That's what I was thinking. Looks good but pales next to the Peterson footage I've seen.
Peterson had more carries for more yards, along with more TDs than Lynch. He was much more of a workhorse than Lynch at the college level. Lynch was suffering from two injuried ankles for part of the season last year. I really think that many people absorb what the media is telling them, and take it a little too far. Now I'm not going to say there isn't a concern, because his history and running style MAY cause him some problems in the future. However, I don't think it is a serious enough concern to consider Lynch a better prospect. To be honest, I think All Day is on another talent plane.
He actually runs with great power and very impressive pad level when running in traffic. It is even more impressive when you consider his size, and then see the leverage that he runs with. He opens up and runs upright when he gets into space, which allows him to utilize his speed. I don't see pad level as a problem. However, his height, power running style, and his ability to stay on the field in all situations may shorten his career.
You know, I watched that whole thing thinking, "What looks so odd about the way this guy runs?" And that's exactly what it is. He has a very up-right stride. It looks like he lowers at the point of contact, but I'm not sure how that would translate in the NFL where you can't just stiff-arm LB's. Jury's still out.

LOL, nice agenda you have going. Had to go all the way back to freshman year I see. Had 25 carries for 80 something yards in that game when he was met in the backfield on every play.
You tend to get hurt more often when you carry the ball 30 times a game versus 15.That was the only year he was healthy

I'm sorry but for as big as he is he doesn't run with good power. The tackles that he is breaking on there will actually be hits and he wil go down because of his lack of leverage. He's elusive because of his crazy style of running. But hitting square on with a defender he get rocked too many time. I think he will be a very good rb but he just seems a bit light with his running style. Oh yeah and why does he rock from side to side when he runs. That cost him at the combine. I thought he was trying to hard but thats how he runs for real.

Obviously we watched a different video. Peterson was getting met in the backfield by 2-3 guys, had zero holes on the o-line to run through. Even great players need at least a little bit of blocking.
C'mon Chaz. Both these guys will be good quality NFL backs. And both have an upright runnign style, I think, so that one is a wash. Lynch makes some moves that really impressed me, while AP's speed and explosion really jumped out at me. I have the 1.1 and 1.3, and would love to come away with both of them, and so I hope the guy in the middle takes CJ, especially if CJ ends up in Detroit!
I forget who first pointed it out, but Lynch is herky-jerky and not particularly explosive in and out of his cuts - this was confirmed when he had one of the worst short shuttle times at the combine. I don't thinkit'll keep him from being a productive NFL back, but as grovedisel says above, he'll have to rely a lot less on his moves and lot more on conservation of movement and momentum on Sundays.edit to add: Lynch does still have a lot going for him - outstanding vision and balance, and the natural instincts to get low to absorb hits as a poster pointed out above. I also *love* and will continue to cite that he had his best game of the year on two bum ankles, and seemed to almost get stronger as the game went on.
