Anyone not like Eddie Lacy? (2 Viewers)

I mean, I'm pissed he scored so low but he did get me 18 points last week. I don't think he's done but I also think Detroit may be playing good rush defense. Lacey stunk it up but James Starks didn't excel himself. They started giving the 3rd String guy carries.

I think Lacey is the kind of guy who takes games off. Sort of like Randy Moss. Lacey is probably being a punk and playing soft against a Lions team he don't care about. Which probably pissed the coaches off. The plays the guy was making last week were insane. It won't help fantasy guys (unless you play daily) but playoff Eddie Lacey is gonna pile up yards, imo.

I think the guy is pulling a Marshawn Lynch. He probably wants a pay raise before he tears his achilles in a meaningless Lions game.

Also, I want to give a shout out to Landwhale White. If this starting runningback thing doesn't workout with Green Bay, Tom Coughlin would to have Lacey on the GL vulturing Touchdowns. Lacey is a huge upgrade over most teams Running Backs.

So much wrong in this post, where does one begin?

The Packers will probably have to draft a RB next year, there's no way they go through this again.

And it's funny what does and doesn't get publicized for different players. Lacy was out partying the night before a road game and breaks curfew? It may not just be the big buffets that Lacy has been indulging in.

Personally I thought the late night pickup window line woulda added a fresh new angle connecting his weight problems with missing curfew in a fun new way.

Regarding the post prior to that I believe that it's probably been Lacy owners making most of the jokes.

At a fungible position like running back Lacy may find himself out of the league faster than he might expect. I do think he probably would get a chance if GB got rid of him but RB careers are about the shortest in the NFL.

If Green Bay parts ways with him this offseason, he would have no issue finding a new home. That would be a chip Kelly kind of move imo

True.

He is far too talented a guy and he would be sure to get himself a big contract.

One thing though, that we probably haven't considered.

Remember last year when he started off extremely slow all those weeks??? (Pack coaching kept saying they needed to get him going etc.)

We don't know, but this may just be a continuation of similar issues from last year.

The Pack seemed to keep a lot of this stuff under wraps this season with this curfew business. If he does have some "focus problems", no matter if its partying, eating too much or just flat out not applying himself and staying in game shape .... then its an issue that they may have grown tired of dealing with.

Often teams and coaching tend to "sweep things under the rug" for a bit with star players, but sooner or later they get tired of doing it.

It may well not be an issue, but it sure wouldn't surprise me if he is gone from Green Bay, then something comes out later about "off the field issues" or something similar.

IMO Lacy isn't going to be leaving GB. They are very patient with players. A couple of years ago Mason Crosby really struggled and fans were crying to replace him. GB stuck with him through his struggles and it is paying off. It is the case with several other players as well.

FWIW Lacy missed curfew but it was reported that he was in the hotel. Not sure if that makes a difference but it's not like he was out at a nightclub. Packers may have taken the opportunity to send him a message about his commitment. If he gets it, he could be a great buy low in fantasy.

I doubt he goes anywhere too. Lacy seems to be one of the faces of the team, behind Aaron Rodgers of course.

It just wouldn't surprise me though, if somehow he is gone, THEN it later comes out there were ongoing issues.

I have never been a big follower of college ball, so I have no idea if he had any "issues" in college or just coming into the league either, so I haven't a clue there. The only thing I really knew about him was there were some injury or concussion issues early on, but thats just a distant memory for me.

I do agree he may well end up being a big buy low next year, but he has sadly entered my DO NOT DRAFT list personally. I just won't touch him, even if he goes "late for him" which might be in the 4th round of next year's drafts or even as late as the early 5th.

This is year #2 where he has burned a ton of owners, and I want no part of it.

Good point on Crosby.

I remember there for a stretch where it seemed like every Packer highlight I saw there for a month or so was of him botching field goals. :D

Is Lacy still in the doghouse this week or has he served his punishment?

Do I dare roll with him at FLEX over either Landry or West?

Any Fat Eddie updates (other than which buffet he was recently at) would be appreciated!

McCarthy's jr high principal antics actually should have cost them the game (If the lions weren't so God awful rotten).

Is he off detention yet?...I heard McCarthy came to Lacy's hotel room and said the next time he has to come in there he's cracking skulls.

So you don't think there should be any discipline actions for guys that break curfew?

Sure, Eddie Lacy broke curfew Wednesday night but you can't really blame him since Old Country Buffet extended their holiday hours.

Agree there should be punishment for breaking rules, but its a series or a quarter at worst a half, but not 2 carries here and 1 there when the guy just had back to back 100 yrd games

The Manziel thread is a train wreck, he keeps having the same argument with different people over and over again. He can tell you about the time Johnny got a detention in high school, but any shred of meaningful analysis evades him.

hes benched this week, I gotta see with my own eyes that he is out of the doghouse

I am very wary right now

that 0 was ridiculous

its a miracle I made the playoffs with lacy and j hill on my team

I agree, I only own him in one league and I'm rolling out Devante Parker over him. I'm hoping he goes off on my bench and could be a factor weeks 15 & 16

week 15 @ Oakland

week 16 @ cardinals

not horrible matchups.... but hes not as good on the road...

might be moot if he stays in the doghouse this week...

Benched him last week after hearing about the linemen out. Now I'm thinking on playing him again. I mean if they want to win, they have to play him.

Where did I say that?
You accused McCarthy of Jr High Principal antics. That implies you have a problem with how it was handled rather than with Lacy breaking the rules.

Use the ignore feature if you don't like my analysis of Manziel. And that thread is far from a train wreck. It's a very interesting thread. Must everyone agree in order for you to be happy?

I don't see how you can trust Lacy in your fantasy playoffs if you have any decent options. Example, I'd start Hill over him and he carries his own risk.

Here are some positive things that I see: the week that he went off against the Bears, McCarthy had praised him that he had a good week of practice. Last week he didn't play much at all and will have ten days of rest between games. Whatever injuries he had should be healed by now. I barely missed out on a bye by literally a few yards and would've love to sit back and see how he does this week. I'll monitor to see what else he does this week.

Ok, let's just pretend that last week didn't happen for a moment... If he is given his traditional 15 or so carries against the Cowboys what can we really expect? Watching the DAL/WAS game last night, the front seven was pretty dominant against WAS for most of the night. Especially Sean Lee, who was making plays everywhere. If the defense that showed up last night shows up this week, I don't think 2014 Lacy would do that well.

Then again, with Cassel at QB and the Cowboys complete ineptness on offense I could see the gameflow favoring a heavy dose of Eddie Lacy.

Thoughts?

Little slow on the uptake there jr?

Yes I have a problem with how it was handled....what does that have to do with the question you asked whether there should be any discipline?

You must have gotten punched in the face a lot.

maybe there was more to it than just this one time. The other guy was cut altogether. Seems Lacy was given some slack. I get it, fantasy owners don't care one bit about behavior or following the rules. Nor should they. And im sorry you got stuck with him in your lineup. But your juvenile ranting about how McCarthy handled it just sounds like sour grapes. See the manziel thread for other examples of fans who think rules and discipline are stupid. By the way, Green Bay won the game. I'm sure McCarthy has no ragrets. Especially if Lacy's attitude improves as a result. Even a junior high principal would agree. ;)

Just inserted Eddie Lacy into the starting lineup. Now I have to decide between Hill and Gurley. Leaning Hill since Gio is being phased out.

I'm rolling this slug out cuz frankly I have no other options. This will truly be a miracle run if I can get to the 2nd rd of the playoffs in my league.

I love this theme that head coaches just do mean things to star players to be judgmental azzhls. I am so sure that Lacy never, ever burnt up a bridge with McCarthy before. I'm sure that McCarthy just hates Lacy 'experimenting' like some 13 year old with alcohol or weed or staying up too late instead of being in his green and gold pj's. Yeah, that's the problem.

Coaches do these things when they think it might affect on-field performance. Lacy has been stinking it up. It's noted above it happened before this too in 2014 and it's probably similar attitude, habits, whatever it is, but McCarthy thinks it's affecting his performance on the field and his teams and his chance as head coach to win now and in the course of this year.

McCarthy and Pettine and Chip Kelly aren't Church Ladies, they don't do these things because they role out of the bed in the morning with a hate-on for partying or poor practice habits.
