I've started Stafford, Johnson, Hanson and the Lions defense four times this year.
This week, I added Smith.
I'm not usually a big fan of tying fortunes to tightly to one team, but events at my draft led me in that direction (Stafford hung around into the 7th round and I just couldn't leave him out there.) And as I said earlier in the thread, if they're good players, it will usually work out. I'd much rather have more talented players lumped together on one team than be more diverse with weaker players. That's for sure.
When it comes to the fantasy playoffs, it's a little more difficult, as a high concentration can make your team more volatile. However, if you think about having a QB, RB, WR and PK all on one team, some of the effects are self-regulating. If Detroit has a strong passing day, then Smith might suffer, but big days by Stafford and Johnson compensate for it. If moderate (not severe) red zone struggles arise, a big day from Hanson can make up for a missed TD or two. The only thing that can totally take you down is if Detroit just completely can't get out of their own way. As in last week at Chicago. Seeing that matchup and the wind, the only Lion I started was Johnson, so that worked out OK for me too.
If I make the fantasy championship in Week 16, I'll almost certainly start all my Lions and maybe the defense against San Diego. If they're my best players and get me to the championship, I'll try to win the title or go down fighting with them.
