Backup QBs that have won SBs (1 Viewer)

Hostetler, Earl Morall, Technically Dilfer Warner and Brady because they were backups at the start of the year.

TheLastDispatch, why do you ask??
I was talking to a guy on the eagles message board who thinks a team should throw away their season if their starting qb goes down. Pretty ridiculous, and i posted in disagreement with it. Then he responded by asking who the last backup to win a sb was. no more knowledgeable football fans anywhere than here  Another one is Doug Williams.

All the players in the NFL are talented so that's a ridiculous thing to say. Some guys just don't have the shots that others do. How far did Delhomme make it on his first year? Anyone remember?

He made it to the Super Bowl his first year as a starter for the Panthers.

Morrall played from Week 5 through season's end. He was, though, benched in the AFC Championship game against the Steelers and replaced by Griese. Griese also started and finished the Superbowl game against the Skins.

He did, however, play all of 1968 but was benched towards the end of SuperBowl III for Unitas.

Forgot to add that Plunkett replaced Pastorini, who left fairly early in the season with a broken leg, in 1980.
