Anyone not like Eddie Lacy? (2 Viewers)

Roto:

Eddie Lacy rushed 18 times for 90 yards in Green Bay's Week 4 win over the 49ers.
He added a three-yard reception. Lacy appeared fully over his ankle issue, showing quick feet and precise cuts. He dragged tacklers as the Packers played out the string of a boring second half. Rounding into form after a quiet(ish) start, Lacy is on track for 920 yards and four touchdowns. Both paces should increase significantly in the coming weeks. Lacy gets the Rams' hot-and-cold run defense in Week 5. Oct 4 - 7:49 PM
Gotta love the effing FB dives at the goalline that take TDs away from our studs.

We good here? Wouldn't mind a few 2 TD games to feel a little more secure with my first round pick.
You'll get those big games. I think we have to remember where he plays and the weather factor. THe sooner it gets colder, the sooner those defensives won't be as willing to tackle this big behemoth over and over and over again on the frozen ground.

I had him in fantasy last year. I would pick him in the late 2nd in redraft but no sooner than that. Super frustrating to have on a team. ARod steals TDs from him, Kuhn steals from him, and GB doesn't use him right.

Kuhn has had 4 TDs over the past 4 seasons, Rodgers only 3 over the last 3 seasons. Kuhn already got his one for this year, so we're good till the playoffs.

You don't account for the TDs rodgers throws inside the 10......he is TD whores them from Fat Eddie.

Start Rodgers too, that's what I do. Yeah, I was pissed when Kuhn scored last night. My game is still in limbo going into this evening.

Use him right for Fantasy?

I think they're being smart with him. He's a battering ram type runner, that kind of runner can't stay healthy all year. Starks is a damn good runner too.

I think they're using him perfectly to keep other teams off balance while keeping him healthy.

I disagree. I think they use Starks too much and not enough Eddie.....in real life and in fantasy. Starks is averaging 3.3ypc and has never shown he is that good of a running back. He is a bit overrated by the fantasy community because he plays for the Packers and is the popular handcuff to Eddie.

New Lacy owner this week and know he will see ball more as weather gets colder
As well as the buffet line. This guy's shelf-life will not be long.
I thought we put that theory to rest some time ago. I am a dynasty owner and not concerned at all. Why would Lacy have a shorter shelf life than any other RB?
He's getting fat. This isn't the offensive line.
He's a battering ram with shiftiness and agility, especially in the receiving game. The added weight will prolong his tenure, not shorten it.

:ptts:

Please tell us how GB should use him. Or not.

No it won't. He's huge already and it's going to be tough for a guy with that build to keep the weight off. Just look, he's fighting it already. For now though, yeah he's a beast, which is great. I love watching him run and he's the perfect compliment for AR and GB.

But as I said before, he won't last nearly as long as you think (which was my point). There is no way he will be able to move as fast. And I don't see many Jerome Bettis's killing it in today's NFL. Do you?

What is he fighting already? He twisted his ankle, just like any other player does. Just because you say he won't last as long as I think doesn't make it so.

The fact that he CAN move fast and with lateral agility is what makes him so viable. Just like Bettis. That combo of speed power and size IS rare, which is why you don't see many HOFer's like Bettis killing it in today's NFL.

Mileage is far more impactful than weight. Limiting Lacy's touches is a great thing for him, the team and his FF owner's. He can still produce at a high level while getting >300 touches.

Have to agree to disagree then. They are running them 50/50 keeping Lacy healthy, and so far there has been no need for Lacy to get 75% of the carries. They're 4-0, he should be healthy and fresh for a playoff run.

Starks is just fine, I don't think he's overrated at all, he's a good handcuff to Lacy.

I wouldn't sell. There are too many indicators that suggest that things will pick up as the weather changes.

You know what the problem is with Eddie Lacy? Aaron Rodgers is just too damned good. That's it. Rodgers can do anything he wants on the field at any time right now with any personnel group and since he is that good and touches the ball every play, there simply is no reason to beat a bunch of players up running the football much. This sets up wonderfully for Lacy owners later in the season, having a back like this on a team like this and being fresh, etc, but it's a pattern now: Throw early and often when the weather is nice. Get all the precision and timing down. Get easy wins and rest. Then when the weather turns, put that mack truck out there and hammer away.

It should get better FF wise but its been bad. RB36 through 5 games in PPR for a guy who was consensus top 5 RB at draft time. Could really go for a few 2 TD games soon, Ed.

I was concerened enough that I traded him. Agree with Shut, Rodgers doesn't need to hand it off. He will throw or run himself. Lacy will have good games, but I feel better that he is on someone else's team

Few tidbits from one of the weekly Roto features. Thought i'd share in the thread.

  • Eddie Lacy actually has fewer rushing yards (257) than he did at this time last year (266) on just three fewer carries.
[*]San Diego has allowed a top-9 scoring running back in every game this season.
[*]Green Bay is running on 48.4 percent of their offensive plays, third highest percentage in the league
[*]Trust: Eddie Lacy (if it doesn’t happen this week with everything lined up, it may be a long ride rest of the way),

I'm losing faith here.

It is indeed a long ride the rest of the way. Starks is in almost every damn play.
What the heck happened with Lacy? Why is Starks running all over the field? Did Lacy get i njured? I'm in the top 100 in the $5 million contest on fanduel and need this #######G GUY in gear. Anybody know anything??

Not sure if it was mentioned in here, but watching the game today Lacy looks very heavy to me. He'll always be a big guy, but it does not look like he's carrying it well. Nagging injuries may be contributing as well, but overweight (maybe out of shape) could put him in the dog house.

Weren't there a few red flags on him with weight issues coming out of college?
