With as bad as the NFC is, anything's possible. If the rookies Brown & Branch play well, and Leinart builds on a decent first season they have a good chance.

The secondary is still pretty suspect, though.

yeah,but this year ,its different! new coaching staff will bring some stability to this team. the offensive line will definitely take a big step up, and I think they just might surprise some in the NFC west..its not like Seattle, St Lou, SF have juggernaut stonewall defenses..

I'm a Niners fan but I'm not sure why the Seahawks shouldn't be considered the favorites. The Niners could challenge for the division win but I think they're a tad too young. The Rams didn't do anything as far as run defense is concerned and the Cardinals are still the Cardinals. Until they disprove their incompetence I see no reason to hop on their bandwagon.

Chris Draft led the Panthers in tackles and they drafted a big man in Carriker. How can you say that is nothing.My Rams win this division this year.

Matt & Duece in their 2nd year and the starters at the beginng of the season. This will be huge. Then add help with the oline in Johnson,Gandy and the rookie. Also help on the D with the underated Buster, the highly motivated Branch and a couple of decent DB's in Holt and HoodNot too mention a HUGE upgrade in staff. You have the Whiz at the Helm, one of the Best Oline coaches in Grimm (AZ's biggest weakness) and Strenght coach in Lott <---- love that guy. Also a new Gym where the old one was A POS.This is going to be an exciting year for Card Fans. I am just not looking foward to seeing all the new hats and bumper stickers and the end of the year. I live in Oregon and Never have seen one besides mine.

I meant to say as best I was aware, the Rams made no changes to their run defense. I stand corrected. We'll see how they fare.

As a Leinart owner I hope they do well. There are things to be optimistic about this year that past CArdinal teams have not had:1. New coaching staff.2. FA Upgrade in OL3. Drafted highly touted OL in Levi Brown.4. Add the first three items up and you have a better running game.5. Leinart has one more year of experience.6. Good receiving core and I belive Pope will have a better year as TE making four viable receiving options, five if you include Edge.7. Add 4, 5 and 6 together and you have a better passing game.8. Add 4 and 7 togther = optimism.

I thought i read they plan to use Boldin a lot like they used H.Ward in Pittsburgh. I like the Cardinals chances in competing for the division. All the teams in the NFC west could be close next year though. I really believe the Super Bowl champ will come from the AFC

I think Dennis Green had some good drafts the last couple years. I think he would make a good GM. He is a good evaluator of talent.
