Auction Strategy advice needed (1 Viewer)

We need a auction strategy here:

Details:

14 team league / 16 roster spots / 1QB/2RB’s/2WR’s/Flex/TE/TD - 6pnts for all td’s, PPR – Auction draft

we have $117 to spend

our keepers are Vick, foster, AJ green

What position should we focus the most $$ on?

I am thinking of spending 25% on a RB2, then 2 WR’s for 20% each…..also knowing we need a decent backup QB (rgIII, or luck could go cheap around 8% of our $160 cap)….

What is your advice….

league tidbits -

our league is RB crazy by the end of the draft all backups will be gone and some into 3rd on the depth chart…. And they don’t trust rookies (unless they have been hyped, last year Ingram went for 32, [in their rookie years foster for 26, AD for 28, bush 32]) auction spend is $160

I like to sit back and let the value come to me instead of deciding what I must have ahead of time. If you know your league is crazy about RBs I'd go counter and keep a close eye on the WRs. You already have Foster and with PPR you don't need to flex an RB.

You haven't really given enough information. Who else is being kept? How much does other owners have to spend? That will determine a lot of your strategy. You have your QB, RB1, and WR1 but need to fill one RB, one WR, a flex and a TE, along with depth. I can't really opine if $25-30 on a RB2 is viable, since I don't know who is up for bid. Based on your post, you kept Foster, Vick and A Green for $43, which seems pretty low. How much did they go for last year? If you can keep those 3 for $43, I don't see how a RB2 will be worth $25.

IMO, let them have the RBs. I'd shoot for Sproles as rb2, then a better QB1, PPR WRs, Buf TD.

I would try to get extremely strong at WR And take some quantity of low rent RBs like Doug martin tampa, James starks, mark ingram, reggie bush, Donald Brown, ahmad bradshaw and take my chances. Vick requires a good backup too.

I agree with the earlier poster. if the league is high on RB's you may be able to sneak a couple of good WR's out of the auction early at less than market value. The theory would be that people want to save their money for the RB's. it wont work with guys like Megatron or Fitz, but it may work with a good portion of the rest.
