OH YEAH!!! I expect good things from Washington this week. Although, I have been wrong in the past!!I bet Washington steals alot of carries...
Barlow is startable as a very weak RB #2. Barlow will not be the third down back and may not even be the goal line back. Rhodes may have a few more weeks of being startable, but soon Addai will get most the carries. Who knows, that could start happening this week. I like Barlow slightly better against what has been a non-existant run defense of the Colts.Just saw barlow starting, blaylock out.Does this make him a viable RB2 this week vs IND?Who do you start him over? Considering him over Rhodes
Washington will be the third down back. I don't think they are looking at Washington as the feature back yet. I see only 4-5 carries for Washington with another 5-6 catches. If Indy turns it into a blowout, Washington may see more action in a hurry up offense.I bet Washington steals alot of carries...
Like the adjustments the Colts made after the Giants ran for almost 200 yards against them? Even Dayne/Gado/Lundy even ran for over 100 against the Colts. Then Jax ran over them last week. Colts run defense needs more than a tweak.Call it a gut feeling, but I think the Colts made adjustments this week and will play pretty well against the run today. I'm pretty sure they don't fear the Jets vertical game and will play 8 in the box. Just a gut feeling is all.
I'm benching Barlow in favor of L.J. Smith, so I'm going against the grain today. Let's see how it works out.' date='Oct 1 2006, 11:54 AM' post='5633488']ANY RB that plays against Indy should be in your starting lineup. This goes for backups as well (see: Maurice Jones-Drew, Brandon Jacobs).
Even in a PPR league that looks like a mistake. glllllI'm benching Barlow in favor of L.J. Smith, so I'm going against the grain today. Looks like I'll win that matchup anyway, despite losing out on Barlow's 2 tds. Maybe LJ Smith will get a couple also.' date='Oct 1 2006, 02:35 PM' post='5634824']

Good looking out, your post was final convincing I needed to put Barlow back in my lineup at 12:59:47' date='Oct 1 2006, 12:54 PM' post='5633488']ANY RB that plays against Indy should be in your starting lineup. This goes for backups as well (see: Maurice Jones-Drew, Brandon Jacobs).
Did the stats show he was carted off?Ced Houston showed up with some stats today. What does everyone make of this?
I missed that. What's his injury?Did the stats show he was carted off?Ced Houston showed up with some stats today. What does everyone make of this?
Why on earth would anyone say Barlow might not be the goalline back... if he's anything in NY, that's what he is...Barlow will not be the third down back and may not even be the goal line back.
That's the way I see it and that's coming from a Barlow owner.Based upon his limited action and the fact that most watchers seemed to think he looked best running the ball of all the backs, Houston will certainly get another look when he returns, right?
Maybe, but it probably depends how the rest of the crew does the next few weeks.Based upon his limited action and the fact that most watchers seemed to think he looked best running the ball of all the backs, Houston will certainly get another look when he returns, right?
Nice post. If you've been watching the games, I'd be interested in hearing more of your thoughts about the Jets run game. 22nd in yards, 30th in ypa. That's not good, but I'm a live-score-checking out-of-towner, so I don't really know why the numbers are low or if I should expect it to change, like if the OL will improve.Houston hyperextended knee, out 2-4 weeks. And Houston getting a shot wasn't surprising at all - it's only Sportscenter-watching live-score-checking out-of-towners who got wood for Washington this past week. The guy is a 3rd-down back, and the Jets are not fed up with their other backs. Barlow continues to be a very good goaline back (4 rushing TDs, most in AFC) and when the line gives him a block, he makes something happen at the second level. Houston has always looked good on the field, he just has serious pass-blocking issues that have held him back. Washington is also not a good pass-bloker.What does it all mean? Well, over the next 2-4 weeks, the Jets will activate Barlow, Washington and Blaylock. Presumably, Barlow is going to be getting the majority of the carries, but I suppose Blaylock will get another shot to be productive. Washington brings some big-play ability, and I expect him to continue to get 3rd down work.
Possibly... but I doubt he'll see any significant time. Barlow has been "good enough" and Martin is supposedly possible to return before Houston will be back.In either case, I see Barlow as the back to have on the Jets.Based upon his limited action and the fact that most watchers seemed to think he looked best running the ball of all the backs, Houston will certainly get another look when he returns, right?
