Anyone benching Michael Turner this week vs. GB? (1 Viewer)

Green Bay gave up 93 yds to Peterson last week. Turner was held in check by the Rams except for that fluke play at the end. We know Turner did not play well against Baltimore, Pitt, and Philadelphia. Does this game feel like it might turn into a passing affair for Ryan to keep up with GB offense, limiting Turner?

Yes, but only because I have Moreno or VJAX returning as a better option. I like Turner down the stretch and even think he could do well in this game but for this particular week, it seems safer to go a different direction because there is a chance that the Packers could get up early and force the Falcons to throw.

I wouldn't bench him unless you truly have much better options.

I wouldn't assume that the Packers get ahead - could be a tight game with both teams vying for the conference title lead. Plus, generally speaking, Turner is a much better play at home.

That is true. For me, its because I think (who knows) that I have better options that are safer. I wouldn't feel bad about playing him but just point out that one thought for those who have legit options (I just have a funny vibe that it could start out like the Eagles game and that kills Turner).

I agree Turner is better at home. I'm just worried about his running style and plowing into the GB defensive line and LB's who look angry. I can see a lot of Snelling coming in to catch a bunch of quick screens. But I don't know, I have not benched him one single game the entire year.

Tempted to start LT over him as I think he finds the endzone this week but just cant bench Turner with all those carries he gets!

Really can't see how you can bench him unless you have other options, and by that I'm thinking 2 other Top 10 RB's...

* Turner is at home

* He's likely to get at least 18 to 20 touches

* Atlanta may look to rely on the ground game a bit to control clock and attempt to keep Rodgers on the sidelines

* Green Bay ranks 16th against the run. Very average

* I'm a Turner owner

* I'm facing Rodgers this week

* Fighting for my playoff life

:lmao:

Turner owners shouldn't overthink this one. Unless an owner has some amazing options The Burner is a must start.
Not so fast.Turner used to be a plug in and play guy however this year in my league his point totals have been as follows (0.5 ppr for RB league):5.4, 7.5, 19.5, 9.3, 14.0, 5.4, 27.4, 22.7, 3.9, 19.6So in 10 weeks you have 5 dud games in there.. So 50% of the time he has not been good. I know all RB's have some off weeks, but due to Turner not being a pass catching RB, if he does not find the end zone he is very average. If you have 3 good RB's on your team then there is definitely times to play match ups with Turner.

Without going back and analyzing each game, it feels like most of Turner's touchdowns are almost always goal line looks this year rather than long runs (with an exception here and there). The other problem is that Ryan will sometimes play action to the tight end or other receiver like he did in the Ravens game. Furthermore, it's always a crapshoot as to whether a team will actually get within the 3 yard line each week, so you just never know. I would be more comfortable if he was breaking off long runs each week kind of like CJ, Charles, and others and was taking it to the house. Turner seems to pick up 2 or 3 yards, and then they always pull him on 3rd down if it's anything longer than 3rd and 2, which is annoying since he can't catch out the backfield. It will probably be a game day decision for me.

Unfortunately, I do not have any decent options to replace Turner. He is in my line up as usual. I do not expect much from him as usual.
