Archer (2 Viewers)

This has quickly become my new favorite show (just discovered it a month or so ago, got caught up via netflix streaming).

In tonights episode, Archer has a contract on a mountain climb. As usual, he doesn't read the briefing. In addition to the guide, the three other climbers are from Germany, Italy and Japan. When Lana asks if he remembers ANYTHING from skimming it, he mentions that the target's nationality was from a WW II axis power (that narrows it down to everybody :) ).

Only watched to the first 10 minutes, but a clear homage to the Trevanian novel, Eastwood movie vehicle, The Eiger Sanction (BTW, a great novel and pretty good movie).

Great season and a great season finale.

But did anyone else notice the joke by Cyril about crashing the ship into the ground and killing them all? Yikes. Bad timing for a joke like that.

Haven't watched the finale yet, but I agree about the season. I'd say the visit to Lana's parents, the elevator episode and the mountain climbing episode were my favorites.

 
One of my buddies always hosts a season kickoff party where we watch old episodes and do some archer based gambling and drinking games

Adding these to the shot list next year thanks to this season

Black Mexican - Tequila and Coffee Liqueur

Tang and Rubbing Alcohol (will sub in cheap vodka)

 
Anyone know if there are going to be new episodes? I hate that they don't have new episodes more often, but at the same time it makes me like the show that much more. For the last 2 weeks, my husband and I have been watching the DVR'ed ones we saved almost every night.

Having just re-watched all of them, I think the writing got lazy in Vice. The idea of the Vice season in general is great I think, and there were tons of opportunities to do fun things. However, it went to the 'old' gags over and over again instead of the past snappy dialogue. Binge watching the season feels like there were about 10 jokes that were in every freaking episode.

 
Okay so I am three or four seasons behind. Are they still doing the ISIS spy agency thing or does it change up every season now? I saw a couple episodes where Cheryl (or Cristal or whatever) was some kind of country singer, didn't think it was nearly as funny. Was that a one off?

That season started great but really fell off but hey it's still Archer.

Okay so it was a one off...whole season. Good enough. I hope they made some good jokes (i.e. horribly inappropriate) about why they are no longer called ISIS.

They did not. The creator said he didn't want to give ISIS any more publicity than it already had. He said he was sickened by the things that they did and that his fake spy company shared the same name. He said because of that, they planned on just talking about the name change, then moving on and never touching on it again.

He said he was sickened by the things that they did and that his fake spy company shared the same name. He said because of that, they planned on just talking about the name change, then moving on and never touching on it again.

Probably a good stance. Unfortunately all the old episodes prominently feature ISIS. I'm sure in 20 years people will associate the two in some way.

Last season just became avail. on Netflix.

Yes, it is a hilarious show, become one of my favorites (with Better Call Saul).

I was so confused... I was in Europe last week and watched ~8 episodes of season 6.  Back in the US this week, and I couldn't find it... until tonight.  It must have been available earlier in Europe.
