Colston's numbers seemed to be very pedestrian. 3 catches for 38 yards.

Was he not targeted like he's been in previous games? Dropped passes?

I picked him up last week and passed on Berrian. Luckily, I had him on my bench. I'm hoping I didn't grab the wrong guy. :(

Anyway, stats can be misleading, so I'd like to hear from guys who watched the game how his performance was. I'm trying to decide if his big weeks were a fluke or if this week was.

He was pretty well covered, and the catch-and-sprints to Bush were working out really well, so they just didn't get the ball to him very often. That said, Peyton's going to have to start stretching the field, and we'll hopefully see that starting with the Eagles next week. The Eagles are good enough at moving the ball that the Saints have to be able to keep the Eagles D honest and sustain drives - and that means getting those linebackers to have to cover somebody instead of selling out on the run. I'm sure we'll see Horn stretching the field and Colston coming through the seam over the middle this week.

It seems weird that Colston and Berrian were still available last week. Weren't they both in the top 5?

Some leagues it takes a few weeks before anyone believes that the Bears and Saints can have a real receiver who will produce.

Our league used to have a supplemental draft after week 4. When we went with a web based league manager, we decided to abolish the sup. draft and go to a free agency form of pickup system. For some reason, the league just agreed to start allowing free agency after week 4, to stay consistant with our system.

He didn't drop any catchable balls, and looked great when he had the ball in his hands. Like someone already said, they were basically doing the Bush dump offs and running the majority of the game. He's still REALLY good. I think he'll have a Boldin, Randy Moss type rookie season. He's on pace to get 80 catches, 1350 yards, and 12 TDs.

Most NFL defenses are capable of taking away at least one offensive weapon. IMHO it was no coincidence that Bush had a huge day catching the ball. Of 21 completions, only 7 were completed to WR's. That tells you right there what the Bucs were trying to stop. Meanwhile, the TE's and RB's get 14 catches and the RB's run for almost 150 yards. There's nothing to panic about here.

I disagree. He dropped one ball he absolutely should have caught, and probably should have had another catch where he was slow pulling the ball in and the DB (think it was Bolden) knocked it free.

Wasn't Ronde covering him as well?

Barber was on Coltson a few times, but whenever Bush was lined up in the slot or at WR, Barber was on him.

Don't forget his stats last week were very inflated before that 86 yard catch with 1:28 left. He was 4/46/0 until that point.
