Ruud didn't get his long term extension, and if he becomes unrestricted, could sign anywhere. Where might he go, and will be be as effective there as he has been in TB? I've been hearing maybe Indy?

I don't know if he can be effective in Indy, especially since they already have Brackett, Angerer, and possibly Cody Glenn as MLB's

Other Tampa 2 teams already have solid MLB like the Bears. He'll work for other Cover 2 teams maybe, but if you can point out such a team that needs an MLB then maybe

Cover-2 is a more difficult scheme for the MLB due to coverage requirements being greater.I'd think that an MLB with experience in a Cover-2 scheme can be successfully transplanted into any 4-3, and possibly some 3-4 defenses.

How old is Ruud and do you guys think he would be a good fit with the Giants?
Ruud is 27 or 28, so not old by any stretch of the imagination.I think he would wreck havoc behind that active D-Line, but I would have to defer to the Experts on that question.

And he didn't play much until his third season in the league, so he's not got 6-7 years of mileage on him either.Ruud isn't a world-beater, but he'd be a better all-around player than anyone currently on the Giants' roster. Goff is better at the point of attack, but Ruud has much better range. Ruud is good, not great, in coverage and he'll do better against the run behind a line that can keep blockers off of him. The Giants would seem to be a good fit in that regard. With Boley outside and two active, rangy safeties, I think they'd rather have the thumper at MLB than the more finesse, rangy option.
