Beanie Wells v. Ahmad Bradshaw (1 Viewer)

wells you crackhead
:lmao: Wells is 2 years younger, 3" taller, has 30 lbs. on Bradhsaw, is more talented, built more to be an every-down back, has a better career catch % than Bradshaw, has 7 career TDs to Bradshaw's 9, even though Bradshaw has played in almost 3 times as many games and has 100 more touches - all this while playing for a much worse running team. For this year it'd be close, but dynasty it's Wells by quite a bit.If you own either, just ask yourself, would you trade for the other guy straight up? If I owned Bradshaw I'd jump at it, as Wells owner I wouldn't even counter...just say "no thanks"

<This post won't address Bradshaw. Just thinking out loud about Wells.>

LOVED this kid in Columbus. Thought he was the total package. Drafted him last year, and now I have the option to keep him (12-team league) by giving up my 4th round pick. Full disclosure: this league is QB-crazy. We can start more than 1 and they go quickly. So, keeping Wells in the 4th round in this particular league doesn't present a boatload of value.

I'm throwing him back.

To me, fantasy football is as much about "gut feeling" as it is about breaking down stats, and I have a feeling of complete doom about Wells this year. First, he cannot get Tim Hightower out of his way. Hightower, I guess, is a good football player, though there is nothing special about him. It's a bit disturbing that Wells should have to fight this guy for carries. It doesn't add up. Then, of course, you have the horrific QB situation in Arizona which is well documented. Fitz will still command double-teams, sure. But you can bet defenses will make one of those subpar QBs beat them. Wells has looked like "just a guy" in the preseason, often engulfed in tacklers as soon as he takes the handoff. BAD, bad vibes.

There is no question Beanie can be an elite talent. I just don't think he has the ideal opportunity in 2010.

Would you bump up Hightower then? Check downs and what not.

Bump him? No. But I'd certainly take him if he dropped far enough. Just like any other player.

I'd take Bradshaw, I have more confidence in the New York offense as a whole and think the coaching staff will inevitably get their heads out of their asses and put Bradshaw in much more over Jacobs.

For this year its Bradshaw. Wells cant seem to get Hightower out of the way and rightfully so . Hightower has been a good football player. Hes not fast like Wells but he has moves. I also read that Wells still cant block like he needs to and they dont want to get there QB killed. third Hightower is a way above average pass catcher. Might be second behind Ray Rice for running backs. all that adds up to Wells not seeing the field on 3rd down, passing downs and when pass protection is breaking dowm. I have Wells but dont expect much "this year"

For Dynasty its Wells. He will eventually be the man in Arizona. Still might be a year or two away.
