Anyone starting Barber *and* Felix? (1 Viewer)

In my return yardage league, Barber is #3 and Felix is #7. While it might seem a bit odd to consider playing 2 RBs from the same team, numbers are numbers and stats are stats.

Have any Barber/Jones owners played both or considered playing both? Is this a simple matter of playing the RBs you think give you the best chance to win, regardless of whether or not they are on the same NFL team?

Finally, are there any scenarios where this was a solid strategy in the past? I know some people did LT/Turner the last few years, but IMO that was more risky as you had to hope for a blowout where Turner got mop-up duty, vs. Jones def. getting his touches regardless of score ...

I can't condone that strategy no matter what the circumstances are.
I know what you are saying. It doesn't feel right, and I haven't pulled the trigger. But the circumstances are had I done it the last three weeks would be:Week/Barber/Jones1/23/122/25/273/23/16Now obviously in my return yardage league 27 is an outlier. Without that return, he wouldn't have netted much more than 1 point (the obvious downside of this strategy). But given the buzz from Jerrah that they really want to get Felix more involved after Week 2, and then seeing him more involved in Week 3, it might not be a bad bye week strategy ...

No, but I'm starting Portis and Betts.... :lmao:
**HIJACK**you know, i was wondering the same thing about if there were people who started both jones-drew and taylor as well as ricky williams and ronnie brown for example.

Not a hijack at all. I'm equally interested in hearing from other members of the start two good RBs from the same team crowd, so MJD & FT are a perfect correlation IMO.

It depends on what you get for return yardage but this doesn't seem like a bad option to me. Both backs have been productive this season and if you get 1 pt for 10 return yards, I don't see anything wrong with rolling with Jones to cover a bye or injury. He has been productive enough offensively to warrant a few carries and receptions as well.

done it the last 2 weeks and will so until it fails

1-15 on returns

oh ok, thanks. i just didn't want to steal the spotlight from your question about the dallas RBs. i put a request in for fred taylor who is on waivers in my league, and i own jones-drew. i could realistically see myself in a situation where i may have to start both, and if they both produced like they did last weekend against IND, it may not be such a bad thing.same with brown/williams actually - williams still got 98 yards, though a lot of it was in garbage time.

You can throw Jon Stewart and DeAngelo Williams as well as LenDale and Chris Johnson in the mix. I think, under certain circumstances, they can be productive while used in tandem. In these cases, RBBC might not be such a detriment.

:excited: absolutely - missed those two.would denver come into play here? i guess it's a pretty big stretch since i'd rather not have selvin young or andre hall in my starting lineup, but i could definitely see having michael pittman in there.

I don't think so. If I am going to start 2 RBBC guys in the same committee, I would want the 2 to have defined roles....and I would want the RBBC to be limited to 2. Just my opinion, though.
