Is it really beyond reason that Foster could've had his name added to an image of someone else's hamstring tear just to F with the fantasy football community? He himself said it was a joke soon after and him jogging indicates less severity than how that image appears. Wish we could get a doctor to give some input regarding the image. So I know this is a stupid question, so please don't all jump down my throat but does anyone think there could be potential disciplinary action made by Kubiak with Foster posting his medical situation out there? Most coaches want to keep this stuff as hush hush as possible. Maybe he won't miss a game with his injury, but maybe he'll miss one for being so forthcoming with information on Twitter? Actually, that is the most sane question in the thread so far.But I don't think he would punish him by making him sit. Maybe in some other way? I'm sure every NFL team has social media rules now, apart from whatever the NFL itself has set forth.

Didn't something like this happen to Addai a few years ago? It started with a pull, then progressed into a tear. He never really did much that year IIRC. Not saying Arian is in the same situation, it just seems similar to me.

I don't know a whole lot about a lot of stuff....like tweets and x-rays.....but Foster's reaction after he rehurt it is about all I need......that to me said more than much of the information we are or are not getting right now....

for any of you in here that have ever really injured your hammy....you know how it feels and there isn't a ton you can do for it....and you would also know that little nagging feeling that lingers after you try to come back.....almost like it can go again at any time...I realize these guys get the best treatment there is, but his reaction to REinjuring it says a bunch....and I could be wrong, but often the second reinjuring can be worse than the first....

would not be surprised to see him out 4 weeks.....

Not sure if anyone else posted this yet, but that doesn't look like a "tear" per se. It does look like a pretty significant sprain, which consists of individual fiber "tears." So calling it a hamstring "tear" is essentially the same thing, but just sounds worse (as if the muscle were pulled from the bone - that isn't the case). The white signals on the MRI represent increased water, or edema, from muscle inflammation. Honestly, it all looks pretty consistent with how they described his original injury.

He should be resting. He will get back to 100% eventually, the question is how soon. I'll be picking up Tate in the late rounds, but I was going to do that anyways.

Keep in mind - it's very difficult to draw conclusions based on one grainy tweeted image. MRIs consist of hundreds of images for a reason.

As fate would have it, the Foster owner in my league is an actual ER Doctor. He and I go back and forth about each other's teams all the time. He responded to the e-mail I sent him with all this "Foster fiasco", and he wrote back - "Well I saw foster's post and MRI. I hope they sit him week one. Doug ------ Medical Director, the hospital he works at".When he talks bad about the players on his own roster, he's normally being very serious.

While I don't doubt your story... And dont totally disagree that Foster may end up sitting week 1.And accurate and unbiased statement cannot be made on a single MRI photo.

There is a tear. It may be small and within the muscle, but no one can tell without the other images. She probably means it wasn't avulsed off the bone, which would be way more serious. It just sounds worse when you say partial tear rather than muscle pull or muscle strain, but they are the same thing.

Well, if this draft is in a few hours Tate will be going a lot earlier than he was yesterday. I think Without knowing anything further I would avoid this whole situation if I had an early first round pick and could just go with ADP, Rice, etc. Let someone else deal with it. If you have a later first round pick and he falls I might consider it. Hamstrings are fickle injuries. This could really be a nagging injury that hinders someone all year off and on..or it could be fine and he's out there for the first game.

FWIW, Sigmund Bloom is tearing up Twitter saying that the guy to have right now is Ward, not Tate and that the Tate love is horribly misplaced.

Reason given is that Ward is a better pass blocker and the Texans/Kubiak want a to be able to run or throw at any time and they don't trust Tate to not get Schaub killed.

I happen to have Foster on my team... couldn't decide WHO to pickup for a handcuff, but finally after looking up their profiles at nfl.com went with Tate. I simply decided with that Terrell Davis Goatee he HAD to be the better option. Also realized this was an even better decision than I anticipated being Kubiac was coaching with the Broncos during TD's hayday, coincidence? Maybe.

As I said in the Texans thread a week or two back, I think Tate is the one to have this season if Foster is hurt. Ward is more of a straight ahead, pound the ball runner and would be used more than Tate when Foster is healthy because he is a change of pace from Foster and keeps the defense from getting comfortable in how they play the run. When Foster is hurt, though, Tate is much more of a typical Kubiak one-cut and go runner, and he would fill Fosters role if Foster doesn't play.

I agree with an earlier post that earlier in the season the split of carries between Tate and Ward would probably be more 50/50 because Ward would definitely be used in passing downs if Kubiak is more comfortable with him as a pass protector. As the season goes on, and assuming Tate progresses as a pass blocker, Tate would become the more dominant running back.
