I'm going to let you in on a little secret about something that's even better than reading or posting in bed......SEX!A lot of people read every night in bed before they go to sleep. I tap on a laptop instead. Just a comparison. It relaxes me enough so I can sleep (I'm a wound up type of guy).Makes sense...except for the part about people reading. In bed, and nowhere to plug in nearby. (some people read, I post on FBGPower cord down?Hope my laptop battery holds up...*turns down screen brightness*.) And, I don't want to get up and force the other party to wake up as well.

Yeah I had JQ, a good stealing hand from LP. After the flop came ace high, I figured that I had to continuation bet and represent an ace.I hate going all in on the very next hand because its looks like I'm just on tilt, but with K8 and only 3 BBs left and the blinds about to be on me in 3 hands, I pretty much had to.Figured that ace was bad news.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed, but I can't complain too much. All of this poker really is starting to wear on me a bit, and I'm only 12 days in, which scares me. Being late in MTTs and playing high stakes really is an emotional roller coaster. But I have a vacation coming up in a few weeks, which will be a nice diversion.Anyway, thanks for the sweat all....will be back tomorrow.Agreed. That's cool. You know better than we do what you should do. Most people though (even in real high stress jobs) take at least one day off a week to recharge. I'm trying to take this seriously as a profession. And I realize that tons of people get up each morning wishing they could go back to sleep instead of going to work....so I'm not going to complain about the "rigors" of playing online poker. If it affects my play, then I'll definitely take a break. But as long as I'm doing well, I want to rough it out.
And as I said, I have a week long vacation coming up at the end of this month in which I won't be playing any poker at all, so I'm definitely going to try to play until then every day.

Maybe if you're playing 10 hours straight every day or played a couple of months without a day. Basically he can clock in and out whenever he wants, the only exception being tournies he choses to participate in. Assani's got the right attitude if he's going to do this professionally. In you subscribe to the theory that you're more skilled then everyone else, then it's mostly a matter of time crunching out hands.Still, most pro's are going to take a day or two off during the week. Thanks for the heads up man...appriciated.Hey Assani:
I see you are playing with eaglekiller at Stars. The guy is an absolute ATM machine. A few days ago I saw him make so many bad all-in calls and reloads, it was unreal. If you have the goods, don't be afraid of scaring him off - just push your stack and you can get a call.
Good luck! Nice work yesterday and today so far!
I thought about it, but I want to go work out this afternoon, so I think I'm going to pass on it.Edited: Actually I'll wait and see how many enter. If its a small field, then I'll play.Assani - are you going to play in the 100 NLHE tourney at Stars at 11am?
This gave me a chuckle.I hate playing two pair, especially when I don't have top pair. If he hits another pair, or is slow playing a set, or the board pairs, you are going to lose a lot of chips.Damnit. Who plays Q8os? I thought for a while before calling here- I just couldn't imagine him playing that, and the fact that it was shorthanded made my decision for me.

Zappy (The guy with the Carrot-top avatar)
All tough players.
Another guy is that H@ll guy we have discussed in other threads here. He is a solid player but, IMO, very easy to read. If he pushes his stack, even if it looks like an overbet, it's not - only call with the absolute nuts. Also, when he raises preflop he'll come out with a sizable bet on the flop almost every time regardless of whether he hits. If you give him a call there, you'll know on the turn whether he's got it or not -- he will never make that second bet on the turn unless he really does have it. So a check there generally means it's yours. Otherwise he is generally just a tight, solid fundamentals-type player (which, IMO, is so much easier to deal with than the maniacs).
I'll definitely be in Vegas for the WSOP, and I will definitely play in a lot of the smaller events. Its about a 75% shot that I play in the big one this year I'd say as long as I have a decent bankroll, and of course having completed this will only help with that. But even if I don't have a huge bankroll, I could always sell part of myself.Surprised no one asked. If you hit your goal are you gonna sit at the WSOP?

Sometimes it's almost depressing to see a creative trap wasted on someone that stupid.
I wouldn't count on it. Poker(all forms of hold'em anyway) seem to be going the way of 6max. I'm with you, I hate this but I guess it's time to adapt.Day 13
2/15/06
Up pretty early today(woke up before 9:00 which is very strange for me). Would like to start playing, but its tough getting a game right now. Party has just started 6 max tables at $10/20 NLHE and they have about 6 or 7 of those running right now but no full games at all! I hope this is just a fad and not a trend. I much prefer full ring games to shorthanded games.
I so much prefer 6 max. In fact, I refuse to sit at a full ring. If the 6-max tables are filled on Stars, I look to the rings that are still half-full. When they fill up, I get up and move.I wouldn't count on it. Poker(all forms of hold'em anyway) seem to be going the way of 6max. I'm with you, I hate this but I guess it's time to adapt.Day 13

I find the more loose of an image I have at the table (not complete LAG, but loose), the more I need to fire a large round on the turn. More and more folks ill call c-bets on the flop, but not the large bet on the turn when a blank looking card shows up.Pretty much standard Assani here...make a ton of moves like this everyday, and most don't make the blog, so I figured I'd throw one in there.PokerStars Game #3979837013: Hold'em No Limit ($10/$20) - 2006/02/15 - 10:29:31 (ET)Table 'Arkab II' Seat #7 is the buttonSeat 1: cheo001 ($2301 in chips) Seat 3: ShavedBlonde ($1000 in chips) Seat 4: pokercards10 ($1712.60 in chips) Seat 5: MrSmokey1 ($7024.50 in chips) Seat 6: jwvdcw ($3505.15 in chips) Seat 7: D_Zoo ($3881 in chips) Seat 8: RockBackon2 ($640 in chips) Seat 9: djspx ($2839 in chips) RockBackon2: posts small blind $10djspx: posts big blind $20*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to jwvdcw [7d Ah]cheo001: folds ShavedBlonde: folds pokercards10: folds MrSmokey1: folds jwvdcw: raises $40 to $60D_Zoo: calls $60RockBackon2: folds djspx: calls $40*** FLOP *** [8d Ks Tc]djspx: checks jwvdcw: bets $80D_Zoo: folds djspx: calls $80*** TURN *** [8d Ks Tc] [4c]djspx: checks jwvdcw: bets $200djspx: folds jwvdcw collected $347 from potjwvdcw: doesn't show hand *** SUMMARY ***Total pot $350 | Rake $3 Board [8d Ks Tc 4c]Seat 1: cheo001 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 3: ShavedBlonde folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 4: pokercards10 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 5: MrSmokey1 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 6: jwvdcw collected ($347)Seat 7: D_Zoo (button) folded on the FlopSeat 8: RockBackon2 (small blind) folded before FlopSeat 9: djspx (big blind) folded on the Turn
I love this move. I'll do this quite a bit too. Raise it up in late position to steal the blinds. If they call and either an A or K flops, I'll fire out a decent bet there. If they check it to you on the turn, you fire another big one. You can take down so many moderate pots like this, and they add up.Pretty much standard Assani here...make a ton of moves like this everyday, and most don't make the blog, so I figured I'd throw one in there.
