Assani's Poker Thread (1 Viewer)

Table draw for Day 4:383 1 Francois Safieddine 224000383 2 Ray Babao 145000383 3 Bryan Pimlott 150500383 4 Richard Whitebrook 69000383 5 Kenny Hallaert 245500383 6 Serkan Kurnaz 236500383 7 Wayne Hoovestol 108500383 8 Assani Fisher 205000383 9 Romik Vartzar 330500
Lots of similarly sized stacks and no real monster. Hopefully he can pickup some chips and abuse those floating the bubble.

I like that draw, would like it more if the big stack was to his right though.

It's been several years back when we funded part of his entry. $500.00 from my camp. :bag:
Believe he entered 9 WSOP events (mostly $1,500 buy-ins) plus the 10K ME. So his break even point is probably the next level after the bubble (594th or better).Whatever, two cashes takes some serious skillz.ETA: SPAS

Is event 38 his only cash for sure so far?
Yep - $3,831 or something like that. Right before that one he tweeted "0-8 but nine is a lucky number"; don't know if he entered any others between that one and Event 61.ETA: I hate my phone

FYI:

Today is the first back to back day for me, and I'm pretty fatigued....didn't actually fall asleep til after 4, alarm was set for 10:30.
Curious how he's doing in the sidegames. Assani's specialty is nosebleed stakes Omaha IIRC... curious if he's getting good action at his desired levels.

Down to 690

Level: 16 | Blinds: 2500/5000 | Ante: 500

No movement on Assani Fisher's stack so I presume he's folding every hand or hasn't been involved in anything major. How the heck would you keep track of 77 tables anyway?

it would be really hard for me to bust with 10 bbs or more if i was 3 from cashing in the ME. like, i'd probably have to have AA cracked.

Which is exactly what happened to one guy. AA vs AK and AK prevailed. AA went home just out of the bubble.

Another one of the four bubble busts was AA v QQ, held up. Hand to hand you have be praying for a lousy hand, make it easy.

Which is apparently what happened according to Assani's last tweet.Would anyone fold AA if you had a decent stack that would definitely make the bubble and you were hand for hand? I guess it would boil down to how much ~20k means to you. I would have a hard time folding it, but finishing right outside the bubble with so much money on the line would be excruciating.

Look at it like a pitchers duel in game 7 of the world series. You hit a single that you're fairly sure you can stretch into a double. Sure... you're safe with a single, but in a pitchers duel that's not worth much. If you're playing to win the game you press your edges when you have them. JMO on this sorta stuff. If you dropped $10k on an entry, then $20k isn't really life changing money... but putting yourself in a much better position to win 200k...or 2MM is. :)

:goodposting: And I'm assuming it was something like AA versus AK preflop and not AA versus a board like KK3....

except that a lot of people get in on a satelitte and aren't paying the $10K, so they really may be making $15K or more in profit.to answer the question, i think it would be very difficult to not pick up AA and get it all-in. but it IS the right strategy if you can be eliminated if the goal was to cash and then move on from there. you can't win if you don't cash. you also can't win if you don't accumulate chips. i'm not sure what my breaking point would be - 15, 20, 40 big blinds?

It's irrelevant really how you got in... the $10k is gone. It's in that prize pool. If you feel totally overmatched at the table and are at point where 20k is a life changing amount for you then POSSIBLY I can see it being an acceptable call. However most people who've made it this far don't feel totally overmatched... and for MOST 20k isn't a truly life changing amount (10k after taxes and such)... IMO you should never, EVER fold AA preflop. KK, possibly.... QQ, now we're talking.... but AA? never.

Off topic: [icon], you planning on playing any of the WPO events coming up?
Seriously considering it. Have a very busy schedule over the next month but I'm going to try to find a way to get down there. Am actually running pretty good right now for someone who's taken a considerable amount of time away from the game. Have won the last two 3-5 table live tourneys I've entered around here. \(Disclaimer: I'm not a very good poker player compared to many folks here... I'd probably only be in the ~70th percentile at WPO events down in Tunica).

Level 17, blinds 3k/6k/1k, avg 321k, 549 players left

Assani's count hasn't changed but who knows if that is accurate, no tweets since ITM
