We saw Greene's value arguably shoot up to the first round after TJ was let go, and then balance back down with the LT signing... Leon out and McNight in... the Faneca loss may hurt the Run Blocking on the left side (or it may not)... NYJ added the Draft's best FB... this team wants to pound the rock and this kid looked like a STUD last year.

And we know that Az may be becoming a bit more run-oriented now. Leinart is a question, Boldin is gone, and coincedentally enter Alan Faneca... and my sense is that there's a little renewed buzz of hype beginning on Beanie... plus the guy was drafted 3 rounds prior to Greene right!

So what do you guys see for these 2 second year Backs this year... specifically in relation to eachother. Including their involvement in the passing game. Who's more talented and who puts up better ppr numbers this year. (which is the specificity of the poll question actually) But please expound beyond that if you feel inclined.

Jets fan and I voted Beanie.... Especially in PPR...

This little Beanie should catch a good deal of passes while this little Greenie gets none.

I'm not all that high on Green(ie), but I really don't see Beanie doing better. Not due to talent, but team.

In the last 8 years NYJ has six seasons with 1000 yard rushers. Arizona has two with neither happening since 2007. No RB in ARI has scored over 200 fantasy points (FBG scoring) during this time frame and I don't see it happening in 2010 either.

When it comes to Greene I take TJ's #s from last yr which were good for about RB 10 in PPR; it'll be hard for Wells to do better than RB10 IMO

Greene for this season, Wells for long term IMO
Where is everyone ranking these guys relative to other RBs? I think it might be around here: Chris Johnson / ADP / MJD / R.Rice M. Turner / SJax / Gore Grant / DeAngelo / Mendenhall / Benson Shonn Greene / Beanie Wells Pierre Thomas / J Stewart / Ronnie Brown / Knowshown / Addai LeSean McCoy / Jamaal Charles

It seems the conventional wisdom around here is that Arizona will run more with Leinart, but we don't know that for a fact. And if they do, we don't know if they will run significantly more. Nor do we know if either the same (or more) amount of running will be effective. So I'm with punkalicious in that we do know that the Jets are a ground-oriented team and that they're good at it (even with LT and a possibly emergent Sanchez). So if I had to chose I'd go with Greenie.

I think its safe to say Beanie has just a bit more talent than Marcel Shipp, JJ Arrington, Michael Pittman and a washed up Emmitt and Edge.

I would take Greene over Wells......and that is coming from a huge Ohio State fan. I have a hard time putting alot of faith in Beanie watching him struggle with injuries throughout his college career. I also think Hightower will still be a factor for the Cardinals.

I'd agree, yet did they really go out and get Santonio Holmes for his blocking ability?

Wells is vastly more talented but NYJ are vastly more effective at running the ball at this point. It's close but I'd still give the edge to Wells. I think his role will get stronger this year and he's good enough to take advantage of it.

incidentally Mock Draft Central has ADP up... Greenie at #21 and Beanie at #29.

Judging by these poll results, perhaps we'll see this a swingin as we get into Mock Season.

I posted this right after the NFL draft... and was a bit suprised it got to about 60/40 in Beanie's favor...

but now still in most projections and mocks, Greene is going ahead. Curious... anything changing for you guys with a pre-season game in the books?

I'll just take the one that runs behind the Jets O-Line. Hell, I'd take Raymont Harris if he ran behind that line.

hightower = LT as in 3rd downs and if the teams are down and in catch up mode.

dont trust the cards QBs to make Ds pay for bringing everything up to stop beanie.

greene easily.

at this point i trust the Jets O line and Sanchez more than Matt Leinart. Actually i trust about any QB in the NFL more than Matt Leinart. Browns may have worse QB play, not sure.

I honestly think they'll have pretty similar end of year stats, and it looks like you can get Wells a full round later now.

Beanie is also a much better receiver, so I'd go with him.

It's close but, I'd like to change my vote. Not liking the Arizona situation at all.

Agreed. I'll take the guy who is running for the Jets.Greene has LT to take away receptions, but I also expect Hightower to still take aways receptions from Beanie.

I think you always have to go with the better offense. In this case, the much better offense.
