ATTN: M Schaub owners (1 Viewer)

Daunte Culpepper sure thought it was.(FF wise) The only concern i would have is their run DEF is terrible! Will Shaub have to throw alot? If he does throw he should have some success. The Dolphins just look really bad right now.

He looks like a decent start (only thing that could hold him back is lack of attempts).

Their (Mia) run D is putrid. Z Thomas may be back, but i still have a hard time believing one guy will make THAT much of a difference. Green/Dayne are must starts IMO

Culpepper had a fantasy bonanza, but keep in mind he only threw something like 12 times for 5 completions and 75 yards. Two of them happened to be TDs, and he ran for 3 more. Do you expect Schaub to be calling his own number on bootlegs? Particularly if Zach thomas is out, the MIA run defense is so bad, houston likely will not need to throw much.

The only league I have Schaub in, Brady is my starter. I don't plan to change that.

I am torn about starting him as my bye week filler. There just is no WR weapons there and it appears they may not have to pass mutch.

I have the possibility of picking up Harrington who seems to be putting up better numbers anyway with much better passing weapons.

I don't think its such a great match-up at all.. Miami has been horrid vs teh run, but they have the # 2 ranked pass d so far... something to think about.

I think this is one of those situations where one defensive rating is inflated because the other one is so bad. The Dolphins' pass defense rating looks really good because teams don't have to throw on the Dolphins. They just run all the day. The more interesting stat to me is that with the exception of Week 1 the Dolphins have allowed 2 passing TDs in every game. Romo, Pennington and Culpepper all threw 2 TDs against them. I think that bodes very well for Schaub's chances this week. Schaub has thrown 1 TD in every game this season so far. Maybe this the week he finally gets a pair.

Starting Schaub the rest of the year regardless of opponent over Rivers/Campbell. He's shown me he will perform well & be consistent every week regardless who lines up at WR.

My dilema is do I start Schaub or Hassleback? I know this is NOT the AC section but wanted to guage what others thought of him for this week....but if you care to provide some help  ...please do...if not, still interested in why you would or would not start him and over who.

Hasselbeck is a Top 10 QB. I like Schaub but he's still just a solid QB2 right now. I don't think he merits consideration over a Top 10 QB. As I posted earlier, he hasn't thrown more than 1 TD in a game yet. Until he does, I don't think he's someone who should be started over a clear QB1 such as Hasselbeck. Just my two cents.

I'm somewhat tempted to start him over Kitna @ WAS (and Harrington @ TN) partly b/c he's @ home vs. MIA's porous defense, but I can't bring myself to bench Kitna. If AJ was playing, I'd probably do it, but not this week.

He's turning into a VERY nice QB2 and spot starter though.

I'm going with Cutler vs. a broke San Diego defense (with or without Walker) over Schaub this week.

Main reason is that the Miami run D is so bad, I doubt Schaub throws any in.

But then again maybe they play action to Daniels twice in the red zone and I leave 100 pts sitting on my bench again.

In fact since I'm not starting him, you probably should.

Actually, Schaub threw 2 TDs against Carolina. Granted, that was with AJ in the lineup, but he's clearly more than capable of doing it.

My bad. Sorry about that. And I agree he's more than capable. I like him a lot, believe me. I'm just waiting for him to have a real breakout game. That's when I'll start giving him consideration over Top 10 QBs. He's been steady and very consistent but what he needs to next to take the next step up from a fantasy perspective is put up a 300-yard/3-TD type of game.
