Anyone not like Eddie Lacy? (4 Viewers)

Rotoworld:

Eddie Lacy (ankle) was upgraded to "full" in Tuesday's practice.

Lacy will be good to go for Thanksgiving night against the Bears. Coach Mike McCarthy has claimed he'll stick with a timeshare in the backfield, but we certainly expect Fat Eddie to get an opportunity to establish the "hot hand." With James Starks still looming, Lacy is a lower-end RB2 for the time being.

I have no choice--rolling him out and praying he eclipses 100 yds and gets a TD. My RB's are piss-poor. Would it make sense to start Starks too if my choices are Antnio Andrews, Crowell or Woodhead?

Have him in 2 leagues, definitely starting in one since I just lost Forsett. Sitting in the other in favor of Ingram and Miller.

Saw the writing on the wall when Starks did squat with his "opportunity". The coach talked Lacy up during practice and Fat Eddie has had time to heal. 20+ carries and 100 yards was the pay off for guys with the nuts to start him. Would like to say I am surprised but I am not. If GB is going to remain competitive they will need to throw less and feed Lacy. Starks was never the starter nor was he better than Lacy at any point this season. It was cute while it lasted. Run this train down the defenses' throats with a full head of steam. That should keep Rodgers upright long enough to hit his mediocre receivers.
Which has been the late season M.O. the past two seasons. Weather changes and Lacy becomes a bludgeoning battering ram. The packers need this, the FF fans needs this.
So what's the shark move for next year? Draft him high, cuff him with a fragile back, then leave Lacy on the bench till Thanksgiving?

Or draft someone else, and trade for Lacy around Halloween?
Shark move is to stay clear...
Ridiculous. He has done nothing but help fantasy teams win the past two years. I've seen him on a lot of league winners. He's had a rocky year. Name a notable RB who, over a three year span, hasn't had one due to injury or the stars not aligning. It happens to all RBs.

So far in his career we have consistently seen that Eddie "money" Lacy is a stud down the stretch where it matters to us FF people. I'm not betting against it this year either, ESPECIALLY with all the RB injuries. He has a good a chance as any RB left standing to help teams win.

Starting him in one, currently benched in the other...although I may change my mind on the benching.

I think that this is where the payoff happens for owners patient enough to hold him and good enough to be in the playoff hunt despite his struggles.

Biggest bust in fantasy this year.

For weak-### teams and soft owners, yes, he has ruined your life.

Oh God - Eddie is looking like the favorite to win the Turkey Leg tonight...I'm not sure that's an image the Packers or NFL really want to broadcast. :)

Not even close. Ff is a wasteland of woulda, coulda, shoulda players this year.

Eddie is looking like Eddie again. Great to see for the FF playoff stretch!!!
I hear you but the choice to roll with Starks with the game on the line that last drive does not increase my confidence. Lacy plows to a td on a pass but It is all Staks in the 4th for the most part. I think it will be a crap shoot on who is featured the next few games. is there anyone who has more confidence than me? I hope so!

Perhaps actually watching a few Packers games might help provide context for you. Starks is usually the hurry up offense back because he is quicker and can get out of bounds. This has been happening for years, not just this 4th quarter. At some point we just have to stop looking for things to be worried about. Lacy has put up two solid performances in a row. Lets just start there and see what happens.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the insights.

Fat Eddie looked fantastic last night aside from that fumble .... but in defense of the fumble it was cold and wet and he did not see the hit coming from behind ... it could've happened to anyone and I think he did take a seat for a while because of it.

Having Starks in over Lacy at the end may have costs them the game.

Greenbay played the last 2:45 of the game as if it was the last 30 seconds.

1st and 10 at the Chicago 19 with 1:47 left I thought for sure we would see Lacy ...didn't happen.

1st and Goal from the 8 with :51 left (Basically an eternity for Rogers) no way Lacy cant be in there the way he was running... didn't happen.

Instead they throw 4 incomplete passes and leave :29 on the clock ?!?!

Monk, this was my original thinking.

One of the more annoying formations watching the Packers is when they line Cobb up in the backfield. They have done this the last couple of years and it was fine when it was working, but it is not working and is leading to less opportunities for the running game.

I think lacy had 14 touches in the first half and only 7 in the second half. McCarthy seemed super agitated with the fumble. Right now it seems at times the Packers want to blame everyone on O but Rodgers, who quite frankly has not been very good the last month and a bit.

It was/is clear after last night though that Lacy looks a lot closer to who we saw the first 2 years in the league. Starks is a very good back up RB who has been getting far too much burn this year.

Also I think McCarthy beleives as I beleive that his TD was no TD. I didn't see the ball cross the line. I think lacy got lucky. Lost it clean as he was crossing the line. Rolled him out last 2 weeks out of necessity. Not very confident for next week

I think the Packers benching Eddie at the end of the first half when they had to settle for the short field goal was the mistake they made in playing Starks over Lacy. I really think Lacy would have gotten the TD when they ran those 2-3 consecutive plays with Starks and he didn't do anything with them.

This is like scripted play at this point. The weather is turning and upping Lacy's use is what has (and will) help the Packers. They need this guy carrying a lot down the stretch and making teams not want to get in there and bash with him in the cold. He is definitely the type of guy that doesn't shoot out of a cannon but if the weather can give him that one little extra step or missed tackle, he can get into a rumble mode and that's hard to stop on a cold, hard (slick) field).

I don't like him this week against the lions, never thought id say that....
No? I think it's clear the Pack need to run it a bit more considering the way their WRs are playing.
I agree but unfortunately it hasn't been easy to run on the Lions the past 4 or 5 weeks.
Not sure they are hard to run on or just the teams they have played haven't been able to run effectively. Broncos run game was non-existent when they played. THe Eagles are a dumpster fire, etc. The chiefs are a good running team and they DID run on them. Think that line of thinking is linked to the opponents more than the ability of the Lions.

In 2014 the Lions were the number one rush defense in rushing yards allowed and rushing yards per game allowed (69.3 ypg). They have taken a step back from that obviously without Suh, Fairley, and Levy who has been their best LB by far. Despite their struggles this year the defense has been playing a lot better in recent games.

Since the bye week the Lions have given up 47 (Packers) 52 (Oakland) 68 (Eagles) total rushing yards.

Lacy is starting to look like himself again, IMO, which irks me greatly.

I got tired of waiting on him and dumped him for Marshawn back in Week 8 and thought I was getting away with highway robbery, in spite of Marshawn's struggles at the time. I regret everything.

If Fat Eddie finishes this season strong, I have no idea what to think of him next year for redrafts. Should be interesting to see what his ADP looks like heading into next season.

You may be right but each of those games I can see reasons why ...

Packers - Were foolishly trying to teach Lacy a lesson and found out the hard way what everyone else already new ... Starks is not a featured back and Starks is not Lacy.

Oakland - Aside from an occasional long run Murray kind of sucks but he still did manage to score a TD

Eagles - A) Got blown out so couldn't rely on the run. B) The announcers kept saying what a bad fit Murray was for the Eagles Offense C) Mathews was out.

Yikes !!!!!! Looking at past games Lacy has not been very good against the Lions ... Particularly @ Detroit !!

Though these games were against Suh Fairley, and Levy

2013

Home 23 for 99 0 TDs

Away 10 for 16 0 TDS

2014

Home 26 for 100 0 TDs 1 Fumble

Away 11 for 36 0 TDS 1 Fumble

So what are we thinking this week? I rolled the dice with him last week and was rewarded. Can he have 3 straight 100yd games?

Detroit is no. 13 most FF point allowed to RBs (FFT). I'll take it.

Lacy was inactive in the GB game against Detroit due to a groin injury. Prior to that, Starks was playing better than an unhealthy Lacy.

Starks still had a decent game including through the air.

Ok ...You could believe either of those statements if you'd like.
