Ya know how a back-up QB comes in and suddenly the practice squad WR is putting up HoF numbers? Ok, not exactly, but who will be the likely targets of the guys he's practiced with?

Scheffler, TE-DEN, put up huge numbers the last part of the season last year when Cutler came in.

Maybe there's a guy or two who'll do that with Lorenzen for a few weeks?

I think Shockey will put up descent #'s with him. Usually backup qb's like their te for a check down option.

Agreed, but maybe there's a TE who isn't as good as Shockey, but has been practicing with Lorenzen a lot the past month?

For Week 2 it could be Al Harris and Charles Woodson.
LOL....this is the correct answerSeriously though, most of the time nothing changes....you think Lorenzen is going to stick it to Shockey, Burress and Toomer because he is more comfortable with Steve Smith and Reuben Droughns? The likely results is that he favors no one but that ll #s come down across the board.....

Any homers that followed training camp and preseason, I'd love to hear who you saw Lorenzen practicing with. Thanks!

This is a myth; backup QBs don't check down as much as starting QBs, and TEs with new QBs tend to do more poorly than they did with the starting QB.

Duncan Donuts is a good sleeper this week.

See there's the obligatory joke.

All I know is it is gonna be fun to watch him back there.

i agree with this. there was a thread awhile back that actually showed a trend downward for TEs the week after a new QB starts.i'll be putting in Watson over Shockey until i see what Lorenzen has to offer.

Considering he has a career 33% completion percentage, I'm guessing his favorite target is the turf.

By the way, what's the over/under on the number of in-game snacks he'll have? I can't wait to see the close up shot of him breaking the huddle after a commercial break and see crumbs all over the front of his jersey.

If anyone starts steve smith or sinorice moss this weekend you are loco.

If I had my debut in the meadowlands, am I going to be looking to steve smith or sinorice moss....who will probably be watching with a helmet in hand most of the time...or Burress, Shockey and Toomer?

Anyone else think it's perfect that a fat version of Jared is starting for the Giants?

Here's hoping for a whole bunch of Subway commercials during Sunday's broadcast! :pickle:

He looks like he has no mid-range game, so I'd downgrade Shockey. He can air it a bit, and he can get it to the backs, so I kind of like a lot of Plax jump balls, maybe a few Sinorice can run under, but nothing for the possession/underneath work of a Toomer. Ward can catch a pass out of the back field, I think he'd be the safety valve for J-Load. As far as who did he get his reps with, there was some turnover in that department, Tim Carter gone, Moss was here a year ago but lots of injuries. Smith looked like a guy who had the giddyup to get after some balls if he lofts them down the sideline and he got some pretty important targets on Sunday night.

Bump:

S. Moss

S. Smith

D. Ward

Status Quo:

Plax

Downgrade:

Toomer

Shockey
