Baltimore at Washington (Preseason week 4) (1 Viewer)

1st play of the drive Brunell to Lloyd for 6 followed by 2 rushes by Betts for the 1st down.

Just showed Portis on the sidelines.

Betts out Rock Cartwright in as RB.

God that commercial for the John Riggins radio show is annoying.
I opted for Balmer TV, better announcers.
I would go for Balmer TV too but I dont have any Natty Bo on hand to enjoy during the commentary.
Nah it's just a couple FOX national broadcast guys working on their game, they all sound the same, better than the Skins homers on channel 9.I couldn't imagine local Ravens broadcasters if they had them... oof.

Boller sacked on 1st and 10.

2nd and 20. Baltimore runs goes no where.

3rd down Balitmore gained a few yards.

Ravens set to punt.

1st quarter stats:

Total Yards for Baltimore - 69

Total Yards for Washington - 37

Washington back on offense. Brunell out and Campbell in.

Washington Offense really struggled in the first quarter

1st and 10 boller throws a nice pass to pick up a first down.

1st and 10 incomplete pass, looks like dropped by Baltimore receiver.

2nd and 10 Musa Smith gets the hand off and is stuffed for a loss of 2.

3rd and 12 Boller from the shotgun and throws a deep pass and really overthrows Moore.

Ravens punt.

Washington back on Offense.

Its going to be a long game.

Redskins 2nd string Oline is looking terrible.

Cartright obviously upset at their inability to create space.

Campbell also sacked for a loss of 5.

Redskins punt

I am going on record and saying that I am glad I turned down tickets for tonights game.

I hope al saunders has some tricks up his sleeve for the offense this year. The first quarter was a repeat performance of the anemic offense from last year.

Hopefully when Portis gets back in the lineup he can help get the offense moving.

Baltimore has to punt again.

Couple of things about this game and the Ravens:

Both teams had ####ty games last week so starters played entire 1st quarter of this game. Skins had some room running the ball, Brunell and McNair looked pretty sharp, Ravens looking at WR3 spot bigtime - most passes to WR went to Darling/Moore then Williams. Looks like Darling will be 3WR but Moore will see action in redzone. Ravens second string D should dominate, the plan w/ D coordinator Ryan is to rotate the 7-8 hybrid DE/LB types and 4 Dlinemen. The second stringers are these guys that will play and rotate with the starting D.

edit for: Boller sucks, he's awful. Underthrowing deep routes, should have two TDs as Ravens WRs have beaten Skins secondary deep. Boller has overthrown and overthrown. Shot-put'ed a few other passes. The Ravens are a very good team w/ McNair not so good with Boller.

1st and 10 Campbell sacked again.

2nd and 10 Run by Cartright that gains a couple

3rd and 8 pass caught by Thrash but he was out of bounds when he caught it.

Redskins punt.

thanks for the analysis its hard to do both

What is that the 20th time they have promoted the John Riggins show this half. Damn when did Riggo become such a whore

And I don't care how many Redskins tell me, the fact that this has done absolutely nothing offensive in the preseason should worry their fans to death. Or two games maybe but the whole preseason. Nope you guys suck offensively.

:goodposting: on both counts. Plus we have Riggins providing commentary during the game.

Bmore announcers are Moose Johnston, Tony SaraGOOSE-a and the other regular from FOX. Can't remember his name but they've worked every Ravens pre-season game. Its #### Stockton. Good team to work pre-season

D I C K Stockton, this software is rudiculous.

this board is slow tonight

Boller is really looking at Romby Bryant for the downfield throws. He targeted him for 2 long passes back to back.

Boller dumps it off to #87 Demetrius Williams and it is TD Ravens

D. Williams (ravens) takes short pass and runs it into endzone. Pass from Boller.

Ravens WR squad is much improved from last year. Rate these guys a B- with much upside.

Campbell sacked again for the 3rd time. The Redskins Oline looks lost out there.

Campbell runs and picks up the first down.

The backup line stinks. Two guys may be good filling in with the starters, but as a unit they stink. Let's pray that we never see them play as a unit after this game is over.

Not so much Skins Oline, Ravens have sick skill at LB. Haley will be a starter either next year of the following. I think all of the Ravens 2nd stringers could start on more than half the teams in the NFL.

sorry phrozen, I'll stick to the color and let you do the play-by-play
no worries, as slow as the board is tonight we could both do it :thumbup:Campbell sacked for the 4th time with time running down on the 1st half.Hurry up offense Campbell throws a long pass downfield and it is overthrown. End of the 1st half.

Second unit did the same thing against a pretty deep Eagles team a few weeks back. The whole team played poorly against Minn, the Ravens have never played well when they've traveled west.

so (unwelcomed)GUEST and hammerva how are you feeling about the 1st team Skins Offense?

They do not look much improved to me but I guess we will get the full picture when Portis comes back.

It was good to see Duckett able to move the chains and make some big carries.

My real concern with the skins starting offense is 1. Brunell and 2. the health of the offensive line. Brunell looked good tonite to me. He put the ball on target and except for a drop by Cooley all looked good. The Oline looked okay, no one was injured. Sanders exploited LB Suggs in the run game as the skins hit their left side/the ravens right side on the outside. The skins have a good enough D that they're not going to have to score ala the rams on every possession. I think the skins are fine, the scrutiny is insane in Washington. Once Moss, Lloyd, Randal El, Cooley and Portis hit the field together things will be fine. Sanders hasn't unleashed much of his playbook. If the skins are getting shutout or have trouble putting pts on the board week 4 there should be concern, they'll be fine IMO

Todd Collins throws a pass to Harris. Harris breaks a tackle and turns on the jets and gets to inside the 20.

FG by John Hall and its good.

Ravens 14 Redskins 3.

Saunders estimated the other day that he was showing only 2% of his playbook during the preseason games. Also, as some observers have noted, they seem to intentionally not be audibling, or leaving extra blockers in like they normally do in an apparent effort to evaluate certain players in certain situations. It's ugly but this is a veteran coaching staff that is secure in their jobs and that doesn't care about the preseason.

good analysis  I live in the DC area too and you are right the scrutiny is insane here. I hope Brunell is ok this season as I thought he looked good tonight too. We will have to wait and see. There will be extra pressure on the skins this year since many analysts predicted them to win the division.

thanks for the info redman. I missed the 2% line by Saunders. And you are right there is an absense of audibles tonight.
