI to Kelley's Heroes, if I had Warner I would no doubt be starting him against ATL as well. But I do not have such options, sadly.

Let me just add that the more that I see this the more that I consider Sage. Obviously others are thinking it is quite possible that whatever Dungy "says" he will do is not necessarily what he will do.

Another tough one again for us this week boys. At least we do not have to decide by Thursday. Here is how I am shaping up thus far with my thought process:

Just some Random Shots ....

1. Both QB's are playing in the Dome this week so weather is now out of my calculations as opposed to last week.

2. The see-saw of the Detroit running game points to a more balanced attack this week as KC typically does not have the fire power to make a team throw from behind for long stretches.

3. HOU/INDY is a home Divvy game. I really dont think that can be underestimated as a previous poster pointed out.

4. Kitna should be the favorite to pass for more yards and if you get a nice bonus for yardage it is hard to ignore.

5. AJ is just as much a lock as anyone to get a long TD and if your QB gets a bonus for TD length it is hard to ignore.

6. HOU looks so much more in synch. Sage is playing efficiently.

7. I am not convinced that Dayne will be a no-show. He looked good to me last week when running.

8. Agree with previous posters. Stats don't lie most of the time and you can not deny the fact that INDY has been stout. This is probably the biggest deciding factor for me thus far. I trust INDY's defense to do their job so much more than I trust KC.

9. Say what you want about Kitna but he is a man's man with a ton of pride. He will want to shake off last week's interceptions and play with some fire. Again though #2 scares me here with respect to this.

10. Detroit is playing at home.

I am trying not to let any of the "rest players" variables lead to my decision. Just to hard to predict for a Week 16 game.

Right now I am leaning Kitna Shady. Against S.D. last week the decision to bench him just seemed that much easier. But at home against a team that Vince Young tacked up almost 200/2 on - Kitna has the slight edge.

edit: Forgot to mention that my opponent is going with Kevin Walter as his #2 WR this week. I do not want to be giving TD points away. this same strategy (in reverse) allowed me to put the P. Manning owner to rest last week using A. Gonzales.

Even though its Thursday I pretty much decided to roll with Sage again this week over Kitna  Good luck in your decisions fellas.

I have Kitna in my line-up right now over Sage.

In my league, we don't get penalized for INTs, so the Kitna INT Kurse doesn't play into my decision.

I just care about yards and TDs, baby.

Screw it, I am rolling with Sage too. Here is to hoping the Colts come out to an early lead and Sage has to sling it around the field all day long. :link:

It was not close this week.

Sadly, I am going to lose anyway, but it has nothing to do with my QB start. Sage was a rock yet again, and about 1,000 times better than Kitna.
