(TheHuddle) Arizona Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (knee) had an allergic reaction to an injection he received in his surgically repaired knee earlier this week, reports Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic. The injection is designed to provide lubrication, and rarely does a reaction take place. Wells' knee swelled up because of it. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said there isn't anything wrong with the knee itself; it is now just a matter of getting the swelling under control. Wells said Thursday, Nov. 4, that his knee was feeling better. He hopes to practice Friday, Nov. 5, and play during the team's Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings.Analysis: This is a setback to Wells' knee injury which could play a factor in keeping him off the field. If he cannot return to the practice field Friday, it increases the chances he won't go at Minnesota. Fantasy owners should check back Friday evening (West coast practice info comes in late) for further updates. Backup RB Tim Hightower would get the carries in his absence. LaRod Stephens-Howling is iffy for this game with a rib injury.
