Anybody Sell High on Best? (1 Viewer)

The Best Hype is getting out of control after last week but it's hard to conceive he's worth more than MJD or Ray Rice right now. Anybody sell high on Best for one of these 2 guys or a WR like Andre Johnson or Randy Moss?

Why would I sell a guy who put up 70 points in the last 2 games?
Because you don't get extra credit next week based on how many points a guy scored last week.If you can trade Jahvid Best for, say, Ray Rice, then you take it and run. Jahvid Best has outscored Ray Rice through two games. Ray Rice will almost certainly outscore Jahvid Best over the next 14.

I think Rice will rush for more yards, but i doubt he gets more fantasy points.

I would probably bite on Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, and Adrian Peterson. That's about the beginning and end of it, though.

Almost certainly?Possibly, yes. Probably, sure. But almost certainly? I don't think so. I'd say Best has a more than decent chance to outscore Rice for the remaining part of this season.Sort of reminds me of Adrian Peterson vs. Joey Addai after two weeks of the 2007 season. Just like then this might be a rare case where exceptional talent trumps a good team situation.

Going to hold off trading him this week because if he puts up good points against the Vikings his value explodes (will make him really hard to give up if this happens). If he doesn't have a good FF game, then I don't think it hurts his value being that it's expected that most backs would have a down game against Minn.

In my league I'm hoping to get Rice & Fitz or Rice & Holmes from their 0-2 owner that is a Lions homer. (Gambling Rice has another bad game)

Don't think I would trade him for another RB at this point, but if I was solid at this position and needed help at the QB/WR position, I would certainly consider it.

His playoff schedule isn't all that easy. Going up against the Vikings in the last week if you make your league final. Not saying I would sell him, but maybe something to think about.

In Redraft leagues, definitely something to think about. Good posting.

You would be giving away a title.

It's more important to look at your matchups in the playoff weeks BEFORE the championship game. I'd rather be guaranteed at least 2nd then praying for 3rd.

I traded him for MJD BEFORE that game, lol.

I have some regrets after week 2 seeing that performance.

Hopefully the roles reverse week 3, otherwise.. :lmao: :blackdot:

Just put him on the block in one of my Dynasty leagues. Said he's available for the right package which must include a top 3 WR a top 10 QB and a #2 RB and next years first round rookie pick.

The deal would look something like thisBest for Jay Cutler, Roddy White, LeSean McCoy and next year #8 pick

If you can get all that for Best, just change your phone # to 1-800-###-rape, and tell the other guy to pull his pants up. Never happen in any of my 6 dynasty leagues.

Just 6 :lmao: He's on pace for 40 tds. I'll swap out Best and Maybe Orton for that package.

So last year after a couple games youy would have been trading RICE for a player that was in 3-4-5 hole like Westbrook or Forte. No thanks. You have to be willing to ride the hot horse. Like Rice last year.
Rice didn't really break out until week 5 or 6 last year. He barely scored 20 points through the first two games. Noone was giving up a top 5 redraft pick for him.Best probably had the best game he's going to have all season already.

Sold him before W2 in a league where I felt i needed viable keeper help.

Fitz, Cooley and Taylor for Best and Maclin

Gambled and it bit me for now.

That'd be quite a step up considering you probably got him at #3 or #4 this year?

Deal on the works ... Giving Best for Austin and Finley ... yes. "THE Finley"

Quick edit to add Redraft / PPR

I sold him. Needed a better QB than Cutler in a QB heavy league.

Traded Best/MSW for Brady and VD

Only 4 guys I'd consider doing for: Peterson, Johnson, Rice, MJD. Shaun Hill's going to continue dumping off. No reason to think he won't catch 70+ passes.
wouldn't trade him for MJD, not even close. I'd remove MJD from that list and replace him with Gore. There might be one or two more i'd consider trading Best for depending on need but it's not a very long list.

A lot of fantasy teams don't play in week 17, and even if they do, most defenses are banged up by then.

Parlayed Best and Welker into SJax and Moss.

Very happy, as I strongly feel I'm getting out while the getting is not merely good, but great on both the guys I'm giving up. Doesn't get any better than adding two first rounders for two early season phenoms you feel strongly are going to crash and burn. :goodposting:

Yup, and I already have Rice...so I can't really see wanting to pair up Rice and MJD at this point with both of them struggling. And the Peterson and Johnson owner are not interested (already tried a package for peterson and was told that the offer was good, but he was not wanting Best and was not going to trade ADP)

while i agree best is going to come down from last 2 weeks production, i think it would just be dumb to sell a guy thats putting up #1 overall points. you have to wait and see with a guy like this, especially in dynasty, because theres no worse sellers remorse than seeing the guy u gave away be the next uberstud.

hold best... dont get fancy

I parlayed Best and Garcon for Rice and Mike Wallace.

Not sure if I made the right move but I sure like Rice's playoff schedule better than Best's

This is a prime example poor trade logic. The draft is over so it is no longer a good judge of value. In last year's draft Turner, LT, Gore & Jacobs were all first round picks. If you went the whole year with the thought that they are all 1st round value I am sure the year didn't turn out too well.Once the season starts you need to look at current value and the value you project for the rest of the season. I don't agree with your trade but if you had better reasons at least I would think you had a good thought process.

The guy is always raining on people's positive Best posts, no surprise he feels this is a great deal. Personally I think it's an awful trade, S-Jax looks like he might be lucky to score 6tds this whole year, Best will have that covered by week 4.

Had an offer that a guy canceled before I could accept.

Id give up Orton, Best, and B. Jackson for Rodgers and Gore.

He said he was just trying to check out what it looked like and then pulled it back. (he loves Best and wants him...I told him to keep trying to see if he finds something).

Id love to get my hands on either Gore or Rodgers somehow...if I got both Id love it.

I like Best, but that would've been highway robbery
