What is going on with this guy? I know he's a bad ### but he has done squat through 3. This is my first year owning him and I don't have to play DLs but my league rewards big for sacks so I've been playing him. Frustrated owner here.

The team itself has two total sacks... So I'm going to say he is not getting much help. Maybe when McClover returns things will change.

In three games, he's racked up a total of:

5 tackles

1 assist

1 pass defensed

1 fumble recovery

Time to ride the pine for a while.

Is there another pass rusher on the other end of the line? I dont follow CAR, but if no one scares the offense, Peppers can get doubled via FB/RB/TE help. Its hard even for the best to beat a double team when pass rushing. I need him to step up, at least one good week, then trade him while stock is high(er).

Start him with confidence from here on out. I traded Peppers (and McNair for McNabb) so he will come out of his funk big time this week.

I flipped back to this game several times as I have Steve Smith and wanted to see the Carr effects on him. I also have Peppers in a IDP league and Thomas Davis. From what I recall TB ran away from Peppers side, He also dropped in coverage a handful of times. (4-5 times from what I seen) So it's not like he is rushing the passer everytime Garcia dropped back.

For what it's worth... it seemed the Panthers defense lacked emotion. There was nobody really trying to be the leader. They mentioned several times Mike Rucker and how he was not happy with the play of the rest of the DL and the defense in general. McClover did play in this game.

There was talk of Charles Johnson in this forums earlier as a possible edge rusher... Is he even dressing?

Well, I got frustrated and benched Peppers for Dumervil yesterday. I feel like the guy waiting forever for the bus at the bus stop, and when I finally give in and go to teh bathroom in the diner next door, I see it driving away as I hustle back outside.

I started him this past Sunday for the same reason I have every game this year....he is just too darn talented to keep not producing...and I didn't want to miss the game in where he finally puts up the numbers...He pretty much is holding my DE spot hostage!

He has to be far and away the biggest IDP bust of the year.

Anyone have a real solid answer as to why Peppers has been so horrible this season? I feel compelled to hold him into next season and hope he returns to form as one of the top lineman only because his value has to be rock bottom.

DE's trail only to QB's and WR's in career longevity, and Peppers is still a uniquely elite athletic specimen at a position filled with them. He's going to be fine long term. Hold onto him in dynasty.

In redraft, I'm having trouble coming up with an alternative that is both available now and makes sense, but if you can come up with one so be it.
