Toggle bolts if you don’t have the blocking in thereExactly. As long as there's blocking in place for the barsAlso there is minimal damage to said tiles. It’s a pretty easy install and just requires drill a few holes in the tile. Easy stuffAnd not have to live with grab bars until you need themBut then you have to damage the tiles to add them.Place blocking in wall where they're going to go in the future ftw.Just took a shower and realised there is another thing to consider. You may want to put a couple of grab bars in the shower. It's easier to install them up front. They are very useful, and not just for old folks. Should you get injured or have a guest who needs them, you are covered.
I'm not an engineer or anything close to it but no way would I trust toggle bolts in a wall to hold if a normal sized adult has to rely on that bar to keep from falling in a shower. By "normal sized" in my case you have to adjust for Wisconsin.
