Ashley Lelie (1 Viewer)

Plummer and Lelie are developing chemistry quicker than I thought they would. Yes, the long td was blown in the secondary but after watching three games, I would rather have Lelie than Rod Smith. Skeletor is drawing up new plays featuring the speedster downfield and Plummer is looking for him, not at him. He is no one week wonder, he becomes a full time starter this week for a lot of teams, good job in being patient with him. :)

Al you are you pretty upbeat for an owner who was just had his ### handed to him on MNF. What gives?
Son, I got more MNF wins than anybody, so I can be upbeat. The 100 year old scotch lends a pep in my step as well. While we lose, we still profit, do not forget that. We will be back sooner than later, I'm going to make an offer they can't refuse. If you hear Skeletor screaming tomorrow morning, you can guarantee there is a Bronco head in bed with him.

And one more thing, who designed those blue unis, the costume designer for Cats. We may have lost tonight but it looked like the Broncos had been consulted by queer eye for the straight guy. Better to look good than feel good.

Not sure what I saw on MNF can be attributed to "chemistry" between the Lelie and Plummer. On one big play, the Raiders blew a coverage and left Lelie all alone - Plummer simply hit him. Heck, I think even Gannon could have completed that one :boxing: How much of Lelies time (and targets) was due to the fact that Smith got tossed for his right-cross on the ump?

the guy has one good game after two bad ones, and you are ready to praise him as if he is the 2nd coming of anquan boldin? 2nd coming of anquan boldin really sounds good, doesn't it? for my money, i think andre johnson is a much better pick up, and he is still available in many leagues.

I'd have to agree with "Al"...whenever Rod Smith get thrown out of games...Ashley Lelie is a MUST START!

FWIW, Ash had 2 catches for 88 yards and a TD when Rod Smith decked the ref.

Any league where A.Johnson is available isn't worth playing in cause it's too small or full of nitwits.
oh please, spare me. if you see ladanian tomlinson waived in your league, will you quit immediately because the other owner was a moron? if patrick ramsey wasn't drafted in your leauge, will you quit?

I would never be in a "PUBLIC" league that would do something like that. I only join leagues I know most of the teams.

SMOKING CRACK!!!! Let's see...He gets three catches for 100+ yards and a score. One of those receptions was due to BLOWN COVERAGE and it just so happens that it was a 44 yard catch for the TD. He will not get those "gimmes" every week. Take that away and he has a very pedestrian night of 2 catches of 56 yards. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut and that's way I attribute his performance to last night. It's almost laughable that you guys are so desperate for this guy to succeed that you don't see the forest for the trees. He is mediocre at best and anyone still clinging to him is doing so on false pretences. Patience has nothing to do with it. It's more like stupidity.Give it up. He's not the savior and never will be. Go ahead and start him next week. I guarantee you will lose.

"If [insert hot players name here] is still available, then your league sucks" is becoming the most tired refrain on this board. It needs to be retired along with "Is this collusion?" and "Always start your studs."

You also guaranteed in no uncertain terms that Priest Holmes' career was over. You'll have to forgive me if I don't take your guarantees very seriously.

You forgot "I wish I was in your league", or the many variants thereof.

Dude, why are you so angry? I'd say it's pretty likely is that 2 years from now Lelie is going to be at least a #1 or #2 on every fantasy roster in virtually every league. He has basically the entire package you'd look for, but he's still somewhat raw. I don't think I'd be excited to have him as my #2 WR right now, but in a dynasty/keeper league, I'd love to have him. In fact, I do.

I agree. Let it go.. to the people that tend to say these things, sorry we all can't be in the world's best league with the greatest collection of fantasy owners, like yours.

Are you serious?? I thought those were some of the best uniforms I have seen in years. They were SICK! Oh and I am NOT a bronco fan and never have been.

Could have had him on two fronts, but alas the TJ Duckett mystery continues... :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

ashley lelie did his damage in the first Qt when Rod Smith was playing. Smith was ejected half way throught he 2 QT. I dont see your point. Lelie believe it or not might be the WR to have on that team. Hes definatley the fastest and plummer has looked his way the most.

2 catches for 56 yards...sounds like about 28 yards per catch to me.28 yards per catch does NOT sound pedestrian to me. ;) Realizing that it was only 1 game, the kid had 3 long catches. He is supposed to be the up-and-comer of the team, and their existing receivers are not getting younger. Bottom line is the kid has some talent and is worth a roster spot on speculation alone (as long as you are not counting on him as your #1 or #2 WR), especially if you are in a keeper league or one that rewards long touchdowns.

i will be starting Lelie as my #3 WR and wont think twice about it. Its really not hard to see the direction Lelie is going. You cant say "if this didnt happen" he would of had this. truth is there are defensive break downs every week. Ok Toomer had a blown coverage on sunday i dont want him either.Lelie is still learning to be a legit WR in the NFL but when he's making the WR impact on the team hes on my eyes light up. As I said before i wish everyone had your opinion, lelie will only get better this year.

Designer costume for Cats? Haven't you learned by now Al not to judge a players skirt by it's color? See last Super Bowl as a daily reminder. Now, onto teams who aren't as old as your scotch.....

I hear you loud and clear and have moved Lelie up to the WR#3 spot over TTaylor.Side note: my last name is Boone....scary.

Certainly this was just one good game by Lelie but the kid has big play potential. Consider that the Broncos first three wins have been blowouts and little passing was needed in the 2nd half of any game. Lelie had only three passes thrown his way last night and converted all three for over 100 yards, that is impressive blown coverage or not, Rod Smith or not. Imagine what he will do when he gets 8-10 looks a game.It wouldn't suprise me if Lelie is the Broncos go to guy by the end of the year. The play action fakes to Portis will always be big plays for Lelie. Shanahan knows what he has here, and expect Lelie to be a stud sooner rather than later. He is a great WR3 right now and I expect him to only get better.

Bought Lelie (& J. Porter) very cheap in a dynasty league this year :P Also just recently traded moe. for him in a keeper league. McCaffery's almost done, AL's faster than R. Smith. Nothing but upside.... :D

With the RBs getting hurt left and right you have to think that the Broncos will have to use the pass more which should result in Lelie getting even more opps to rack up points. Then again, he racked up his points before Portis took himself out of the game and BEFORE Smith was ejected. Probably just a simple Plum and Lelie getting more use to each other. If you want a little bit of yards for the first then you throw it to Mc and Smith but if you want big time plays downfield you throw it to Lelie.

As I've said before I'd look at KRob last season as a comparison fantasywise. Slow start with a nice game here or there but pretty consistent the last half of the season.

Uhhh...Already addresses this in a previous post. Had my reservations about Holmes coming out of NFL draft, but preseason quelled my fears. Like I said before, I have him in two leagues and dropped down to get him.Don't make yourself look like an idiot. Have the facts before you post.

OK, so you now say that you completely reversed your position on a player from "He won't ever play again" to actively pursuing the guy in drafts. Thanks for the new info.Is this supposed to make me feel BETTER about your "guarantees"? I'm a little confused. So in a couple of weeks, you'll be saying Lelie is the next Rice after you have been proven wrong as you were in the case of Holmes? How does this make your "guarantee" more reliable?I simply remembered your last guarantee and mentioned it as evidence that your "guarantees" aren't worth much. I apparently did not not do enough "Bristol" research to complete the analysis. I guess I should have assumed you might COMPLETELY reverse your position within a very short timespan. My bad.And I'M the idiot.

Lets see...Very short equals 6 months to you? (April to September?). I posted about Holmes' status waaaayyy back in April right after they drafted Johnson and when a lot of speculation was going around about his health. As we got closer the season and things started to get a lot less murky, drafting Priest was the right decision for me. If you don't like it, too bad. Nobody likes hearing from you anyway. Go home!!

You cant even look at the first two games, last night was the first time that Plummer had a pulse. Plummer looked good last night and he looked for Lelie for big plays, if you can't take a postive out of that, I don't know what to tell you.We are only in game 3 and the guy has already had a 100 yard game. Do you think he stops there? I don't, I think he continues to improve and produce. You can say blown coverage all you want, but the coverage is easier to blow, when you've got a speedy guy like Lelie streaking through the defense. I also saw another catch where Lelie clearly was burning Charles Woodson, he had him by a few steps. This guy is going to be a player and I expect a pretty solid second half if not sooner.

Like Kevan Barlow......
I've wondered for a long time why Barlow couldn't/didn't/wouldn't just up and one day use his god given talents and take the job away from Hearst. For two years I waited for him to pan out then it occured to me.... he doesn't pass protect well after two/three years? Pass protection is all about "wanting to". It isn't hard, you just have to want to do it. And it all came back to me in a flood of memories... Barlow's underlying problem in college, and on draft day and now in the NFL is motivation. His college coach called him out on it, league GMs called him out on it and recently SF has called him out on it.My point: Ashley Lelie works his ### off. It is documented by the media, the Denver coaching staff and other players on Denver's roster. Ashley Lelie is extremely gifted, that issue cannot be disputed. The difference between Lelie the talented WR and Barlow the talented RB is one works hard and the other doesn't.I believe Lelie will be a star in the NFL someday. But that won't happen until the Denver Broncos lose some talent or Lelie takes Rod Smith's job as #1. There just simply aren't enough footballs in Denver to facilitate great numbers out of Portis, Smith, Sharpe, Lelie and McCaffrey. We know Portis is going to get his but everyone else is going to have to share for the next year or so.Based on talent/skills/size/speed and work ethic, a year or two from now I expect Lelie will be a legit top 10 fantasy WR.

OK, now I understand. It takes a couple of months for your guarantees to become worthless. Please excuse me for reducing that time-frame to a couple of weeks. The point that you aren't getting is that you seem to make judgements on very little info and spout them as if they were well-reasoned positions when they are in fact knee-jerk reactions based on very little. You type a lot and make strong statements, but you really have very little to back them up which is why your statements CHANGE so dramatically.I'm out. Enjoy your day.

You want facts? Ok, here's a FACT....Through 3 games Lelie has been targeted a WHOPPING 9 times. 9 TIMES!!! Even your thick skull would see that it's only 3 per game. Do you really think that a player getting targeted three times a game will really have any effect on the outcome of your game? The guy who started this thread sure seems to and that's why I called him out.If you want to come on here and just make yourself look big by rehashing topics from 6 months ago, then by all means do it. People see right through the paper thin guise. As I discussed before, the Holmes comments were made right after the Chiefs picked up Johnson in the draft. A lot of things were being said about his hip and A LOT of weird stuff was being said. Please tell me where I "guaranteed" that his career was over. I may have said that I felt it was over but never guaranteed it.Again, get your facts before you make yourself look any dumber than you are.

I look at the glass as half full with Lelie. Bristol points out that Lelie has gotten only 9 looks in three games. Obviously not many. But with only 9 looks Lelie has 6 catches 150some yards and a TD. Imagine what he'll do when he gets 9 looks a game? I don't think the day is far off that we'll see exactly that. The Broncos have yet to play in a tight game, all 2nd half blowouts.

Do I need to say anymore about Lelie? He is a flat out stud, now bring him up in the rankings, thank you.
