Anyone grabbing Randy Moss now? (1 Viewer)

Or are people staying away and waiting? I'm thinking about picking him up and stashing just incase. He could make a big splash if the Saints or Patriots pick him up. What are you guys doing about this situation?

Depending on your roster size and lineup requirements, he seems like a low risk with high potential if he goes to NE. I am just not sure about any other landing spot for him.

I got him in two leagues. Dropped last guy on the bench to pick him up. I figure that if he goes to the Pats he may be motivated to rehab his image and go out with a bang. If not, I drop him and pick up some other WR on the waiver wire. No real loss.

Rotoworld: Randy Moss spotted in New Orleans

Randy Moss - WR FA

WWLTV.com reports Randy Moss is a "player of interest" for the Saints, and was spotted at the team headquarters on Saturday.

With Marques Colston expected to miss over a month with a broken collarbone and Lance Moore week-to-week with a groin injury, the Saints have a need at receiver, and have apparently set their sights high. Moss is said to be amendable to un-retiring if "the right opportunity presented itself," and that's certainly something the high-octane and contending Saints would seem to represent. Stay tuned. What is the exact mechanism for veteran contract guarantees?

One bit I found doing some quick research references vested veterans having the full season contract guaranteed if they are on the "opening day roster" - since New Orleans has already played this week with an official opening day roster, could they conceivably sign him today and have no risk of a fully guaranteed contract (not that it's really realistic tonight anyway)? Or is it leage date-specific vs. team opener date-specific?

I'm just curious, since I'm not sure how they opening roster issue works, and I think some people figured he'd start to get more interest if he's not guaranteed a contract after week 1.

Of course, given that he's looking for the "right opportunity" to present itself, I'm guessing he'd balk at any contract that didn't come guaranteed in some form or another anyway.

why does it say that they are setting their sights high??

probably because there arent too many future 1st ballot HOF WRs you can just pick up on the street corner

with that logic then you should pick up Jerry Rice and wait for him to come out of retirement . . .

"@JasonLaCanfora: I'm hearing there is nothing cookin between Randy Moss and the Saints. But I still wouldn't be shocked if he ends up back in the NFL in 2011."

UPDATED 8:35 p.m. ET: Pro Football Talk has thrown some cold water on the report by the New Orleans TV station, writing that if Randy Moss visited the Saints facility, he did so without the knowledge of his agent, Joel Segal.
sounds like nothing but rumor

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Just because his agent did not know, does not mean he did not visit.

Randy will be back, we all know it, he just wants to play and start for a contender. The Saints are the perfect fit now. SuperBowl Contender with an All Pro QB on a pass first team. This could be big.

I thought Jerry Rice was already a HOFer. I could be wrong though.

If that's the case, that ain't Tom Benson's style. It's also not the philosophy, or the kind of player personality, that has dragged the Saints out of the stone age of professional football.

terLets wait for the real NFL insider to speak on it, when Schefter speaks, we should listen.
Per Schefter on tweeter: New Orleans GM Mickey Loomis on rumors of Randy Moss visiting Saints today: "Absolutely no truth to it. It's a made-up story. Zero to it."

Added him in 2/3 leagues. Other one he was drafted. All with deep rosters. Why the hek not?

Randy does some insanely childish things and for a very emotional guy he has a terrible filter. However, to say that he isn't competitive or doesn't ache to get a ring is just flat out wrong. Why did he retire this year? Oh right because he didn't want to just collect a pay check. Your statement contradicts everything that the vast majority of current and former teammates have to say about him.About the only person publicly sharing your opinion is Brad Childress. So you got that going for ya....which is good.

Moss pulled off a rare feat last season- He sucked for three separate teams. At some point, you have to just admit that maybe the guy sucks. You can't turn back the clock.

Got him as a throw in in a trade last year and dropped him. I hope some optimist picks him up so I get the year contract back.
