Starting Delhomme over Big Ben. Starting DeSean Jackson over Braylon, which is disturbing me.

Just benched Braylon for Bowe. Don't like doing it and don't feel good about it. Not sure about benching Santonio for Desaun Jackson or Antonio Gates yet.Have to stick with JLewis and Winslow.
Isn't it going to be windy in Kansas City too?

I am so back/forth on this. Just reinserted Edwards for Patten. Not sure what to do. Hate to miss a 2 TD performance from Edwards.

Thinking right now that I will sit Big Ben in favor of Warner.
Somehow, I feel that us owners of BB and Warner will face many dilemmas this season, as we did last week. The good news is that the Cards game is at 4pm, giving those in leagues that allow late adjustments to evaluate the weather for another few hours.

FWIW I wouldn't bench any position players just because of the wind. I think it's reasonable to bench the kicker if the wind turns out to be an isue close to gametime. But I wouldn't bench any other position.

I've re-evaluated and will roll the dice w/ Santonio tonight. I'd go / Vincent Jackson, but I already have Cutler & Marshall going--I hate having too many players going in a single game. I just hope a Clev DB falls down & Ben can get a deep one to Santonio tonight.

I won't reveal the projection but based on FBG's final projections of the week, they are strongly advocating starting Roethlisberger.
All rb's should have a good day.
I think Parker has a great day; I'd start Lewis but I don't think he'll be great against the Steelers.I was surprised by the projection for Roethlisberger. Either FBG thinks he'll overcome the weather issues or they aren't taking them into consideration at all.
Without looking back at game logs from last year, I think I remember Ben having a HUGE day in a horrible rain storm last year. I think he threw for 5 TDs. He played college ball in Ohio, and now plays in Pitt. This guy can play in bad weather. The Miami game didnt count IMO - the field conditions were the issue in that game moresoe than the rain. He stays in my lineup this week.
I saw that game and I regretted benching him. However, I do not recall there being bad windy conditions, only rain. The wind in this game be be a deciding factor for me.

These panic about the weather threads come up every year. I factor it in when I've got a tough call, but there's no way I'm benching a stud for a scrub unless it's extraordinary circumstances.

I've just seen too many times where the wind keeps the QB for putting the ball in the air for more than 15 yards, but the poor footing turns a routine 5 yard out into a 80 yard TD because the DB slips.

Kickers? Sure, I'll bench a guy in inclement weather. But they're just kickers so who cares.

I'll help you out. I'm keeping Edwards in and Patten on the bench. I'm a huge Browns fan. :D They won't be able to run so they will have to pass to move the ball. They won't have a choice.

I don't sense panic in this thread. I think the real debate comes into play when you have another starter whose talent is not a big dropoff from BB, or whose matchup may not be quite as good as BB's matchup. In this situation, the weather may warrant benching BB.

It is hard enough to kick at Heinz in good weather! Here's my plan, in case anyone is in similar situation. I don't have another K on my roster, but Akers (playing Mon) is available, so I'm going to watch the weather and consider a swap with Reed, though I'd rather not have to drop him. Also, by evening will know how most of my players performed; if up or down by a lot, kicker won't likely impact results.

I agree. I've seen Favre, Kitna and Delhomme all mentioned as replacements for Roethlisberger. Given the weather, I think starting any one of them ahead of Ben this week is a prudent move. My league is a start-2 QB league and my choice is Roethlisberger or grabbing Griese off the WW and plugging him in for one week. At this point, I'm sticking with Ben because I don't see Griese having a considerable amount of upside even though it's a great matchup for him.But if the winds in Cleveland get to 35 mph or more by the start of the later games all bets are off.

i'm benching ben for delhomme as well. it's not just the weather, it's also worries over ben's injury and the potential for a blowout in which ben either doesn't throw much or gets the early hook.i'm starting braylon, but my best other option is j. gage. if the conditions are wet, i don't see why braylon can't bust a big one if a CB slips. otherwise, i'd guess the CBs will be hesitant to try to bump him too much on the line of scrimmage (bump+big, strong WR+wet field could= slippage), so there may be plenty of underneath opportunities as well.

Ike has been moving rather quickly, wouldn't be surprised if it has moved out of the area by game time.

I have both Big Ben and Santonio Holmes. If I wanted to replace them, my only options are Griese and Galloway. Pretty crazy how I have these combo deals. I wonder about Griese's preparation to come in and have a solid day. Still mulling it over.

I just saw the wind blowing like crazy in the Cincy-Ten game. I think I am going to pull the trigger and go with Griese and Joey over Big Ben and Santonio.
