How many QBs have won the National Championship and a Super bowl.
vince Young.
As the starter.
Looked it up earlier today. 5 total, 3 as starters in both games.

1. Namath

2. Stabler

3. Montana

4. Aikman (bench at Oklahoma in 85)

5. Brady (bench at Michigan in 97)

Edit: Originally listed Starr instead of Namath
If we are counting non-starters. Flynn technically counts.
Brian Griese started ahead of Brady on that Michigan team and he's got a ring.

Matt Cavenaugh and Jeff Rutledge both have 2 Super Bowl rings as backups (they quarterbacked Pitt in '76 and Alabama in '78).

Stabler didn't start in '65 (Sloan), and the '66 team finished 3rd.

Panthers are also an example of why you stick with a QB and a coach even during rough patches, familiarity and talent can turn into something dominant if you just give them time

Correct me if I'm wrong... but if the Panthers win the Super Bowl they would be the quickest expansion team in the modern era to win a Super Bowl, in their 21st year of existence.

I mean actual expansion team. Not a "Ravens left their Browns history in Cleveland but already had a complete roster" expansion team.

If you take in account the pats cheating they already won 13 years ago.

Guess we're still getting by on our easy schedule.
Are Panther fans still salty about that? That narrative stopped after week 9. No question they were the best team in NFL in 2nd half even with the loss
Seattle fans were using that to explain why they would crush us.
And who did you play all season?
They played five of the playoff teams. Texans, Redskins, Green Bay, Seattle, and Arizona.

The Cowboys were an expansion team in 1960 and won the Super Bowl 11 years later.

The Dolphins were an AFL expansion team in 1966 and won the Super Bowl 6 years later.

edit: but since then, the only expansion teams to win were the Bucs (22 years), Saints (42 years) and Seahawks (37 years).

Wow. I can't remember seeing a worse playoff performance at QB. Andy Dalton is laughing at Palmer.
I don't think I have seen a bigger difference in the way a guy played during the season and how he played in the playoffs that wasn't a result of an injury. Palmer was so good all season, a legitimate MVP consideration. And he was nothing short of awful today.

Pretty amazing what Cam has done without a whole lot on O besides Olsen.
Shows the power of a dominant offensive line. Just like Patriots showed the power of a bad one
Let's not Ginn went 9th and Stewart 13th overall. Plenty of talent there, but yes, that O-line makes it go. They're great.

And if the Packers D.B.'s had thumbs he would have had 3 more Int.'s last week.

So Ginn being picked 9th means he has been a juggernaut in the NFL? Most knowledgeable people know better than that.

Tranquilo tigre, nobody mentioned any comic book characters. But it's worth noting that there is indeed talent on that offense. Cam didn't reverse field for that 22 yard score, nor get all the YAC on the long TD. Pretty sure he'd be the first to say his team is damn talented. His WR's were open all game long, as they were through much of the season.

Flynn has a ring and a national championship?
QB for 07 LSU and on the Packers in 2010.
Bernie Kosar was Orange Bowl MVP as a redshirt freshman in the 1983 championship game vs Nebraska. He was a backup to Aikman and played the final snap of Superbowl 28, a kneel down; in the championship game vs the 49ers, he relieved a concussed Aikman and threw a TD to Harper to put the game out of reach.
