Sept 23 - Coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed that Beanie Wells (knee) will make his 2010 debut this week barring a setback.

***Beanie owners getting anxious about their RB2 investment, we'd hold off on using him for one more week.

Sept 23 - Though Beanie Wells (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice, he's expected to play Sunday against the Raiders.

***Wells was never going to get 25-30 carries, so Whiz isn't telling us much. He's only an emergency fantasy play this week.

Sept 24 3:32pm- Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt revealed Friday that Beanie Wells underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus on September 2.

***If Wells does play, he'll be difficult to bench in such a favorable matchup. He's a high-upside RB2.

Sept 24 5:34pm - Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Friday that Beanie Wells (knee) looked "really good" in Friday's practice.

***Owners, ideally, would wait a week to see how many touches Wells gets, but the enticing matchup with Oakland is hard to pass up.

Listen... I'm all for up to the minute analysis and suggestions from the 'pro FF guys'... but you'd think they'd be a little more consistent with their advice.

Sit him, start him maybe, high upside RB2, wait a week.

I've always thought I noticed this with Roto... but never really took the time to check it out. This time, since my opponent is rocking Beanie, Ive been more attentive, and ya... Just seems like sloppy analysis work by a pretty darn good site for up to minute stuff.

I agree. This is ridiculous. C'mon Roto, hire one writer and have him do all the work. Or at least have a staff meeting where you decide what your stance on each player is going to be for that day across the board. Varied perspectives on a single website is far too difficult to comprehend. Why I appreciate football guy's rankings where the rest of the staff just copy paste from the first guy who submits.

This sounds like a mix of sarcasm with truth mixed within....

I don't mind multiple opinions so much. No one knows what Beanie's going to do this week. He hasn't seen a carry all year, so the easy prediction is that Arizona will bring him back slowly. There is another thought, however, that given the knee scope, this game has been the target for his return and he's going to hit the ground running. Depending on how the game goes, Beanie could get 15 to 20 touches. That could lead to anything from 50 yards to 120 yards and 2 TDs.

I'm keeping Beanie on the bench this week and hoping that he blows up.

not that this needs to turn into another discuss Beanie threads (it was more for the frusteration w/Roto)... I don't see the need to rush Beanie back with 20 carries when he is clearly not in football shape... and hightower has started the season w 2 very nice games.

I disagree. I watch Roto religiously due to the fact they stay so on top of things for the most part. Is some overdone perhaps? Sure. But I would rather have a little extra to read rather then miss something. In this situation, they are keeping up with an update any time the situation changes.

I understand that... but how does he go from a high-upside RB2, to a one week wait and see within 2hrs after being HYPED by the coach as looking real good?

An argument can be made both ways. He could perform like a high end #2, but it might be wise to wait and see. I understand what you are saying and it would be nice to find a website that tells us exactly what each player will do every week, but it's just not going to happen. Rotoworld gave you a couple opinions on a player with LIMITED information backing him up. Now it's up to you to make the lineup decision for your team. I'd sit him if I were you.

Nonono, I completely get this... nor do I let others make projections for me.. Of course I base my projections from various news sources (for injury concerns etc), but when one of my major sources (Roto) has 4 reports within 2 days all with different advice, it makes my projection planning more difficult. Calling someone a high-upside RB2, followed by wait-a-week, is a huge jump... I just consider their job to be that of one which should be more consistent (even though the nature of things can change so quickly). In saying this, the status of Beanie hasn't changed enough over 2 days, let alone 2hrs, judging my their blurbs, to flip-flop so much

I think they may have jumped the gun with the high end #2 projection. He may perform like a high end #2, but so might Keiland Williams. Actually projecting him to get there is a little ambitious. I disagree that little has changed between Wednesday and today. We needed to see him actually practicing before even CONSIDERING to play him. Aparenty Wiz thinks he looks good. That's the kind of news that might get an excited Beanie owner making aggressive predictions.

well since we're on the topic... as of now I have Beanie projected at:11 carries - 43yds 0tdNot in football shape, fresh off injury, and a solid performing Hightower is why.

I think he confused himself.

I'm with you. It's ridiculous to have "advice" so diametrically opposed. There used to be an old stock market scam back in the day. An "advising" agency would send out a few hundred thousand telegrams (today would probably be emails). 50% of them would say, "Buy stock XXX, we have an incredible source of inside information which tells us an imminent decline is approaching! Sell quickly!!!" The other 50% would say: " Buy stock XXX, we have incredible source of inside information which tells us an imminent rise is approaching!! Buy quickly!!!" Of course they would be right on half of their telegrams. They would then contact that half and sell their "incredible" service, lol.I'm not actually saying that there is any scam like action going on here. It is most likely just sloppyness. I just don't like it when an "advising" agency gives opposite advice within hours. It is either useless, sloppy or fraudulent.

Yea I probably wouldn't play Wells unless you had no other options for the same reason.

Well, I actually am playing against him this week.. but that doesn't play into my projections. I often project myself to lose, though this season, in my big money league I projected 2 wins, and won both... in my other, projected 2 losses and lost both... so that's refreshing.he just doesn;t look to me to be a good play, whatsoever

Definitely not a play this week but it is encouraging if he gets out there and just gets 5-10 touches without incident. I am not starting him this week just looking for some hopeful signs. Unless he actually goes out and tears it up I am going to look to trade him to the Hightower owner after this weekend. It is too much of a headache between these mysterious injuries and Hightower being in the mix.

Again guys, please let's not do the criticizing other sites here. If you disagree with a take, that's good for discussion. But I don't want this board to be a place where competing sites are criticized. Thanks.
